Brought my dad in for a shave. He hasn't had a good old school shave in forever. This is the place for it! Stop in and see Glen! read more

Coastside Barber Shop - Great shave! - Barbers Near Me - Pacifica, California

Coastside Barber Shop is a tale of two barbers. Sam, the Hispanic gentleman, is patient, careful, skilled and listens to what the customer wants and provides it. Glen, the Caucasian guy, is fast and rough and ignores the customer's requests. It almost feels like your head is being attacked with a hedgeclipper, and he seems intent on beating some barber speed record. If he spends five minutes on you consider yourself lucky (unlucky?). If you ask for a #4 on the sides you will get a #2, because Glen cuts your hair the way he wants, not the way you want. Unfortunately, the shop does not take reservations, so you are unable to choose your barber, and get whomever jumps out of their seat first. Consider yourself forewarned. read more

The sign says it all! "Old school New Styles." We had the honor of having Great Uncle Sammy Tellez be our (8 month old) son's first barber. First time haircut experience was beautiful! read more

Very fast and efficient. Very skilled with all the tools of the trade. I was in and out with a basic cut and beard trim within 15 minutes. Been going to these old school places all my life and this one is not a let down. Only issue was the price. Paid double what I was paying in LA, but for the experience and the atmosphere I would happily pay it again. read more

Very disappointed. I never go to salons because I fully support the "old school" barber shop scene, however, the cut I received today was by far the worst I've ever received...anywhere. We're not talking about a complex cut either...1.5 on the sides 2 on the top faded together. I wasn't happy about the cut and seeing as it took him a total of 3 minutes to cut and trim I expected a standard $15. Nope, $22!!! I would not recommend this shop and I would stay as far away as possible. read more

If you are looking for quick, reasonably priced haircut, don't need shampoo, beard trimming, massage, etc., just fast, simple haircut without appointment or hours wait, Coastside Barber Shop in Pacifica is best choice. This Pacifica branch is apparently addition to SF shop, (lady said due to being new, have not set up credit/debit card yet, but are working on, but cash is good for now). Was able to show up with no appointment, Saturday, in & out within 20 min, no complaints on haircut. $25 bucks plus tip. Compared to prices, wait, anywhere else, figure they're bargain. Highly recommend. read more

This is an old school barbershop. It's open Tuesday through Saturday; Sunday & Monday being the traditional days off for barbers. Glen (the owner) and Sam are the barbers that are there most often. There may be a third barber. They were closed during the latest COVID-19 restrictions but opened again this week. Unfortunately, they are permanently closing on February 28, 2021 according to the sign on the door. That's a Sunday so maybe Feb. 27 is their last day. The lease is up and I don't think they couldn't come new terms. Sad to see them close; I have been going there exclusively for several years. read more

I have had the pleasure of spending time in this barber shop and it's everything you would want a barber shop to be. The barbers are excellent at what they do (cuts, shaves, etc.) and the atmosphere is fun and welcoming. I would recommend this shop to anyone who wants a great cut at a great price. read more

This is my favorite barber shop in town. The staff are talented, nice and accommodating. I can't recommend it strongly enough!

From the moment you walk in until you walk out, a top-notch experience all around. Don't know a better barbershop in the Bay Area.

I went to this place once before. It was fine. He shaved my head. No problem. No nicks. no cuts. This time he chopped my head up like a head of lettuce. I'll probably have permanent scars. After applying the styptic pencil about 8 times throughout my shave, he has the nerve to ask me, how did that feel? He doesn't really need my business and that's cool with me. I won't be back read more

Why not give these local guys 5 stars. They are good hearted and friendly, the price is reasonable, and the haircuts are acceptable. I go here frequently now. read more

I have been coming here for a couple of years just when I need to clean up the sides with a fade. They are nice but this last time that I went I asked for a 1.5 fade on the sides. Then the next thing I knew he was buzzing the top of my hair! He said "I thought you wanted me to" I asked him to clean it up best he can but I ended up with a horrible haircut. It was long in the back middle of my head shorter then long in the front. I was expecting him to offer it on the house to keep me as a consumer, but he did not. Lost loyalty. Now time to look for a new shop. read more

this is a pacifica institution. it's been here 55 years, and so has the barber. while that does make the owner upwards of 70, his hands are steady, and his eye is good. he's extremely friendly and can talk your ear off, but not bored you with his chatter. this place looks like what you expect a barbershop from the 50s or 60s. the price is reasonable. he listens to what you want. and he's efficient and friendly. what more could you want from a barbershop? read more

This place is an old school barber shop friendly guys working there my cut was done just like i asked would recommend them

WOW! I hadn't been in here in probably 35 years, LOL My mom used to bring me here when I was a kid. Walked in with no appointment at 9am on a Saturday. Was greeted and treated like I'd been coming there for 20 years. I explained what I wanted and Glen proceeded to be a perfectionist while Frank told stories to everyone else. GREAT atmosphere! I was expecting Glen to pull out a steel rule and measure each one of my hairs for the proper length, that's how meticulous he was being! I don't think I will ever go anywhere else again. And my haircut came out exactly how I wanted it. read more

Horrible experience. Left literally feeling like the barber hated me. He never pulled out scissors (only used clippers) and gouged my head in several locations. Traumatic experience. read more

Fucking horrible, I go in for a specific beard and fade haircut and he completely butchered both of em, all my hair is uneven, seemed really lazy didn't ask questions just cut "some" hair and called it finished. I had to tell him to fix several things till I was fed up and just left and decided I'd go somewhere else, not to mention I had to go to my brothers wedding looking like a piece of shit so I'm done, ya might as well cut your own hair blind folded. read more

Very nice folks, listened to my husband's requests and no waiting. $22 plus tip. read more

Solid haircut for $22, good conversation, and a barber with 60+ years of experience. In my home town even! I have a feeling I will be coming here a lot. read more

Probably worst haircut I've ever received. Completely butchered my hair. Could not do a fade. Very sloppy. Back is uneven and crooked. I'll give them the star for their friendliness, however. read more

I've been coming here for years and can't imagine going anywhere else. The haircuts are fantastic, the barbers are happy to have a good time or to leave you in peace, and the place is an old school classic. This place is an absolute treat. read more

Good old fashioned barber. I've been here four times now so I feel comfortable writing a review. The guys that run this place extremely friendly, professional, and give a good hair cut for a decent price. Only negatives is I feel that the hair cuts could be cleaner and I walk away with a ton of lose hairs forcing me to take a shower. With all that being said this place is my new barbershop and I will definitely be coming back. read more

Frank and Glenn are the best. this is the last real Barber Shop around, no appointment, just go their and get a hair cut. gotta love the old stories and the 60s surfer decore. The only place I know you can still get a REAL Crew Cut (Flat Top). The Guys have cut my hair for years, and I won't go any where else. read more

Local barber shop. Doesn't smell like a salon. Wish they had playboys on the magazine rack, but all in all a good dudes barber shop.

I brought my son there he had a gift certificate. It took him a while to warm up to the chair. he hates to get his hair cut. Glen was so patient, understanding and made my son feel comfortable with some light~hearted jokes. the BEST haircut EVER! We've been all over the bay area. this is old school and a real barber! We found the best place in our own backyard! read more

This place is really bad if you're looking to get a clean cut this isn't the place to go glen was the one who cut my hair he seemed nice he was a cool guy at first but when I went home to see me hair I had a bunch of patches and some balled spots left In my hair I went back and they where just rude I don't recommend this place read more

This barbershop is the best. The place is an old school style barbershop with great guys working there who deliver consistently solid haircuts. I love going to this spot, they pay attention to detail and give me the exact cut I ask for every time. Great spot. read more

After searching for a real barber that will give a hair cut and shave, I found one. He gave a great cut and my face never felt smoother. He is also a member of the Elks club, so it's always nice to support another brother Elk. read more

Terible, he spent maybe 10 minutes cutting my hair and I left with cuts on both of my ears, both sides of my neck and some blood on my shirt. Not going back read more

Great price, great haircut. Chill old school type of place.

I have never been to a better barber. Professional, quick, and affordable. Got the style down exactly how I requested!

Today 3/19/16 marked the day of my worst haircut in my life. I am new in town and looking for a barbershop that can fade. I checked Yelp and it has an average review. I don't care about the $22 fee but I care about the back of my neck not bleeding from an old razor. Never coming to this shii read more

Old school feel, good haircuts and shaves. Have not been disappointed with the results. I will continue to go back..
