I am ABSOLUTELY CONVINCED that the only positive reviews written about this company are either from a hired publicity agency that specializes in "negating" any negative or less than positive reviews to help a company regain it's reputation, but CLEARLY the "upswing" & shift from numerous single star (and from the commentary, most would've opted for "0" stars if it were possible) reviews can only be attributed to either the company utilizing friends & family to write (AND THIS IS VERY NOTABLE) LENGTHY & OVER-COMPLIMENTARY reviews. I say it's "NOTABLE" that their lengthy because the longer the review, the longer it takes to scroll to get to the next one, which if it's on a 2nd page is sometimes overlooked, which I'm sure is in no way incidental when the person who wrote it decided to write such a long & detailed review, so this long & detailed review is simply my experience AND and echo of the NUMEROUS other truly impartial reviews listed below the one of two positives below it. No possible way this company did a 180 with their customer service, prices & policies in such a short period of time. The facts alone, including over-priced firearms, ammo & parts that can be easily found cheaper at numerous other sites is reason enough to shop somewhere else, some examples include these longtime & well-respected sites such as: Cheaperthandirt, Sportsmansguide, MidwayUSA, Atlantic Firearms, Centerfire Systems, or even Firequest are all good alternatives and examples of MUCH CHEAPER PRICES ON GUNS. That said, be sure to read CT's fine print about restocking fee's/Return Policies or ask them about backorders.. that alone would send me running for the hills! 25% Restocking Fee@#$%?! This is pure, unadulterated greed on the part of the owners, since this fee is meant simply to cover basic inconveniences and/or the cost of small incidentals, or at most shipping, but ONLY in the case of a customer changing his mind. This company clearly needs a lesson in customer service, but I think based on my experience, the experience of a friend of mine who also bought an item from them, and the numerous negative reviews is proof that this company simply won't change. If it's owned by a veteran or someone who's served in the military, whether in combat or not I think that alone would sway me to at least try them, but with all the other negatives they need to find another line of work where customer service isn't a part of doing business, no matter what their background, and I hate saying this because I would really prefer to support people who've served our country as my own family has given so much as well. All in all though ask yourself if it's worth (a) spending MORE MONEY on the item here at CT, (b) risking having to return or worse defend yourself if you don't get the item you want, or (c) dealing with the abhorrent and despicable customer service at CT, then if you can honestly say yes to all 3 of those (at a minimum), then I wish you all the luck in the world and only hope you get your item, don't get "gouged" on the price, and pray you never have a problem that requires you deal with customer service, because if so you'll be the next victim writing a negative review here or somewhere else. read more

I do not know why this place is getting bad reviews. I had a wonderful experience with Cobra Tactical and their staff. If I could rate this business a 20 to offset all of you unrealistic a**holes I would. Here was my experience: I was in the market for an Eotech HHS 1. This is a very expensive and highly sought after by our military and special forces. Eotech makes the magnifiers by hand and supply all government agencies before the civilians. I shopped around and the lead time at OpticsPlanet and Midwayusa were all about the same as Cobra Tactical. Cobra Tactical came in at a better price point then all the competitors. I decided to go with Cobra Tactical. They are an authorized deal for Eotech. I knew I was going to wait to get my order. I put in the purchase in August 2012. Two months ago I called Eotech and talked to the Director of Inside Sales. They informed me that there was a 15000 unit order and had to supply our military and government agencies before civilians. I was told that I should receive my unit in March 2013. The customer service at Cobra Tactical gave me the same information and worked hard to keep me up to date with the status of my order. I got a call from Cobra Tactical March 7, 2013 telling me that my HHS 1 will be at my door step March 9, 2013. This is pretty close to the projected time frame the Director of Inside Sales told me. In my opinion, Cobra Tactical works hard to satisfy their customers and provides them with competitive pricing. If you have unrealistic expectations, you will get the same treatment from OpticsPlanet, Midwayusa, and any other online or sporting goods store. If you have unrealistic expectations you should evaluate yourself and not Cobra Tactical. Good things come to those who have patients. I love this place. Always seem to have what I need and or can order it for me. Crew is very helpful, knowledgeable and attentive. I'm reading a lot of complaints about this place and can only come to one conclusion. The complainers always seem to be the hard to please types. You can't seem to do enough for these types and they will still find something to go on about. I hear them at the counters at the other gun stores I go to. Bitch Bitch Bitch! I've been to some reloading stores where they won't even look at you if you're not part of their little click and when they finally do they make you feel like a dweeb when you ask for help. The second you walk into Cobra Tactical you are greeted warmly and given the very best attention/service I could ever ask for. my dealings with Cobra Tactical have been an up and down Roller coaster. The last Purchase I made through them was in the area of a year and a half ago. I ordered a big hole upper made by DD . Well the year is now 2015 and the other week I went on line to the DD site and low and behold there is the big hole upper that I needed Cobra Tactical to order for me. I contacted Cobra by email and got Kim Larson. I have to say my opinions about Cobra Tactical changed. She bent over backwards to get this thing to me as quick as possible. Like a in a week and a half. It is in the mail now and we will see how long the USPS takes to get it to me. But al I an say is Thanks to you Kim and Cobra Tactical for finally closing this chapter . Only reason I created an account was to warn people of how awful the business ethics (or lack there of) are. Owner is shady and obviously struggling financially. I can see why people who ordered from them (per other reviews) are having difficulty retrieving their purchases. The positive reviews of "friendly and knowledgeable staff" are obviously written from people who have little to no experience, knowledge or qualifications to be making such judgements. Be wise and spend your money on a credible business that will be around in the next year and give you safe, accurate, legal information and service. This place just got their FFL, and while they don't have much inventory they will do their darndest to get the gun. I was directed to go to Gallery of Guns so they can get what you want and as long as it is california legal they will bring it in. But the store is great and well stocked on other stuff. They answer all your questions, and take their time with you. I'm a novice when it comes to the ins and outs of AR Builds too, but they ask the right questions so you build something you want and on budget too. The staff is always there to greet you with a smile and I've never had to wait ... unlike other places in the valley and what not. Plus they are super honest!!! I just finished up my two-day CCW training with Cobra Tactical. I had high hopes that it would be worth the time and money and I'm happy to report that CT exceeded my expectations. The first day classroom portion of the class was extremely informative and well organized. The second day field training was intense and I learned things that I never knew were possible. Eric and his staff were outstanding. Their focus on our safety was always apparent. They had great attention to every detail regarding teaching tactics, muscle-memory, accuracy, efficiency, etc. They continually pushed everyone's comfort zone, but in a very good way. I thought I had a review on here for this con-outfit but I don't see it so I am going to write another one because no one should buy from this company and I can't believe they are still in business. The bottom line is that they flat out stole my money for doing absolutely nothing. Then they lied to my credit card company when I filed for a fraudulent transaction refund. The bottom line is I found out after they admitted it, that they don't even produce (and did not have any of) the lowers that I was wanting to buy at the time. Without a doubt, Cobra Tactical is hands down THE people to deal with for firearms or accessories. I drive out here from Bakersfield when I need to make a purchase. Eric is very friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about everything he sells. I don't understand the bad reviews, I can only assume these people don't understand the backlogs manufacturers have been facing since the elections in November; this is not a problem with Cobra Tactical, but with companies like Sig Sauer, Magpul etc. Cobra Tactical has been nothing but professional in all my dealings with them, and as I said before, their level of service alone is well worth the hour drive from Bakersfield. read more

Cobra Tactical did me wrong when I purchased my Springfield Armory M1A Scout Squad Walnut Stock. When I went to pick up the rifle after the waiting time the box did not have anything in the box except the rifle with a chunk of wood missing from the stock. No protection on the rifle, no soft gun case. Nothing but the gun. The owner is a crook IMO. He said "Don't worry about it, just shoot it". I had some ammo delivered to Cobra Tactical and they charge $25.00 for each package. Then charge you an outrageous amount of money using credit card. I am retired law enforcement. I've been carrying a firearm for the past 39 years. I've been around too long to put up with rude customer service in gun shops. I recently bought a handgun from Cobra Tactical and found the process easy. The price of the handgun was the lowest I've found. The personal service and the politeness of the staff was first rate. I had new sights put on two of my guns and the work was perfect. I know quality gun work when I see it. I reciently bought a Ruger pistol from Cobra Tactical and have been very pleased with it. Eric waited on me and was very helpful and friendly. I had to wait since there were 3 customers ahead of me, but every gun store you go to now days you have to wait. He does seem to be short handed and could use more help on the phones and behind the counter, but again just about every gun store I have been to in the last year is the same way. This place has become my home away from home. It is a local and down to earth buisness. The staff is very knowledgeable and honest. They haven't been picking up the phone because the demand has gone through the roof. If you want a quality product, stop by and talk to them. The doors are open as advertised. The only time they weren't open was during Shot Show, but who good really was? If you need a voice at the end of the line every time you call, go find some other place and get a POS non milspec item.
