Parking is horrendous in the area, but we enjoyed our time at SF Sketchfest this past weekend, attending two different shows on the same day at Cobb's Comedy Club. That means standing in the long line twice, with the venue opening up just 30 minutes before showtime for both sold-out events. They're strict at the security screening, but it looks like they'll let you check in anything for free, even tagging a canned beverage I forgot I had in my bag, which I was able pick up at the end of the night. The place was modern and inviting inside with decent sound and lighting. The space is quite large and oddly shaped with the stage more toward the right side. Guests are seated quickly at arrival, either on the lower main level or upstairs. For the first show in the afternoon, we saw Comedian Clash: The Clash of the Internet Comedy Giants, from seats at the rear center of the floor. It was super cramped back there, with attendees pretty much sitting on top of each other. But that didn't stop us from having a good time filled with laughter, entertained by the family-feud style game show involving audience participants. For the second event, we saw live stand-up comedy by Janeane Garofalo from a table toward the left side which was much more spacious than our first seats, with just as good a view. The stage is raised, so we didn't have a problem with viewing at all during our time here. We had to meet the two item minimum per person for each show, and tried various food and drink options from the menu. This included the slaughter berry tea, strawberry vodka lemonade, wildberry mojito, beer, diet soda, garlic fries, knockout grilled cheese sandwich, and a salad. As expected, the drinks were delicious but weak in alcohol, and the food was just okay, though the garlic fries were made well, nice and crisp and coated with plenty of minced garlic and olive oil (or whatever kind of oil they use). Of course, everything was pricey, but I appreciated that they at least offered food at the venue, cuz we were hungry. Also worth noting, service here is pretty good with friendly staff and reasonable wait times, unlike the comedy venues in the south bay where service is so slow that you don't get your second drink till practically the end of the performance.

Came here to see Craig Robinson. And he was hilarious. I had such a great time. Darren Carter opened up for him and OMG was he funny. I love coming here to have a night of laughter. Service was good but thr only thing I didnt like was our server took it upon herself to make my Shaker drink a double. So instead of paying $24 I paid $30. I had to get a sprite to make it drinkable. They do give VERY healthy pours. So i can't be too mad.

Came to see Chad Daniels!!! He was hilarious and the venue was great. At the entrance we were greeted quickly and ever so politely. The staff was amazing at getting our food and drinks right away checking on us really making sure we were taken care of. I will be coming back.

We had tix to Jason Cheney last night. We had some friends in town for training that we invited last minute. The show was sold out so they had a wait in the standby line to hopefully get tickets. Ari and the staff when out of their way to try to seat us together (party of 5) and they did. We were so happy and had a great time. We've been going to this club for years and rightly recommend.

Was there last night for the Maz Jabroni. Had not been there for years, like how they have changed the inside to make it more of like a comedy club instead of row seating. Drinks were great and our server suzi was wonderful and friendly. Great place to ho for and event.

First off , great show from Rex Navarrette and his opener Artie Valenzuela. Now for venue itself. Nice intimate setting, perfect for a comedy show. Lighting was spot on to the stage and performer. We were in the second tier of seating and felt right in the mix of things. Looks like all seats would be good. Staff checking in, hosting, and serving were all great. Food was eh. Drinks were a little above eh (and you have to buy at least 2 for the club minimum. A few in our party just opted to buy the overpriced non-alcoholic drinks like soda and bottled water. The only major drawbacks is parking in the area is tough. And let's not forget that there were flies on stage (kinda nasty). But Rex made sure to address his guest performers at the end of his show, which actually made the show more authentic. But for real though, please get some fly zappers or something, because it's not cute watch flies dancing around the stage for the whole show.

Watching Rex Navarete one of our favorite Filipino comedians. Don't really like the 2 drink minimums here, especially when you pay over $40 to get in the place. Food is mostly the air fryer kind so they definitely need to scale up the food quality here. Comedy acts are really good here so if you're looking for a night of comedy, you came to right place.

Another great visit to cobbs These drinks were great No Paloma (Grapefruit juice & sparkilong water) _lemonade

went to Cobbs Comedy Club for the first time yesterday and had a great experience. we had a little issue with our tickets when we got there, but Ari was super helpful and made sure everything worked out! really appreciated how kind and accommodating she was. definitely would come back!

Came here to see headliner Jenn Sterger. She is truly hilarious and a must watch. I'm glad Cobbs brought her back. Any comedy club would benefit from having her. Cobbs looks small from the outside, but it large. The workers there are nice and helpful. Service was quick and easy. I didn't eat there but my friend did and he enjoyed his Cobb salad and mixed drink. Said it was good.

What food from the kitchen is reccomended?

We loved the Cobb salad. They also have drinks not on the menu like hot tea and iced tea.

Me and my wife are attending Cobbs Comedy Club for the first time next weekend to see Josh Blue. Is there a parking lot or a near by parking garage and if so do we need to pay ahead a time to secure a parking spot?

Cobb's does not have a parking lot. There is a parking garage at Filbert and Columbus, which is two blocks away. There are lots about 3-4 blocks away in Fisherman's Wharf.

Are there age requirements to see a show?

Hi Brittany, Our shows are 18+!

Do I need the booster as well or is the two shot vaccine I already have okay? I might not have time to get boosted before a show

Thanks for your question! We are currently no longer enforcing Covid mandates unless the artist specifically requests it. You can find specific show details on our website at cobbscomedy.com.

Is it okay to use the 2 drink minimum for food instead of drinks? That is, does ordering 2 food dishes fulfill the 2-drink minimum per person? Going with a few people who don't drink, so want to know in advance, thanks!

No, you have to have 2 drinks.. it's also good for non alcoholic beverages...

Do I need to print out my tickets or can I show it from my phone?

    Phone is totally fine!

How early is recommended to show up for decent seats?

Hey, thanks for your question! We always recommend at least 30 minutes prior to showtime. Especially if it's a sold out/crowded show. Hope this helps!

I hate that all the major comedy clubs have a two-drink minimum. I'd rather just tack on $20 to the ticket price. That being said, Cobb's does have better options for non-drinkers like me.

However, we were seated too close to the front wall that sometimes we just ended up seeing the comedian from behind. I'm sure we would've had a better experience if we didn't have a somewhat obstructed view. There's also a two drink minimum per person, including both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options. This rule was a bit strange to me because all the other comedy spots I've been to allowed me to select a food item to meet the two item minimum. However, Punch Line is very strict on the fact that your two items have to be beverages. The cocktail I got was unmemorable. I should've just gone with something premade and canned. I'd come back here for a comedian that I'd want to see live. Otherwise, I wouldn't go out of my way to come back.

I didn't care for the fact that no where online could I find any comedian names beforehand - therefore, I wasn't expecting much. Bought tickets online ($53 for 2 with svc fee) a few weeks in advance. For entry, a woman checked our names off a list then we walked down the flight of stairs that had prohibition era decor. The venue is intimate. Seating is extremely tight (definitely seats less than 100 people). I would suggest that if you go, do NOT sit up front for obvious reasons (like being the subject matter and/or ridiculed), but also because those in front rows were literally spit on (unintentionally of course) by the headliner that raised his voice/yelled as part of his skit - from the side view where we sat and because of the spotlights, we seriously saw the spit travel through the air, land on people who then retracted a bit in shock - we were disgusted, especially in this post-COVID pandemic climate. One of the other comedians stopped his skit and reprimanded those in the audience that were talking - he was so annoyed and wasn't shy about it. We parked in the parking garage across the street, $20 for less than 2 hours wasn't exactly worth it. I wouldn't be against returning as long as there are funny, well known comedians scheduled and marketed - but we won't sit up front :)
