Water damage and mold remediation are words that a homeowner never wants to hear, and the…read moreuncertainty of how extensive the damage might be can cause many sleepless nights. We had a situation where we found water damage from our refrigerator water dispenser tubing underneath a built-in fridge that got into flooring, dry wall, and adjacent cabinets. We also noticed that the floor in a different room had been warped for awhile, and finally connected that there might be a slow leak. We had multiple bids come out to assess the situation, and West Coast Restoration was by far the most competitive bid. We dealt primarily with Albert for the project management portion of the process, and he was communicative by chat and by phone, explaining the whole process in a reassuring fashion to me and my partner. Askia and Chris were the ones who did the initial assessment, and they also were the ones who came out to do our project. They were incredibly timely, courteous, took time to review and explain each step of the process of what they found, making a headache of a situation a lot better. Honestly, the customer service that Albert, Askia, and Chris demonstrated was above and beyond the other two companies that came out, and having a competitive price to match really sealed the deal. Askia and Chris did a fantastic job on the remediation, which took approximately a week across two different areas, which included removing glued-down wood boards. They were very careful in setting up containment and cleaning up afterwards. Everything was completed on schedule, allowing us to move to the next phase. I hope I never have to use them again... but if I ever need remediation, I know exactly the company I will call. A shout-out to Nathan, the owner as well, for having such a fantastic team!!

When they were done, the owner reviewed the photos and made the staff come back and clean it one more time to remove the remaining black stains. I was satisfied with the remediation work and the additional follow through. The restoration portion of the work was led by another person and that scope of work and estimate wasn't as smooth. It was the same company but different people running the job like it was a separate company. I ended up hiring another contractor that I had worked with me before.

They did all the required steps and promptly started the drying out process. All the work was great. UPDATED: The dry out process took almost a week. Then Chad and the reconstruction crew started their work. They did a beautiful job! I'd highly recommend them for any restoration work!

Three…read moretimes, I had to navigate around emergency water situations with our first one being a slab leak, our second being a leaking water heater, and our most recent episode being a sudden burst of water from one of our upstairs toilets. For all three emergencies, I called All American Plumbing to look at the issues and for the first two water issues, American Response Team was the mitigation company that handled the drying out of the water and other abatement issues. For this third emergency All American Dry Out came out and it was great to hear that they are part of All American Plumbing, so God forbid I have another water emergency, I'll only need to go through All American Plumbing to handle everything. Jonathon from All American Dry Out was a really good dude to work with, which doesn't surprise me considering that I haven't had any issues with any of the personnel from All American Plumbing. I'm a Veteran of these water emergencies at our home and I honestly wish I never experienced any of the problems we encountered. Since I dealt with All American Plumbing for the previous two issues, I knew who I was going to call after my wife informed me that we had bubbling on our downstairs ceiling and water coming from our ceiling after she popped the bubble. This emergency happened on a Saturday evening, so I knew that I'd be calling All American Plumbing Monday morning. All American Plumbing is located in Poway, CA and based on my previous dealings with them, they send a team to address our emergency pretty quickly. I contacted Rachel on Monday, who I believe is part owner of the company, and she scheduled a mitigation company to come out first thing Tuesday morning and plumbers to come out after the mitigation company. On Tuesday morning, I met Jonathon from All American Dry Out. It was great to hear from Jonathon that All American Dry Out was part of All American Plumbing and that he had previously worked for American Response Team, but moved over once he heard All American Plumbing would be handling their own mitigation responsibilities. Jonathon handled everything by coordinating a team to set up drying machines for the water, coordinating with an environment company to determine if we had asbestos, calling a pack out company to remove our household goods, and working with my insurance for payment. Having to deal with emergency water damage is very stressful, but Jonathon's professionalism, communication, and responsiveness made our situation less stressful. Anytime I had a question and either called or texted Jonathon, he quickly answered my question. Jonathon even set up a lock box where we could place keys there for the contractors, so that they had access to our home without us needing to be there while work was being done to our home. For the initial mitigation and abatement of this water problem, All American Dry Out quickly addressed what needed to be done before the other things that still need to be worked on. When I had to deal with the two water issues at our home years ago, I had to work with two different companies for the mitigation and the plumbing. With All American Plumbing having their own mitigation segment called All American Dry Out, it was great working with just one company and it was a blessing to work with another good dude, who made a stressful situation not as stressful.

I'm the type of person who is very specific about what I want and I did my homework. I got four different bids for this project, and C2C was the clear winner. Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Highly recommend if you want high-end results without the "luxury markup" of other firms.

Jim Thurber was the Project Manager who walked me through the process of putting everything back together again. He actually worked with my Insurance Adjuster, and I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket, except for an unforeseen leak with wall damage after the initial estimate was done. He had his employees there around 8 am every day they were supposed to be there. Alex and Marcus (i am not sure of the names, but hopefully I got it right) did the drywall/patching of the mess of my kitchen. Then the cabinet team finished it off, painted everything exactly matching the original paint, and put all the appliances back where they belonged. The kitchen looked brand new, and everything was cleaned up afterwards. The timeline was as first estimated. If there were any issues, Jim took care of it! Jim communicated with me often, and he reassured me that everything will be done to my specifications, which they were. Great company! Wonderful project manager (Jim)! Fabulous employees!

I called 3 times to confirm they were coming. Finally, after 7 hours of waiting, they rescheduled for someone to come the next day, forcing me to take a day off of work. They charged me about $100 to scope the pipes. They told me that the lines needed to be snaked and jetted, costing $1200. This was a verbal estimate. No written estimate was provided. Also, this required another day of waiting around for them to show up. Again, it took hours, but they showed up. After he was done with this process, he said the line needed to be scoped again. So one more day scheduled to wait around for the plumber. I received an email with an invoice for the work. I noticed on the invoice in the area a customer would normally sign to approve the work and acknowledge the policies and potential risks of the work, there was a squiggly line that was not my signature. I didn't think much of it at the time... The next guy that came out to scope again told me that the pipes should not have been snaked or jetted but are clear and the backup will not be an issue again. Further, he indicated that the snake/jetting process had damaged my pipes. I was frustrated by this but just wanted to be done with the process. Then, I tried doing laundry and experienced a massive flood in my bathroom. So, it appears that I paid them $1200 to do nothing but damage my plumbing and waste 4 days of my life! I called to complain and request a refund of the money I had paid for the work. I was told that they will not refund the money and that they were not responsible for any damages to my pipes or my home due to the flood. Hector, the manager, indicated that I had signed the disclaimer releasing them of all liability for damages. When I explained to Hector that I had not seen the disclaimer until after the job was done and had not signed it, he said he needed to talk to the technician and review the case. I asked to be referred to Hectors supervisor, as he made it clear, he was not going to help me. Now, I have called back, but nobody will speak to me or return my call. Their actions are dishonest, bordering on criminal! I was eventually able to reach a manager who, after looking at my situation, refunded my money for the service. Everyone from Bill Howe I dealt with was polite and reasonable, except Hector. Much of my frustration could have been avoided had he listened effectively and looked at the problem objectively before concluding I was in the wrong. I had used this company in the past with all positive experiences. Perhaps they just had a bad day.
