Chip Gel Nail!
Muriel H.

This was my first time going to this nail salon. I went with my girlfriend to have my nails and feet done. The service at first seem nice. Then when I started to get my nails done I felt so uncomfortable with my nail tech. She must have been upset or hungry I am not sure but she wasn't nice to me. Also, the young lady that was next to me even said she felt it to. ( it was as if she didn't want to be bother) Also my gel nail chip!! I had them done Saturday and today is Monday, why is my gel chipping! ‍‍

It stinks because I used to like this place. However it is pretty pricey. I went there on Sunday and I was there for 1.5 hours.... I got a regular pedicure and dipped powder manicure ($90) and my nail tech told me I was good to go. Put my shoes on and my toenail polish smeared everywhere and I didn't know that until I got home. I gave them a call and they said they'll redo it if I come in now or within a few days. Well... I work and my only days off are Sundays. So therefore I couldn't get them done. I understand they offered however as someone who works when they're open... you should offer a refund. Not everyone can make it in within that short notice. That turned me away. Also I was bleeding!!

A (not great) photo of my streaky nails that were "supposed to look like that"

I have been going to this salon for a few years and have recommended several friends and family members. I will NEVER return. First of all, I had been noticing a decline in the quality of service, but sort of "let it go" as I'd been going there- I realized that, their practice is to send the more experience staff to new locations (to establish a reputation, I suppose) and, as a result, the "established" locations (like Conshohocken) get a bunch of trainees. I figured this out after asking the store manager, Zin, about several different people over a few months that I no longer saw and was told "oh, she's at Blue Bell now" I want to qualify my previous 5 star rating- while I would have rated them higher at that time, I would not have given them a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the store manager walking around as we were getting our nails, telling us that if we gave a 5 star Yelp, we would get a discount ($5 off I think?) pretty sure that's an FTC violation on the business's end, but, I'm just a girl getting her nails done who is a sucker for a discount. And, so are many others, I wasn't the only person to pull out my phone after my nails had dried, so, when reading other reviews, I'd keep this in mind... In any event, quality of service had been declining, but, didn't hit rock bottom- hard- until a couple of weeks ago. I went in for a manicure and brought my own polish (always do, I know what I like). I got there about 45 minutes before closing? And had to wait a few minutes for someone to become available, so, there I was- ready with polish. I got my manicure and it was a terrible, streaky mess (not to mention the manicurist was damn rude) I noticed this when it was drying (which was near closing time) so looked around for my manicurist who was LITERALLY RUNNING out the door with the rest of the staff. Maybe they were carpooling and the ride was leaving? I have no idea, but there were three customers there (one who didn't even get her tiny back massage while drying (not that mine was given with TLC, but it's the principle)) including myself and we got to chatting about how bizarre and terrible it was, initially we just looked at one another like "WTF?" answer is, no idea, but I can't make this stuff up. I asked the manager working (forget her name- she has glasses- maybe Hannah?) if she could fix it and she told me that it was supposed to look that way. I told her that it was not and that I was familiar with the polish as I used it several times before and BROUGHT MY OWN BOTTLE! Then she said she didn't have time to fix it and said I could come back the next day- actually, I couldn't- I didn't have time, not to mention I was just over the whole thing. I've worked in a lot of restaurants, and, it sucks when you get a table and you want to leave shortly and then there is an issue or they want dessert or to look at pictures with their friends- whatever. Point being, you're stuck there until your customer leaves because they PAID YOU for a service- you don't get to run away, you get to pout about it. The following day, I called the regular manager, Zin (who I've always liked, I have to say, I don't believe that it's her fault/ has much power) and told her what happened and that I didn't plan to return HOWEVER I had a $60 gift certificate my husband had gotten me (as I said, I've been going here for a while- I had previously used a gift certificate that my mom gave me for Mother's Day) and just wanted to return it for the money paid (btw- it doesn't say anywhere on the gift certificate that this is against policy). Zin told me that she would have to talk to her manager (Coco?) and get back to me. I asked if I could contact her directly (makes sense- "connect me to your supervisor" kind of thing) and she said no and asked me how I would like it if someone shared my personal information? (Woooooah Zin, bit snarky, but I digress...) I told her that, as a business person, I would expect to be reachable and, that I am reachable - directly- where I work. It's called a work phone- if you're out there, you need a work phone, Coco! Or, you need to give your managers decision making power. In any event, "Coco" was supposed to get back to me the next day- I insisted. It's been about a week now, no response. In sum, if you get a gift certificate to this place from me for your birthday or Christmas, know that it's re-gifted and I don't really like you ;)

French gel manicure $45 plus tip

Really great place! I went in without an apt on Friday afternoon and was seen almost immediately. There is a fridge with drinks when you come in, but I was not offered a drink (I assume mainly because I was getting a mani, not a pedi). I did see some people drinking the buzzed about mimosas in their pedi chairs though! They had an awesome selection of polish. I hate when cheap salons use off brands, but this place had all opi and a selections of opi, Gelish and shellac for gel. I had Kay and she was wonderful. She paid close attention to detail, always wiping away any polish that got on my skin (not much anyway). For all the cleanliness freaks out there, I did see all the techs thoroughly scrub their tools with antiseptic and place them back into the sterilizer machines. I admit, $45 for a French gel mani is a bit steep-- but I did get an excellent mani that took about 40 minutes. While I was drying my top coat she gave me a nice shoulder massage for 2 minutes. She gave me a nice hand and arm massage with the scented lotion and even finished by putting some drops of lemon essential oil on my wrists. A nice touch, but if I could spend a few bucks less, I wouldn't miss the massage and oil. I will be back here again, but on days I'm feeling cheap I'll probably go to the little place two houses to the right that was advertising $20 gel manis!

All around bad job.

I have been trying different nail techs so I can find one I love and can stick with and I tried a tech I've never had before. When she first started, she immediately grabbed the clippers and I told her I don't want my cuticles or my nails cut, just pushed back and filed. I was on the phone (which is my own fault), when she was responding and saying she wanted to even them out. I told her I just wanted them filed and I don't mind if they're not the same length. They're close enough. She still was saying they should be cut and was saying "what about these? Just a little to even out and then file?"And pointing to my different fingers, to which I just ultimately said "okay whatever you say I guess, I trust you". Which was entirely my mistake. I should have stood my ground but I didn't want to be difficult or make a scene. She cut all of my nails SIGNIFICANTLY shorter than I was expecting to "even them out". For reference, I have been working on growing my nails out for the past 8 weeks so I could have long nails for Thanksgiving and decided last minute to treat myself to a manicure because to try to avoid biting my nails due to stress. It only got worse. After she had already cut them, much lower than I was okay with, she then filed them into square after I told her to keep the natural shape and that I didn't want them to be shaped in square or round. I just wanted her to follow the natural line of my nails and even out the length. Even then, she made them square and when I asked her to round just the edges because they were way too square and sharp and she made every nail round. She filed so much and so low that my nails are now nubs almost as short as when I bite them. Despite trying not to, I immediately started crying because I could feel the physical discomfort of my nails being shorter than my fingertips for the first time in a long time and she continued on. I don't like to cause scenes, and there was nothing that could be done at that point so it would be pointless to complain so I sat there silently as she continued the manicure. I am so heartbroken, I've been upset ever since I left the nail salon today. Unfortunately nothing can be done and while she did a good job on the actual painting of the nails, she took away months of effort I have made to finally grow my nails out, after I told her what I wanted. While I realize I should have stood my ground, she should have respected what I was asking of her. I also will commend her for fixing one of my nails swiftly and with kindness. However, this experience upset me to the point where I am considering not returning to this salon. I have had my nails done and disliked them before (happens to everyone, nbd) but if someone has long nails and they're telling you not cut them, why are you continuing to push to cut them shorter and then filing so short that there's pain and discomfort? I hope this experience never happens to anyone else who is working as hard as I was to break that habit.

My first time and now last time at Omni Organics Nail Salon was anything but good…read more I booked an appointment for nail tips and a dip manicure. The website had the price at $60. When I was "checking out" they said the cost was $75. I immediately responded that the website said $60. They then proceeded to tell me that "almond shaped" nails were an extra $10. Seriously. I didn't ask for almond shape I asked for rounded. Never ever have I ever had to pay for a specific "Round" shape. That's just a bunch of nonsense. Then they said to charge me $65. I wasn't happy but I lived with it (which I shouldn't have had to.) My credit card was still charged $75. We contacted Omni and they basically said too bad. They made NO ATTEMPT to make it right. I will never go back and my daughter who has been going for 3+ years isn't going back. What a crooked way to do business. Don't trust them. Here are images of both my nails and what "almond shaped" nails look like. Again, I never asked for almond shape. I asked for round. My confirmation shows $60.

I decided to get the Hydration Manicure with Gel Polish on their menu. Perfect for the harsh winter weather. I called that afternoon hoping there was an appointment available and they were able to squeeze me in later that day which was so nice of them! Not sure if they take any walk ins so I recommend making an appointment ahead of time. As soon as you enter they have you wash your hands for covid reasons. Each station is divided by plexiglass on the sides and between you and the manicurist. I felt very safe and this was my first manicure since last year so it was exciting to finally feel pampered again. The place was really relaxing and the ladies doing the nails were all really sweet. They had a bunch of gel colors to choose from. The chairs were also really comfy which I love especially when you sit there for an hour or so. The women doing my nails definitely took her time and applied three coats. I love when they apply an extra coat because I think it lasts so much longer. After the manicure I got a hand massage and the hot wax treatment which was totally relaxing. This is part of the hydration manicure on their menu. The wax is a little hot so people who may be sensitive to this you may want them to cool the wax a bit more. I was totally fine but I love running my hands under really hot water so it didn't bother me. After the treatment they have you wash your hands before you leave for covid reasons which is good to see they are taking all precautions. They also have a punch card and after 5 visits you get $10 off! I definitely will be back soon to get a pedicure next.

I didn't get Ivy for my pedicure, and the technician I did get seemed rushed. I didn't speak up initially--being a Black woman, I'm careful with how I express dissatisfaction, since it's often taken the wrong way. When asked how I liked my nails, I mentioned that some were uneven and asked for a quick file. She filed one nail, then asked "That's it?" with an attitude. I asked if she was annoyed, and she said no, but it felt tense. I just told her to finish with the polish. When I moved on to get my nails done, the tech asked what shape I wanted. I asked her what shape she was confident doing, because not every tech can pull off every shape. She said "Any shape," so I asked for almond shaped, natural and soft-looking. She suddenly said she was too nervous and couldn't do it anymore. I was shocked. I didn't argue, but I was really disappointed. Between the disorganization, the rush job, and the discomfort, this visit was the final straw. I've given this place multiple chances, but I won't be coming back.

This is a 3D design; the white is slightly raised with a sprinkle of dip powder before setting. Hana completed this set on Phenix Salon Suite's opening celebration.
