I went to Palazzo with ten other people last night. We each paid $60 through our resort and were told this would get us transportation there (but not home), a table for the night, open bar, waitstaff to get us drinks, and one bottle upon arrival. All was well when we arrived. Staff was very friendly and insisted on pouring all of our drinks for us. Despite the bottles being cracked right in front of us, they definitely did not seem as strong as their proof suggested. Either way, it was included with our price so it wasn't the end of the world. However, once or bottles were almost open our "waitstaff" began hounding us about paying him extra to continue bottle service and "his service" all night. We knew that not everyone in our group would have this so paying an extra $10 per person when the open bar was a short walk away was ridiculous. But, the staff was strong minded and we eventually ended up paying $30 for two more bottles. They also brought over two rounds of "shots" that were just comparable to strawberry daiquiris in very tiny cups. Again, this was fine. What wasn't fine was that we definitely felt pressured into paying extra for the waiters "service" and assumed that the refusal to pay more would have resulted in little to no derived and possibly losing our table. Since we were at a club everyone in the group obviously wanted to dance so we went to the dance floor, only to come back to see that "our table for the night" has been given to someone else and our two bottles of liquor we purchased had been taken away. I understand that the tables were in demand and I would have been fine with them removing the liquor we didn't pay extra for. But they convinced us to pay money for something they later just assumed we didn't want anymore. With how cordial and personal they had been behaving, they could have at least reached out to make sure we were done. Since there were so many of us this should not have been hard. The music was overall good. While maybe not my favorite it was good club music and there weren't many complaints there. However, every few minutes (sometimes more) on the dance floor staff would request that you move or lightly push you out of the way so they could squeegee the floor. This is where I know my sober perspective on the night was different. Drunk people dancing barely noticed but I was getting quite annoyed and continually having to step away and watch someone squeegee before I could rejoin the dance party. One other slightly annoying thing was the plethora of "photographers" who just want you to pay for a photo of you and your friends. We politely declined to one person and another comes over and just begins snapping pictures anyway. Lastly (and this may be more of a resort problem) we were told it would be no problem taking the bus back to the resort. This was not true. When we left the bus was either not coming for a long time or could not be found. Upon trying go get a cab, two thirds of the people from our group were offered $12 total to bring us back. Then the rest of us were just harassed by another cabbie who would not go lower than $15. Again, while not club-related, this was quite annoying when we were under the impression that 1. We would be paying $1 for the bus back and 2. We wouldn't haven already spent as much money as we had at the club. If we hadn't spent excessive money while there it may not have been as bad to have to pay for a cab as well. Since I could not drink this night due to an unexpected circumstance, I know my tolerance for annoying or rude behavior was much lower. But, I also feel like it gave me a great perspective on an experience many people already seemed to love. I am shocked to see that other people were not as misled by the tickets from their resort/hotel and the comparison to the actual experience. This experience has definitely made me rethink if we will be going downtown for another club night while in cancun. read more

TOURISTS BEWARE! This place is TRASH - scammed our group with a classic bait and switch on our package, shit music (non-stop fist pumping electro), and a horrible 95/5 ratio sausage-fest. The promoter that came to our hotel (Hyatt Ziva) sold my group of friends on a table package at an agreed upon price. When we got there that night, they brought us to a smaller less expensive table saying the one we agreed to wasn't available anymore and then tried to rip us off for the same price for the much crappier table. Then after 20 minutes of negotiations, and paying ~$2000usd for the table, they wouldn't pour a drink unless we paid them a surprise "mandatory $300 tip" upfront - THIS PLACE IS A SCAM. read more

I am deeply disappointed in the experience we had at this club. Our property owner introduced us to a promoter who told us we could get VIP bottle service (1 bottle per person until 3am) for a flat rate. We agreed and we're allowed into the club without a wait. However, once we got there, we were placed on a table that was not private by any means and was right by the entrance to the dance floor. We were also told we only got a credit for the money we paid, which covered about 1.7 bottles of grey goose. After many spilled drinks and elbows to the back, we voiced concern but my server told me these issues were "not his problem." Eventually we caused such a scene that the waiter brought us complementary "shots" to shut me up.(mostly juice).. overall, HUGE SCAM. Don't waste your time here. read more

We went to a circus themed night. It was pretty good. They did a small show with a few balancing acts, and a runway show; they were nice but small. The venue itself is very nice. Large, round, lots of dance space. We got a table and a bottle, yes it's also open bar. The music was good, but we found the staff to not be a good as at other places such as Coco bongo. They were a lot more pushy for tips. Also, lots of drugs offered on your way to the bathroom. Keep your head down, don't make eye contact and they leave you alone. read more

Don't even think about going to the bathroom in this place. Gang members hang out and jump you as soon as you get into a stall. I had 7 people run into a stall and go through my pockets while the surrounding stalls were people punching me in the face. Management is very aware of this as this was very well organized. I assume they do this every weekend. read more

We made a spontaneous decision to head out into the actual city from our resort, which was 45 minutes away. The traffic into the city was pretty bad since everyone and their mom was trying to get down to the clubs and the touristy areas. We originally wanted to check out Coco Bongo, but the lines were crazy and Palazzo seemed like a decent deal. They were running a $60 USD open bar, but we were already pretty toasted, so we went with the regular $35 entry. They take credit cards outside, and then give you a bracelet and away you go. It's not a mega club, but it's pretty big with tall ceilings and bars in just about every direction. You can get "table" service, but it looked pretty lame to stand up at a table in the middle of the dance floor. It was mostly a sausage fest (or I guess a chorizo fest) and the girls who were actually there were were probably teenagers. They had dancers in body paint on the balcony dancing and they were throwing out tubes with flashing LEDs, so a real party vibe. They also do the thing where they periodically release cold CO2 into the crowd, which is always fun. Probably not great if you have breathing problems, but it reminded me of a mega club I went to in Barcelona. Drinks weren't cheap (around $11 USD for a mixed drink using well vodka) and they give you change in pesos. They take credit cards, but ATM charges in Cancun are stupid expensive, so make sure you have cash if you don't trust their CC systems. At the end of the day, we probably should've down the $60 open bar just because we basically ended up spending just about that much between entry and drinks. read more

Palazzo's has a great club feel. Paid for the all you can drink and took full advantage. We got bottle service which was pretty good. I think its worth it to go one night if staying a week in Cancun. Not my first club choice while there , but solid. They put on a show at Palazzo's which will keep you entertained. I thought the music was average during the show. I wish they played more top 40. I remember coming here when it was the old night club called Bull Dog Café. I think its more hopping now as Palazzo's. I probably would go back if I got in at a better price. read more

Came here on spring break for a concert headliner. Atmosphere was really good and the club itself seemed new and classy. There was definitely a 2:1 boy to girl ratio and the music was almost exclusively dubstep/EDM (even though there was supposedly an artist headlining the night I was there). Giving it 3 stars because my boyfriend and I each had 5 drinks and were completely sober. I'm not sure what "alcohol" they were pouring into the mixed drinks but it all tasted like water and sugar. My boyfriend was also offered drugs in the bathroom about 5 times but it didn't seem to be a problem when he declined. Definitely not worth the $75 we paid, but overall seems like a fun place and good club atmosphere! read more

TOURIST! BEWARE! Before making a plans to party here at the Palazzo, please read about the big, huge, thirsty, management that runs this place at Playa Del Carmen. I am not your typical tourist in Cancun. I actually travel there once year and know my way around pretty well. IF YOU ARE A TOURIST planning to travel to Playa del Carmen in the future, I recommend you steer clear of this place. This review does not even deserve the 1 star My friends and I decided to walk into Palazzo after hearing a few comments out on the streets about the music and live crowd. Since, we weren't sure what exactly to expect, we decided to pay the general admission before making a choice to purchase the "all you can drink" bracelets, which ran for 55 dollars. After stepping in, we quickly made our way to the bar to grab the first round of drinks...I had specifically ordered Grey Goose and Redbull, while my friend ordered Bombay with some type of juice, and another friend ordered Jack and Coke. Anyway...when our drinks came, all glasses were set on the counter with ice and liquor only. The waiter had yet to finished preparing our drinks in front of us at the counter. While he set down a couple napkins down and cleared the area a bit, I reached for my glass so I can taste the vodka to confirm I was indeed served with Grey Goose. I had already signaled the waiter to not pour anything in it, so, as I go to take the first swig, the waiter quickly pours redbull in my cup as to disguise the flavor of my drink. I tried stopping him from pouring, but he gave me the "oops" look instead. Clearly, I was pretty annoyed by this, but I didn't let it get in the way of my night. I started consuming my drink and noticed it did not taste like Grey Goose. After the waiter walked away, my friends start making comments about their drinks too. I asked everyone else what they thought of the drinks, and all of them confirmed that drinks tasted on the cheap side. Considering the price we paid for a single drink, one of my friends asked the same waiter when he walk back to us, how much were the open bar bracelets. The waiter replied 65dlls and signaled 65 with his hands to ensure he was understood over the music. My friend confronted the waiter and asked him why was he charging him an extra 10 dollars for the bracelet. The waiter starting to act like he could not hear or understand him and walks away again. After paying for the first round with a large bill the waiter never returned with my change. I had to ask him for my change a couple of times, before he decided to hand me back my bill because it was slightly deteriorated in the middle. I had handed him a bill of 500 pesos, which had fold mark in the middle...he touched the bill over the fold mark and said he couldn't accept it. I said -you took 30 minutes to return back with my change, just for you to tell me you can't accept my bill? So, if I hand you another bill, how long are you going to take to me bring me back my change? because I'm ready to leave this place since you decided to charge my friend 65 dollars for a bracelet. I handed him another bill and just as he turned around to walk away, he accidentally bumps into someone walking by and somehow, my friend's drink is knocked over from the bar. At first we, thought it was the waiter who caused the spill. However, it turns out that the patron walking by accidentally tipped over her drink while passing through. Our waiter quick refills my friends drink without even asking, and brings us the bill for the refilled drink! Understandably so, my friend was rather upset to get charged for a drink that that she barely even touched that someone else spilled. The waiter argued with her and insisted that she needed to pay. My friend then refused the drink and said she didn't want it anymore, but the waiter was not having it. I pulled the waiter to the side and asked him to call the manager over. The manager happened to be walking passed us at the moment. The waiter intercepts the manager, and tells him I wanted to speak to him, but the manager refused to even look at me. Some words were exchanged between them and he shakes his head aggressively and says no, if the drink is poured, she needs to pay and walks away. The manager's lack of regard was by far shocking! I looked at the waiter straight in the eye and started calling him out on all the BS he exhibited from the beginning. The waiter could not come up with enough words to apologize. The waiter felt so embarrassed he even returned me the money I gave him in tips!!!! 11 friends and I went to Palazzo as it was "highly recommended" by our resort (Secrets Silversands). Our resort said it was a popular venue, played every kind of music, and said we'd have table/bottle service. I had high expectations going there thanks to our resort and, boy, did the Palazzo disappoint!! It took 30-45 min to get wristbands when we had all paid $70/person in cash in advance. The tables we received were standing bar table in the worst location. We weren't asked what type of liquor we'd like at our table and it was a hassle to exchange the unknown brand of vodka for Jose Cuervo. You couldn't stand at the table without being bumped into because it was along one of the main walkways to the restroom. Once our entertainment guide arrived, we were moved to a table with a couch in better location. The women's restroom was decent for Mexico. I'm told the men's restroom was just a huge trough all the males had to pee in. The crowd seemed very young (mid teens?). The entertainment was good (dancers and people twirling light poles), but the DJ sucked. He played 95% EDM, but made horrible transitions between songs and even had moments when there was absolutely no music playing for almost a minute. I prefer hip hop music. I think I heard one hip hop song. So, they do NOT play "everything" unless "everything" means all kinds of EDM. Save your money and don't go here unless you just want to get wasted/high... read more
