Walked in around 11:05am on a Friday and there was already somebody getting a haircut. Luckily I didn't have to wait long since his hair was really short and didn't need much work. When it was my turn, I showed Lisa, the barber, a previous picture of my haircut and asked for the same style. After she took a quick look at it, she went straight to work. She really took her time and insured every corner of my head was cut with precision. Not a single long hair was left uncut. Even with another person walking in and waiting, Lisa did not rush to finish my cut. I felt her passion to give me the best hair cut that I've ever asked for. When she finished, I took a look in the mirror, and it was perfection. 10/10 would come back again. read more

Quick and easy cash only. Kinda want to gatekeep so I don't have to wait. Recommend getting in before lunch to avoid wait but it's straight forward and great price. read more

I come here for half a year and never regret it, nice cuts for cheap price I recommend it read more

Health and safety measures taken? Yes! Value -yes! Service - yes! Lisa is very kind and thoughtful. Went here based on a recommendation from my brother. My mother had not had a cut in over 6 months, when normally she would go every two months. She finally caved and I made an appt. Made the first appt of the day and we started with a greeting and a temperature check. She suited up and the cut began. My mom got the best haircut I've seen in years and the Chinese chat session was a bonus. $20 including tip. We will be back! read more

Tried out this hair place as I was in the area, based solely on reviews and was not disappointed! Went for a walk-in on a weekend evening. The barber asked many questions for clarification and confirmation, and was conservative in cutting the length which I appreciate as I like longer style hair and many places just trim too much off at once. She was detailed and provided a good quality cut for the price. Don't expect pricy salon grade work, but if you are in need of a quality cut on a budget, this place is great to try out! As of Feb 2024, haircut is $18 without tip. This place is cash only! read more

After 16yrs driving out to South City from the City, Lisa still gives great haircuts. Parking has been getting more difficult to find nowadays is the only thing I can fault the location but not the shop. It's still less than $20 for a basic senior men's haircut. Wish ProCuts was open daily so any day I feel I need a haircut, they'll be open. read more

This is not a fancy place so if you are that type of person who wants to over pay for a simple men's haircut just to be served hot tea in a fancy cup while getting a 20 minute haircut that will cost you over $100, than ProCuts is not for you. I live in SF but I try to come down here anytime I can for my haircut since the person who runs it knows her job very well. As of February 2023 her price is $16 for a simple haircut. There is no pre wash or after wash. You sit down, she looks at you, she does her magic and you're out. So yes, after the haircut I get back home and wash my hair but honestly even if I tried other places (way more expensive) since I don't always have the chance to come to SSF, nobody has been able to give me a nice haircut like her! read more

I love coming here! Lisa has great attention to detail and we have great conversation. My haircut costs me $16 without tip, which isn't a bad price for the area and her level of service. I always have a great experience here. Try and make an appointment if you can because you can be waiting for a while (30-40 mins) if you come as a walk in. read more

Lisa is the "BEST"! Quick, Friendly, style to your desire. She has cut or perm the family's hair for a number of years. We follow her from her days on Irving St. SF. Location is great, easy access and parking. read more

Been coming here for a number of occasions now. This little hair cut shop on Grand Avenue can be easy to miss, but is totally with it. Evidently this shop has been around for a long time. I've gotten a short men's haircut by showing a picture on f previous cuts and the stylist had been good every time. It's also probably one too f the cheapest in the area. They're accepting cash only, so be sure not to come in with just a credit card. It can get busy since there's really only one person providing haircuts at at given time, so it's best to call ahead of time and set up an appointment. Alternatively you can call the same day to check how busy the que is before showing up. Usually the weekends will be busier, so try to go on a weekday if you can. read more

First timer at her place...she gave me a better cut in less time for $12 less than my previous barber. I didn't hate this and will go back

Clean and reasonable price. Lisa is very friendly. She takes her time to cut your hair to your satisfaction.

Lisa is the best!!! Although we moved to the East Bay Area, my husband Cris still comes to her for a haircut (I have conflicting scheds, she's closed on my days off, i miss her!) She knows hair very well, she is a pro due to long experience sniping hair. Her kindness too is admirable. We love you and miss you, Dear! Cris, Myle, Tin and Jacq read more

We went here for a haircut and perm for my boys. She did a really good job and took her time giving a fade to my other son. It didn't feel rushed and the prices were amazing. I was so satisfied I left a good tip because others out there charge $30-$50 for some garbage cuts. Will be coming here moving forward. read more

Just took my son here for his haircut and Lisa did a fantastic job. Showed a picture of how he wants his hair done and Lisa did the magic. She is very experienced and professional. She is also very patient. My son has very thick hair and she kept on going back and forth with the different razors to cut his hair. Price is also very reasonable, she only charges $18. I usually pay $25+ for another place I take my son for his haircut. Will definitely come back to see Lisa next time! read more

Highly recommend for kids haircut. Lisa is very thorough and attention to detail. Very affordable and fast too!

Cash only. They still charge $15 for men's cuts. I'm happy with my haircut. The review needs more words so here are more words.

Quality of the cut is great, and the price is very reasonable. I would recommend, and in fact I always cut my hair there.

Lisa has been cutting my hair for a while. ProCuts is in a hole in the wall on Grand. Very efficient if you call ahead and you can be in and out of there very quickly. I pay a $20 every time which includes tip. There are probably hundreds of other places to get good haircuts but if you are ever in the area and need a quick cut, then ProCuts is the way to go. They are closed on Mondays. -B read more

Solid quality value barbershop. Haircuts here are fast and efficient at a competitive price. This is not the place if you want to be on the cover of GQ. Also I would do not recommend scheduling an appointment because of the frequency and speed of new clients. Instead I would call and ask if it's relatively busy or ask for downtime schedules. Otherwise I highly recommend a haircut here. 5 stars in my book. read more

Lisa is great to giving solid haircuts. I've been coming here for years and this time I decided to attempt hair coloring. At less than $100 for full highlights AND a haircut?!? How could I NOT try it? I know that sounds like a lot, but to put it in perspective, I've paid $100 for partial highlights and full highlights usually cost over $120. My roomie also considers $200 for highlights to be relatively cheap. Back to Lisa,... On the Saturday afternoon before New Years, we started. I have a LOT of hair, and hair coloring is generally a very long and time consuming process. She actually turned away multiple customers, partly due to time consumed by my highlights (sorry guys!) There was another guy that was getting his white hair turn darker and he looked pretty happy with the whole process when it was done. After the color, it was time for shampoo and conditioning, and then the cut. I'm really happy with the cut. She, as always, did a great job. I'm still debating if I would recommend highlights for females (but maybe I'm just still getting used to it??) The guy that was getting colored seemed pretty happy with it, so I think if you are getting a single color done all over, it might be good, but I might look elsewhere for complex highlights. Highly recommend Lisa for the cut! read more

Lisa is great! It seems like she is the only one there so it's possible if you go on a weekend there could be a wait. I would recommend going on off hours, right after work or before closing on Sunday. Super small place but it is right next to the bakery. Reasonable prices and she does a good job. I came in to get 5in cut off, did it within 20min for $35. Not the most experienced with customer service but expect to go in for a haircut and leave, not really there to have a full on conversation or experience over the top greetings. I would come again though! read more

I started getting my hair cut here in 2011. Lisa has always been amazing. She's fast, reliable and inexpensive. The location is small and feels personal. She takes care of her customers (from what I can see when I'm waiting in the chair) and has always given me a great cut. I don't have a complicated hair cut so I can only talk from my experiences but there's a reason why I'm always giving her a 50% tip. I recently moved to Walnut Creek but I'm still willing to go to South San Francisco to get a hair cut. read more

I happen to walk by ProCuts today and inquired about services. She said she had time in the afternoon so I came back and this was my first experience there. This is a no frills, small salon, but I was pleased with my haircut and Lisa. She listened to what I wanted and cut my hair exactly the way I asked. She was quick but also thorough and skilled. If you are looking for high class ambiance and an elite salon, this is not for you. But if you just want a good haircut at a good price, I would give her a try. Haircut was $30 plus tip; no wash but did blow dry. She works by herself and was busy. I noticed she had a lot of male clients while I was there, but she did a great job for me as well. In comparison, my last quotes for a haircut from friend referrals ranged from $55 to $140. Lisa did everything I wanted for a fraction of the cost (cash only). I'm happy I stopped in to inquire about her services and got my haircut with her. read more

I called to make a appointment she took it when I a walk in on time you say you can cut curly hair and I have to wait just tell me you don't want to cut my hair read more

I want to give this place more stars, but man this place is not consistent on business hours or it's own holiday/vacation schedule. It's really hit or miss when it's open which translates to a huge waste of time coming. read more

Don't understand why the rave reviews. Yes, it is cheap but that is the only thing good about this place. First, the salon is dirty and full of hair. What's worse is that they don't clean it it and run the fan constantly, so the dirt and other people's hair (YUCK) constantly fly into you cloth, face and mouth!!! Second, the wait is longer than you would expect for this hole in the wall since people think they're getting a great (FALSE) haircut. She told me 15 minutes but it ended up to be closer to 1 hour! Speaking of the haircut, the worst thing about this "salon" is the terrible haircut itself. I've been there twice, and each time I hated my haircut. My hair is short and relatively simple to cut, but the hair stylist (questionable if you can call her that) really butchered it up. Twice, I really wanted to give her a chance from the great Yelp rating. She does not seem to care to form the haircut to your face or blend the cut in well. She just chop it off as fast as possible so that she can move on to the next customer. So if you don't want a long wait, or have hair and dust blow into your face, eyes, and mouth, or get a butchered up haircut, don't go here. Just go to somewhere else, anywhere! Avoid! read more

She very friendly and nice. She take her time to cut your hair right. Some other place they rush for more customer to cut hair.

Again - another haircut, and another satisfied customer. Lisa is pretty awesome - i was always get a very motherly vibe from her. FYI - call ahead, she gets pretty busy for a one woman show! read more

Haircuts to me are a tad bit expensive in South San Francisco. The salon near my house tries to charge me $14-$15 for a damn haircut. Not for a fancy pants haircut but an "asian fade". Ya'll know what I'm talking about, 0 or 1 fade up to some spiky hair. It's not that hard, maybe 15 minutes tops. Why charge me more than some places in SF? Anyways, i roll over to Procut cause the deal is hot for $10 a cut. Now that is a reasonable price for the type of style I want. Lisa is not much of a talker but if I wanted to talk to someone, I would call my shrink. I digress though, Lisa is efficient and always cuts it the way I want. I never feel rushed and it comes out the way I want it. That is all i ask. Sometimes there's a line in front of me but I usually sit and read a one month old issue of US Weekly or walk up and down Grand Ave. She is very quick and I usually get my cut in a maximum of 30 minutes tops. Parking here isn't bad at all although anything on the main strip is metered so be prepared to shell out a buck or 2 to park on Grand Ave. You can be like me sometimes and look for free parking, but f that, I make too much money for that! Nah, I'm just lazy and definitely not rich enough to not save a few quarters. Speaking of Procut, I should go get a cut now, maybe a burrito while I'm at it. read more

Quick, nice and cheap haircuts. Will definitely be making this my regular haircut place. Didn't have to wait long at all if you make an appointment. The lady at the store was also pretty flexible when I had to change my appointment twice. read more

I was pleasantly surprised at Lisa's professionalism and undivided attention to both me and my wife's hair. We may have found a new hair stylist. I highly recommend calling ahead. read more

Minus one star because of location (i hate slugging meters)... Lisa is great. Not much of a talker but its okay because she gets the job done and done right. Only once has she effed up my hair... but all the other times... shes right on point. I dont understand how this woman works 6 days a week all year round. She is the only person manning the store. The price is just right. $10 for just a regular mens hair cut. I've never had to wait more than 10mins when i go. Then again i go at odd hours before i head to work. I recommend going to Pro Cut. Supercuts got nothing on Pro Cut! read more

Simple, utilitarian place with friendly service and a good haircut. What more can I ask for? She took the time to understand what I was looking for and then did it right. This is my go to place now. read more

Minus one star but only because it's cash only. Lisa was as awesome as the others on here have said. She's very kind and knows her business well. I don't think my hair has ever looked as good as it does now. She left it at the perfect length that I need it to style the front and faded my hair perfectly. I walked in with no appointment because I'm just not one to worry about those things and was ready for the cut in no time. This is definitely my haircut place of choice! read more

Lisa is great for a quick clean cut/trim. I have been going to her for years. Even before she moved to this SSF location. I usually call on Saturday and make a same day appointment. Sometimes I just feel like I need a trim and I really like it when she can take me on the same day. When I had long hair, I had her trim and layer it. That was great. When I had short hair, I had her cut a bob. That was also great. Sometimes, I want something more specific. And if you tell Lisa, she totally accepts your request. So don't be afraid to speak up. She is very accomodating. Please note Cash Only. read more

Make sure you call ahead, especially on weekends. Even with an appointment we made that morning, we ended up waiting a good 15 minutes. NBD (no big deal), since we had only called a few hours in advance and knew it was only going to cost us $10 + tip for D's chia pet-status hair. Last time we came, it was a slow weeknight, but D's haircut was not good. :( A little lop-sided and just all-around funny. We weren't planning on coming back, but we couldn't get an appointment with Katie at Sharon's Beauty Salon in Daly City so we settled for Procut again for the convenience. Surprisingly, it seems like Lisa does better under PRESSURE than when things are slow and easy-going. She apologized multiple times for keeping us waiting, but hey! She made D's hair look great in 10-15 minutes for $10! No frowns all-around. Only smiles. We might be back on another Saturday (when it's always humming in here) and capitalize on the busyness of the shop, which we're hoping will up our chances for another excellent haircut. :) read more

I've been coming here consistently for the last 4 years. She does a consistently good job for me and never rushes the cut. I've been there so many times now and she knows exactly what I'm looking for Some days when she's a little less busy, I'll strike up conversation. She has lots of fun stories to share and it's a great way to pass the time while I get my hair cut :) As others have said, price is good, service is good. I'm usually in and out within 15 min, just make sure you call ahead. read more

There's really not much to review, because I am a guy that gets the same (or slightly modified) style of haircut. I don't do anything fancy like dyes and straightening or curling, but I've seen it done. Lisa is very experienced, listens and knows what I am describing when I come in. Very nice and the prices for my haircuts are a bargain compared to these barbers around the area that charge up to $30 for the same haircut (Really!?). I'm glad I discovered this place and even though I moved, I still come by. Thanks Lisa! read more

If you are looking for a quick and inexpensive haircut, this is the place! Cash only, $12! What a deal compared to barbers around the area! Depends on what you are looking for or how detailed you want your haircut. For me, I needed a haircut badly and I don't get off work till after 6, luckily this doesn't close till 7. Simple and quick. I recommend coming here. I'm particular with my haircuts, but I needed one badly. Overall I would say my haircut was a good 7.5/10, got the job done. Worth checking out! read more
