Great place to check out here in Cancun, Mexico since its one of the biggest and most talked about. The setup is kinda lame with the tiny dance floor, not as many shows as you would see at other spots. Also all the tables around the dance floor make it feel weird. The VIP tables are cool as they get a great view of the venue and a decent size area. Music was cool they played a great variety of top hits and took it back to some Journey songs too. Drinks are weak as with admission it included all you can drink but pours are weak and the quality of alchohol isn't great at all. Crowd was really young about 17-25 for the majority of the night. Overall its worth checking out for the experience but probably wouldn't go back. read more

OK so I'm in my 60s and I just recommend this place for people under 35 little costly to get in like $50 and if you wanna sit down is probably another $100 so the drinks that they offer with the packages are these water with alcohol? It's not really worth it. If you think you can get a good deal for drinking all you want then it's good for you might as well pay for each drink and get something you want. Not my scene they do a little bit of acrobatics pretty decent like a street performance in New York. We were mercilessly hounded down by two women who were "scouts" for the clubs. They walked with us past most of the clubs in the strip then when we got to The City we were allowed to walk in for a preview. We paid $35 US per person then to enter and that included drinks. We didn't want to stand in the crowd so we ordered a bottle of Cuervo for $100 US. That came with a waiter who poured shots and mixed drinks. Pretty cool if u ask me! I was also escorted to and from the bathroom by security. There were cooling smoke bombs, the DJ was dope playing mainstream techno/pop/hip-hop. Even and the lights danced to his beats! This place was live AF! Totally worth every dollar! Only drawback is that it's open only on Friday. read more

I had a really good time here. At first, I was pretty miserable because I prefer to hear hip-hop, top 40, and r&b when I go to clubs and the DJ played straight techno for the majority of the night. It wasn't until the end (last 2 or 3 hours) that the Dj started playing hip hop hits. The club is huge!! Like stadium huge. And that is how the set-up is. The crowd is diverse and with the drinks, its easy to get turnt up. We purchased a package that got us unlimited drinks and admission. They pass out neon flashing accessories for purchase throughout the night ($10) and occasionally blow smoke/fog and balloon/confetti droppings. There was a random ass "fire show" with a guy who calls himself the devil worshiper or some crap like that and performed for about 10-15 minutes in the middle of the night. Idk if that was the intermission or what lol. Nonetheless, it was interesting, creepy, and unnecessary. I had a good enough time that I would come back here when I come back to Cancun. This club is one of the biggest I've been to. It was loud and packed with people. The staff is friendly and get you to your table though. My only problem was getting through the crowds with flip flops. But that was expected since EVERYONE in Cancun is at this club. This club has a huge venue but plays mostly EDM music. Open bar with a wrist band you can purchase from Expedia members at the hotel your staying at. My friends and I were having a blast. Right when we walked in one of the waiters hooked us up at VIP section but the cost was to dance with a group of guys, when we refused to dance with the guys the waiters kicked us out. So! On to the next section where another waiter let us in, my friends and I were being wild and silly I picked one friend up and another waiter smacked me on my head and said stop, so I turned around and smacked him back on his head and he laughed. We had open bar wrist bands with our table, but the waiters would bring us our drinks. I tipped one guy, then he disappeared, another older man came and demanded a big tip when he brought us our 3 shots of watered down tequila. When he came back, I gave him a $2 tip to see how he would react since he asked for a big tip, he took the money, looked at it disgusted and gave it back to us. Very ungrateful. Just want to know who's running this monkey business with these unprofessional waiters. So ladies, if you like only EDM, and don't mind being set up to dance with random guys for a VIP table, then this is the place for you. read more

These clubs are necessary to at least try once while in Cancun if you like to dance and sweat your butt off while burning a few calories. Went with a group of tourists for one of the guys bachelor parties as their "guide to fun" while living next door to their hotel in Cancun. They wanted one of the big clubs so I picked the City. The club offers open bar for $50-$85 per person (depends on who you know and how many people you have in your party) and this covers open bar and can include a table with bottle service. Please keep in mind the ALCOHOL is watered down. The bottles are reopened at the table and have stickers marking them as "open bar". This is just how the open bar rule at the bigger clubs in Cancun operate. That's why I'll never give 5 stars. The music is a mixture of rap, hip hop, edm, some Mexican music. The DJ is fantastic, place is always crowded and the venue is tiered with balcony's and some roped off areas including the stage where surprisingly is was few girls and a lot of 20 somethings without their shirts. I wasn't complaining. lol ;) All in all I had a wonderful time and danced and partied until around 4a! Cabs are always available outside and the bus is 12 pesos (less that $1) to get home anywhere in hotel zone or downtown. read more

This club is huge and was the best club we visited on our trip. The place can get packed, we went on stage and by the end of the night people were falling off the edge left and right. Adrian, the operations manager at The City, was actually the best and a true professional. I had a great time at the club for 2 nights of my spring break but my phone dropped out of my pocket on the last night and I was freaking out trying to get it back. However, Adrian flawlessly communicated with my friends picking my phone up and passed my phone onto them with ease. I assumed that my phone had been lost for good, but Adrian really stepped up and definitely deserves a raise for effectively managing operations at the City. This place was AMAZING! The atmosphere itself was inviting and lively, and the people who work there were some of the nicest people ever! I cant believe that Cancun has better nightlife than Boston does. The DJ booth was stunning. The lighting, the music, the special effects were incredible. On Friday night they were playing a combination of top 40 w/ hip hop, my perfect combination. Don't be scare to tell them "you aren't interested" if they try to five you a crazy amount for a table and bottle because they will drastically lower the price. Feel free to dress down a bit for the nightlife, everyone in Cancun just wants to have a great time and get drunk so heels and cute dresses aren't necessary. So I went here while on vacation and was impressed at the size and the amount of people this club was capable of holding. Thats pretty much all that impressed me. Cons: 1) This place is huge (We spent most of the time looking for the rest of our friends. After an hour and a half we just gave up and went to the bar to do bottle service). 2) It stadium like seating (If your not in the VIP section / bottle section you have to stay in the lower section / dance floor with all of the "ballers" looking down on you the entire time. The first night we did bottle because it was soo uncomfortable having ppl look down on you the entire night. By the second night we didn't even care.) 3) The bottle prices were ridiculous ($180 for a bottle of Bacardi???? $240 for a bottle of Ciroc???? We brought the bottles but definitely regretted it the next day when we stopped by the liquor store and saw the same exact bottle of Bacardi for $26.99). 3) There's no seating unless your in VIP / bottle sections (my poor feet!) 4) Weak expensive drinks (I paid $15 for a vodka and cranberry and there was less than an ounce of liquor in my drink - I'm a bartender, I watched him closely as he poured my liquor. I purchased "The Madness tour" through the Mandala website which allowed me to sample 4 clubs: The Vaquita, Mandala, Dady'O, and The City. Of the 4 venues, The City was my favorite! The place was shaped like a stadium and was packed with people. The music was a mix of Top 40, Hip-Hop, Old School, and EDM. The stage in the center was rectangular. I enjoyed standing at the top tier, looking down at everyone and everything. I went on a Friday, which was really happening! It was Vegas-style all the way-noisy, crowded, and crazy! 104% do not go to this club. Even if you get bottle service, you don't get any chairs. Actually, the club made us share our bottom-shelf liquor with the "table" next to us. Also, had a drink from someone at a table with bottle service, and my friends and I got kicked out. Kicked out. Of the club. For having a drink from our friends who had bought the table for the night. Also, tables are in the middle of the dance floor (???) and it's unbelievably crowded, so you can't dance and people are constantly shoving past you. If you decide to not get bottle service, feel free to wait in line for the rest of your life as you try and get a drink. I know some people bought "open bar" wristbands, you'll end up getting two watered-down drinks at best because the lines are so crazy. Take your business to Mandala! I was really surprised the amount of people management was able to fit in this club. At prime time hours of the club, this place is packed! We had a deal through our resort and got unlimited drinks for $50 (USD) per person. I have to say, that the light and smoke show, and music selection was A+! These guys know how to get the walls kicking like they're six months pregnant. If you decide to get bottle service, you are seated by the side in a group of people in an auditorium style seating. You will be sharing the booth with other people, so get to know each other early. The place is huge, so it's likely that you may get lost from your group. The staff wants to be tipped for everything. They wouldn't let me smoke indoors unless I paid for it. There is a way to get out of the club if you need some fresh air, but you will have to get back in line in the main entrance and come back into the club. You'd have to show the staff your wristband, and the wait isn't too long late into the night. This club was going into the early morning, so bring your A game if you're ready to rage! read more

Last time I was in Cancun I recall coming here as part of a package deal that included entrance to the club & open bar not a bad deal of course. Admission prices seem to vary like any other club in the area this has a lot to do with the crowds you can always get cheaper tickets by getting them from those guys outside they want to sell so badly that they tend to always give u discounts. This time around I noticed that the club is only open on Fridays, Now I don't recall if this has always been the case I find this hard to believe considering this is such a popular place.,, how is that in Cancun which is such a party place one of its most popular clubs is only open one day ?? I wonder who came up with that genius idea & why. Moving on I gotta say this place is a blast , yes it's huge , yes it can be a pain to find people but if u r with a group why separate in the first place? Come on now how hard is it to stay together. Sticking to Beer always seems like a Better option since at least u know ur drinks are not watered down best way to avoid this is by getting bottles which is ok as long as u have a group. Absolute favorite club in Cancun! The club is huge and has a large dance floor. I went during spring break week and there were so many people here. It was very crowded but that's part of the fun. I can't wait for my next trip back to Cancun so I can visit the club again. Also, I noticed another review mentioned you don't get chairs with the tables. This is true - we did not get chairs but it didn't bother us too much. The open bar (which you can buy a pass for) definitely made up for the lack of chairs. Certain tables (I think VIP tables) do have chairs so if getting a chair is an absolute must then make sure you buy the table with chairs. read more

I was at The City in Cancun June 2015. I was just back in Cancun Feb 2017, but did not get a chance to go do to some party poopers. The club is jumping and is crazy busy. We had 5 guys in our group in June and everyone had a great time. Got table bottle service and all you can drink. The wait staff took care of us all night, never had an empty cup. Worst nightclub on Earth. My toilet has more style & class than this crap hole. Imagine, kids walking in wearing t-shirts & flip flops (no, it's not near the beach). You pay $35 to just walk in and you immediately regret it since your shoes stick to the bare cement floors. When you walk through the maze of hallways, you see a big room with tables & you think, hmm, this must be a banquet hall, where's the dance floor? Yup, the dance floor is the banquet hall. The dance mix from 3 years ago is playing & the waiters practically butt rape you while trying to get you to pay $500 for a table. Scam city: avoid this place unless you want to get scammed from the door guys to bottle service.

The club is absolutely filthy. It took me an hour to pay and get in and it was so packed I had to leave. I pushed through hundreds of people to get to the exit where the security guards screamed at me and wouldn't let me out because they started using the exit as an entrance. I was trapped inside the club and had to pretend I was having a heart attack so they would let me out. I paid $100 to get into VIP and it was the biggest scam of my life. read more
