An awesome old school barber shop! I've been coming here for a few years now and won't go anywhere else to get my hair cut! The guys are great and make you feel like a regular even if it's your first time. They do regular hair cuts for regular guys and if you feel so inclined a straight razor shave for that extra close super smooth shave you can't get anywhere but a traditional barber shop. In a time when more and more places are getting bought out by big companies its nice to know the local barber shop is still around to take care of you! read more

UPDATE: Her response below is a LIE. We NEVER came back, NEVER even met this lady. She did NOT cut my son's hair. She offered to, but we couldn't risk going back to someone too unreliable. This is crazy. What does your personal business have to do with you honoring your obligations/ appointments with your customers anyways. Very UNPROFESSIONAL. Please believe the recent reviews about people making appointments and no one being there. I Made an appointment today for 3:30 and arrived on time to see a sign saying they would be back at 3:15. Waited 5min past appt time and still nobody was there. Called and she said she would be there in 20 min, called back and said it would be more like 25 min. This delay would have caused us to miss our next appointment, so we had to leave. NOTE TO OWNER: please don't accept appointments you aren't able to honor. I would have rather you said you couldn't take the appointment so that I could have made other arrangements. That is not good business practices and very unprofessional. Based on your other reviews, you do this often. Not cool, do better and be respectful of people's time. read more

Mary has been my go to hair stylist for the past year. Very professional and skilled. I usually get the bald fade. I would recommend Coastside Barber & Salon to anyone looking for a clean haircut. read more

I've been going here for several years, off and on, across the change in ownership. Mery has managed to maintain and even improve the atmosphere, and at least for my hair, she is the better barber. The prices are reasonable. I've paid 3X as much in a more boutique shop, but the haircuts are better here. read more

I started going here about two months ago because it is close to my work + school. I am very picky with barbers and stylists and I am impressed with the consistency of good haircuts I have gotten here. I usually ask for a low fade with a trim asking to leave it longer on the top. Mery is the owner and main stylist, she always kindly welcomes me to her shop, has good energy and leaves me feeling and looking good :) read more

Had a appointment at 330pm. We get there and there was a sign on the door saying "be back at 315pm". We showed up at 325pm. Then called her. She told us to wait for 20mins and she'll be there. My son has a baseball game at 5pm. And tomorrow is picture day. F this lady and her barbershop. So unprofessional. read more

Booked an appointment online and when I showed up no one was there, the store was closed. read more

Coastside Barber Shop - Confirming my appointment. - Barbers Near Me - Pacifica, California

Coastside barbershop in Pacifica is my husband's favorite. He goes there regularly to get haircuts and a shave. Mary, the owner, is delightful. The prices are reasonable. There usually is not much of a wait, if at all. She is opened five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday. Heloves the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. There are not many local barbershops around anymore, so he really treasures this one. read more

Most of the reviews here are for the former owners / workers who are all no longer there and it is just not the same. The new owner keeps random hours, the hours posted say they open at 11 am, wasted multiple trips there on multiple days only to find them closed after 11 am! We have multiple boys, the new owner cut my boys hair, she did not listen to what they want and hacked their hair - They refuse to go back there now. Sad to say we have to find a new barber shop. read more

Coastside Barber Shop is my go to location for a quick and easy haircut. Mery is amazing and is always professional and meets your expectations and requests. She typically accepts walk ins, which is super nice so that I can get a fresh cut anytime on my own schedule. Her "Angel's haircut" is my personal favorite. The ambiance of her shop is also superb. She usually has classic rock playing and is always open to having a nice conversation. In standard barber fashion, she will always ask you while working if you are happy with how it's going-- or if you are wanting something else. Also, if you are frequent client be sure to get your loyalty card punched. You can get your hair cut for free every once in a while! Regardless of the card, Coastside Barber shop offers very affordable haircuts. For the quality of her work, I'd definitely say it is a bargain to come here. Last but not least-- Mery also offers a free beer!! read more

I booked a hair cut days ahead of time with emails confirming my appointment. When I showed up for my appointment, the shop was closed, no one answered my calls or messages afterward. Complete waste of my time, never returning. read more

Mery is a great hairstylist. She does great fades! I've gone to her a few times now and she never disappoints. I won't go to any other barber in the Pacifica area but her. read more

Standing outside the barbershop with my son at the moment. I called few days ago and they confirmed they open today at 11:30 am. They no called no showed (there are others here waiting outside with appointments as well and have said they received text confirmations but now nothing). A waste of gas and time. Will never come here again. read more

I went it to get my haircut short after 3 years of not cuttings it. The barber was very excited and enthusiastic and did a awesome job with the fade. They were very nice and just the attitude was reassuring the entire time. read more

Alex at Coastside gave me a great cut and beard trim! Listened to what I asked for, made some better suggestions... I'll definitely come back. Could not recommend enough! read more

Great service, great haircut! Could not recommend any other barber shop in Pacifica. Mary is a great hairdresser and I always receive the haircut I want at a fair price. read more

Great little no-frills spot for cuts, trims, cleanups, and touch ups. Mary and Alex are both great at what they do. Friendly, relaxed vibe with fair pricing. Sat for Alex yesterday and now I look like less of a caveman than I have in quite awhile. Impressed indeed. Highly recommended. read more

My partner and I moved to Pacifica from east bay and we started getting our haircuts here recently. Super chill place. Our first time Mary cut our hair and she did a fantastic job. We came on a weekend this time and Alex was there and I asked for something a little different than last time, exceeded our expectations, best fade job I've gotten in a long time. Great place and great staff. Will be getting our ears lowered here from now on. read more

I loved my hair cut, color touch up, and layered hair. I never go anywhere else because she now's how to exactly match my color and knows how to cut my hair. I've been going to this shop for years and never has failed me. I do acting so I need it to look my headshot and she does really well all the time. I love this place. read more

If you are looking for quality haircuts, you found the right place with Coastside Barbershop. I reached out to Alex (discovered him through a local group post) and booked an appointment with him. Alex was friendly and was enthusiastic to start my haircut. The result of the haircut was phenomenal. Alex did an exceptional job. I will definitely be returning for the next haircut. The haircut is also not overpriced. read more

Great cuts. Always available. Quality cuts. Long time experience many years with her.

I've been going to Coastside for a few months now and I'm very happy with the quality of haircuts I've gotten there. Most recently, I got a cut from Alex, who's new at the shop. He did an excellent job at making sure he understood what I was looking for and then he went the extra mile to make the results look great. Highly recommended. read more

Great service and Alex is master craftsman of his trade. I went in on a Sunday as a walk in and didn't have to wait long. I love my cut and will definitely be back. read more

I've been following the owner throughout the years as she moved up and around locations, the only barber I trust! I'm male and she has been doing fades on me for years, if you need a fade, she's the one to trust. Her name is Mery. read more

Have been bringing my twin boys here for years! Great haircuts. Patient with them (they just turned 10), affordable.....overall a great experience every time!! read more

Just got a cut after 2.5 years of doing it on my own (uggh!). Sam listened closely to what I wanted, met my needs and requests, all the while having a great conversation with the fresh ocean air invigorating all! Excellent place to drop by, just beat the crowd around 3:00pm. Dan says "Go for it"! read more

Got my haircut by Alex. He did an excellent job. He pays close attention to detail. Very satisfied with his work. If you're looking for a new place to get a haircut come check them out. read more

I went in for a hair TRIM after coming here for over a year. I have always been fine with my services until my last. My hair was cut 1.5-2.5 inches more than requested, which is devastating to me as I have been trying to desperately grow out my hair for over 3 years. I have always gotten dry cuts here but for some reason my hair was not cooperating, the stylist continued hacking at my hair because it wasn't cooperating, leaving me not only with a lot less length, but horrible, choppy uneven layers. I called and left a voicemail and didn't get a response, I called again and was given no sympathy, no apology, just denial. I came in, showed images of my before and after and a receipt, I continuously was doubted that this was the work of the stylist even with proof. Terrible customer service, haphazard trims, and there is always hair everywhere. She will rush from one client to another even if that means using a tool, seat, etc covered in someone else's hair instead of taking a couple seconds to dust it off. Do not come here period. Got my money back, but doubting a customer and questioning them is terrible customer service. read more

I've been going to Coastside barbers for years and have gotten my hair cut by a few different stylists, all great and always satisfied with my cut. I believe the shop has changed ownership a few times and now Mary runs it. She is a great stylist and hires good people. Recently I got a cut from Alex, his fades are amazing and he worked quickly. I appreciated the quick turnaround since I had things to do. I'll be coming back! read more

I had not had a haircut in probably 30 years and was still pretty shaggy post covid. Walked in to Coastside barber because it's close to my house. The barber, Mary, did an excellent job. I'll be back. read more

Another great visit. Thanks you! Note: if you ware going in for a shave not all of the staff will offer a shave. Glen is one of the barbers who does the shave. read more

This place is under new ownership I have been seeing Mery at this shop for about a year. Mery always does a really nice job on my hair and my beard. She's also worked with my requests as I've changed lengths. It's a big plus that there's always great music playing. They have drinks and beers for customers and Mery will give you a free shampoo if you need one. Five stars! read more

Stopped in for a cut while traveling and had a terrific experience. My barber was great and the vibe was similar to my shop at home.

I highly recommend this shop! Mary was very kind and great at what she does. Best barber shop in Pacifica!

My boyfriend always gets his haircut at this barber shop and his hair has never looked better. He always gets the exact cut he asked for, and the barbers are extremely friendly. Can't imagine going anywhere else in Pacifica! read more

I've been going to Glen for the last 4 years, and I just started bringing my son for haircuts too! I wouldn't go anywhere else - he's a cut above the rest and a shear delight. read more

Best haircut in Northern California - come for the haircut...stay for the conversation.

This is an old school Men's Barbershop. When you walk in, it is 1965 all over again! There are two barbers here; the owner and a younger man. The owner who is 75+ years old gave me exactly the haircut I wanted, in a very short amount of time (with no errors, nicks or gouges). They also offer straight razor shaves! This place is classic! read more
