He was very knowledgeable & confident yet not pushy at all. I felt comfortable buying a car from him and would absolutely recommend him to my family & friends. I usually dread going to a dealership for a new car because of past negative experiences (at other area & out of state dealerships). Capital CJD in Garner isn't the closest to my house or work (I live in Durham), However, my experience here was fantastic and absolutely worth the drive. I recently bought the 2014 Jeep Cherokee Latitude from CJD & recommend Harry Dew to anyone that is looking for a new car. Also, I am sure I will be purchasing all of my future cars from him! Thanks Harry for making the buying process SO easy! I love my new Cherokee!

I visited Capital CJD to look at a new Jeep for a purchase. It was easily the worst experience…read moreI've ever experienced at a new car dealership. The salesperson that assisted me was incredibly boorish and did a very poor job with the sales process, as well as not emphasizing the value proposition of a Jeep versus the competition. This person's performance not only convinced me to purchase my vehicle from someone else, but also to purchase a Ford. The only reason I'm giving a two-star review is because I eventually got to take a vehicle on a test drive. For the life of me I do not understand why the showroom features a used Mercedes Benz G class instead of a Jeep product. Jeep's flagship vehicle, the Grand Wagoneer, was stuck in the back of the showroom instead of being the vehicle you see front and center when you walk in the door.

A big thank you to Shumaker Motors Chris and Barbara Shumaker. i am very very happy with the…read moreservice i got. I saw a Toyota Van like i was looking for on FB Market place that Shumaker Motors had posted. I messaged Barbara and to my surprise she responded right back to me so very nice and not pushy at all like a lot of sales people are. I set up a appointmen for 10:00 this morning and i couldn't make it due to over sleeping. I messaged Barbara and told her that i woulden't be there at that time and i would be there later in the afternoon. Again to my surprise she was very nice to me. I got there about 3:30-4:00 and the Van was exactly like i wanted. Chris and i went on a test drive for about 20 minutes or so. For the first time in my life dealing with someone Chris encouraged me to really hammer down on the highway to check it out real good. I had already researched the reviews on the Van and knew what i was geting. To my surprise Chris was really up to date on everything about the Van and he was very honest with me. Believe me i have never met anyone as honest and professional as Chris and Barbara are. THEY treat and taik to you with respect and pride. You are a Valued Costomer. I will be going back in the morning to pick up my Van, I encourage everyone wanting a vehicle to go see Chris and Barbara. I promise you will be very happy. It was a Blessing from God that i saw the posting on FB Marketplace. Thank you again Chris and Barbara Shumaker. I am a very happy Customer and i will be Highly Recomending Shumaker Motors.

I have had three bad experiences here with Joe the service tech. He is rude and condescending. I…read morewent in for a simple oil change getting my vehicle ready for a family trip and as I was leaving the lot noticed my car was not driving as smoothly as when I came in. It was my vehicles first oil change as it is a brand new car. When I stopped at the first red light to get gas so we would be ready to leave the next day for our trip the car totally shut itself off and I had to restart the vehicle. It jerked a bit on my way home and spoke to my husband about it. That evening I had to drive my husband to the emergency room and right away it started having the same issues. I was nervous we wouldn't make it to the hospital and really nervous about making it back home at 3:30 in the morning. It's the last thing you need to worry about in that situation. The next day I called and tried to come in and was told they couldn't see me until that afternoon and not guaranteed to have my vehicle that day. I told her this was obviously an issue that happened the day before and was nervous about even driving back to the service area. We went ahead and drove there to speak to someone in person because obviously not something they let you do. When we arrived we explained the situation and I was told to go inside to speak to the guy in the red shirt (name JOE). He is the same guy who has been rude to me before but still went in and showed him a paper I pulled from my glove box and explained the situation. My husband was also with me as I made him come because for some reason some mechanics like to treat women differently in these situations unfortunately. Right away Joe tried to say the oil change would have nothing to do with what seemed to be happening and was probably "bad gas" as if I am a total idiot. My grandfather was a mechanic and I know my way around vehicles pretty well. Also took mechanics in high school so not a total idiot. He also mentioned a software issue but didn't think that was it. Still going with bad gas. I tried to explain that was definitely not the case but apparently he already made up his mind. We told him we had a trip planned and needed it back as soon as possible or would need a loaner car if they couldn't do that. He said all his guys were at lunch (it was 11:30 and what kind of department takes lunch all at the same time??) We left the vehicle there and went to pack hoping to hear back in a few hours. By 3:00 when we didn't hear back I called and was unable to get any info. I tried another number which goes to Stephanie at the express lane since I had from the day before. She said I had called the wrong number and when I explained the situation she said she was unable to get in touch with someone for me. Her desk is a few feet away and didn't even have to tell to speak to the guys at the service desk. My husband then decided to call and see what he could find out as I was getting the run around. My husband tried to call as I was getting the run around and he also had no luck. The last time I called I told Stephanie I wanted to stay in the line and speak to someone in charge and did NOT want to speak to Joe. When someone finally got on I tried finding out the update and was getting nowhere. I didn't realize it was Joe I was speaking to until he started raising his voice again saying it was bad gas and how we would need to get insurance involved since warranty would not cover it. However he had not yet tested the gas to confirm....wait so you have had the car for over 3 hours and you still haven't tested it or know what's wrong but you are still saying something that is clearly wrong. I then said I wanted to speak to Bill Lee. Joe then lied again and said his office was at the other end of the building and could not get him. We knew we would have to go in person yet again and loaded another car to go figure out what was going on. My husband went in to speak to Bill Lee as I was going to totally lose it if I had to go and speak to Joe or anyone as incompetent as him again. Of course my husband had no issue when he spoke to Bill and found out guess what it was a software update that needed to be done and our Wagoneer was ready to go. Hmm no bad gas?? Give me a break!! It is extremely sad women are still treated this way in 2024!! Bill even made a comment to my husband that he had been married 21 years and realized that he needs to speak to women differently. No how about just doing your job and I don't know maybe not be condescending to customers. If I spoke to my patients that way I wouldn't have a job.

We bought a jeep for my wife from here new and the sales side went mostly easy. Of course this is…read moremy wife's vehicle and she has been bringing it there for all oil changes. We just had a discussion last night as I saw a 67.00 charge on the cc. We talked and I found out that is just for an oil change. We talked further and found out the tech wanted her to rotate the tires. Said looking at the tires it really needed it. So my wife says we just put new tires on when on vacation 2 weeks ago.(we got a nail and changed all while on vacation). So anyway, he says ok. Then says air filter needs changing. She said my son just changed it. He says oh, ok. In any event, further conversation leads to other service issues with my wife. A cabin filter? 100 something? Etc etc... My question is 67.00 for an oil change for a 4 cylinder seems excessive but it's a dealership. However, you don't include rotation? You just change the oil? Is the oil filter included. I have a newer gmc 2500 that I get changed from a non capital dealership who services since new and I pay 57.00 for an oil change and includes rotation. Each and every time. No favors to me just the standard price for that vehicle. They never hound me to fix anything else. Not once and it's got 25,000 miles on it. My wife's has 40,00 and they have been recommending everything to her. I guess all I can say is I recommended to never go there again and shame on the dealership if your taking advantage of a woman. That's sad. We bought the jeep from you.
