Part 1: Was browsing Facebook at around 9:00PM and came across United Windows/Bear Windows…read more Although I had already received 4 estimates from previous window dealers I had previously interviewed, I decided to move forward anyways and complete the online information appointment request. Wow within 5 minutes I received a message from United/Bear about my inquiry and requesting additional information regarding my window project. The person was a live person and not AI. I was not expecting a call that promptly but it was absolutely welcomed as I am looking to install new windows soon. Our interaction was very professional and cordial. When asked I requested an appointment the next morning as I had limited time availability for the week. I was informed that Joey Carlin would be calling me in a moment to schedule a time. And yup Joey was on the line calling. Spoke with Joey and I could not believe that I was accommodated with a 2:00PM appointment time the next day. What outstanding customer service! And Joey was just as courteous and professional as Jesse whom Joey informed me that Jesse, one of the owners, was the person who originally messaged me. I mentioned to Joey that if he was able to make it earlier then I would be open to that. He stated that he would text me if he could and when he was on his way. Well appointment was set and the next day I received a text from Joey informing me that he could come earlier at 1:30PM for our appointment. Fantastic! At 1:30PM Joey drove up right on time. During our appointment Joey was extremely personable and informative about his products and the installation process. I asked every question I could think of from what I learned during my other estimates of the other window dealers. Joey was very knowledgeable and answered every question satisfactory. During our interaction I never felt like I was getting a sales pitch but more of a presentation and an education. Since I live close to the manufacturing show room, Joey even offered to set a visitation time for me to tour the company and see the process with Jesse one of the owners which I did take him up on his offer and will be attend the next morning. After all my questions were answered Joey showed me an estimate based on exactly what we discussed and stated that if I had any question about the estimate after I had time to review it then I could always call him with questions. He said that he might be able to arrange his schedule to meet me at the plant with Jesse the next morning if I wanted which was more customer service then I had experienced from other dealers. But I told him it was appreciated but meeting Jesse would be enough. I can tell you that their was absolutely no pressure to make a buying decision on the spot nor to sign on the dotted line. Joey additionally informed me of their financing options should I want to finance my window project. This was an absolute stressless no pressure educational experience that made this process a pleasant experience. Joey and I even had conversations about family and other topics witch had nothing to do with the selling process. And he was sincere about the conversations and not just making small talk. Joey was very professional, friendly, not stuff, educational, informative. I will write Part 2 of my review once I tour the manufacturing plant, my interaction and my decision in a few days. But I can tell you at this point given the interaction with Jesse and Joey, the product quality I had seen and the estimate price, it's almost a no brainer. However, the sizes are all different and not standard. When it comes time to replace old windows that don't open anymore, this company is our go to. They manufacture custom retrofit windows and they also have team of contractors to handle the replacement as well. All streamlined service. They first come out to your house to measure all the windows, they the office sends you a quote with the sizes and prices of each window and then labor if you want them to install for you. After you agree and sign the contract, they schedule a date with you for replacement. The quality of their windows is very good, you can select the standard or for larger windows you can select higher grade and thicker glass. The windows we replaced back in 2005 still works like new. All double pane vinyl and slides very nice. Service is superb, their contractors are very good, fast efficient and very professional. Highly recommend.

Completely remodeled two full bathrooms and a powder room, gutted and replaced everything (new…read morefloors, tiles, vanity, toilet, etc). Both full baths had small tubs, so we changed one to a standing shower and put a larger tub in the other one. Met with seven contractors, choosing Modern Concepts/Charles was an easy decision. His price was fair, around middle of the pack, and he was punctual, approachable, and attentive - he was really listening to our requests instead of that fake, pretend listen. On top of all the moving parts in our main remodel, we also asked him to do random fixes and touch ups throughout the house like patch holes here and there, replace a light fixture part, change some GFCI outlets. No matter how big or small, Charles remembered and did every single one of them. Best of all, his quoted price remained the same from the day we met to the day it finished (alright, it did go up by $250 because we replaced the water supply angle stops, and asked him to drive out of the city to pick up two ridiculously heavy bathroom vanities). In a profession were it is a very real possibility that quoted prices may substantially increase as the job unfolds, I am very thankful for Modern Concepts' honesty and integrity for keeping their word from Day 1. Throughout the remodel process, Charles did a great job keeping me in the loop. I would stop by every 2 or 3 days to check on the progress, and every question or concern that was brought up, Charles was quick to address them. Whenever I was on site, any requests or questions I had for his team, they were always nice and willing to address them as well. His team is a good reflection and extension of their leader. Besides price, my other main concern was the practicalities of the remodel. My place has 3 floors with very narrow and tight angle stairs. Everything had to be stored in the garage which is on the first floor, so carrying it all up and down every single day was going to be labor intensive, to say the least. In the initial walkthrough with one of the other contractors we met, they literally complained the entire time about how difficult this remodel would be. Charles never had that attitude; his response to any and all challenges was simple, "no problem". It will forever be a mystery to me how he and his team carried the duo vanity with an attached counter top into the master bathroom. Once the job was near completion, we requested some grout to be touched up. Charles agreed without hesitation. Upon inspecting the results during our final walkthrough, I noticed some more areas that could use minor work. Again, Charles had his "no problem" demeanor. I was present the day his staff came to do the final touch ups and every spot I brought up to his attention, he fixed it with a great attitude. We couldn't be happier with the end result. The only problem now is that everything is so nice that we just want to look at it and not use it. The experiences I cherish most are those were you walk away with meaningful connections.
