Unfortunately, the home didn't match the location, and several issues made our stay less comfortable than expected. It was disappointing. What We Loved * Unbeatable beachfront location * Gorgeous ocean views from the living area and outdoor space * Easy access to the sand and beautiful sunsets Where the Home Falls Short * Beds are extremely high -- so tall that we needed a step stool to get on and off. * Bathrooms are tiny, barely larger than an airplane lavatory. It's difficult to move without bumping into something. * Oversized furniture makes the small rooms feel even more cramped. * Overall cluttered feel throughout the home. * Carpets hold a lot of dust, and we found ourselves sneezing more than usual. * No dishwasher, yet oddly there are two microwaves. * Outdoor furniture is in poor condition, with many pieces filthy & unusable. * Wood‑burning fire pit creates ash that blows everywhere, making it hard to enjoy the outdoor space. * Some areas were not cleaned properly upon arrival. To their credit, the cleaning crew did return to address those spots after we reported them. * No screens on any windows or doors, which became a real issue during a heat wave. We opened windows in the cooler mornings and evenings, and insects poured in. * We even had to vacuum insects off windows that don't open, and some windows were missing hinges entirely. * Laundry was an ordeal -- when the washing machine ran, the pipes vibrated violently & loudly inside the walls. * Linens were full of lint, and even after washing them, the pillowcases (which were padded) continued to shed. Overall The location and view are undeniably amazing, but the home itself needs significant updates, repairs, and a more thoughtful approach to cleanliness and comfort. With some attention and investment, this could be a fantastic rental -- but in its current state, it fell short of expectations.

It was the home of Native Americans and her son found an arrowhead. She provided water and hiking poles if needed, which my daughter used descending the mountain. Communicating with her prior to our hike, her recommendations of natural sights to see created our afternoon trip in the area including Moonstone Beach Dr, Elephant Seal Vista Point, and Ragged Point in Big Sur. Seeing elephant seals laying on the beach as well as swimming in the water was amazing. After our hike Laura recommended seeing the sunset over the ocean including time and we made it!

You couldn't ask for a better location. The house is cute, clean and cozy and has all the amenities you'll need for a beachside BBQ or holiday feast. On the 4th of July you can even see the fireworks in Morro Bay to the south AND in Cayucos to the north. The surf's pretty good too. Panoramic ocean views from both the family room and the master bedroom will take your breath away. The LoJacono's are really kind, professional and great to work with.

We rented a vacation home in Cayucos, CA through the Cayucos Vacation Rental Agency. We arrived in…read moreCayucos on a Sunday afternoon about two hours before check-in time for the rental. Cayucos was packed with tourists, and it took quite awhile to find a parking space. Finally, we were able to park and go to the agency. They told us the home was still being cleaned so we could not go in now. This was fine with us until we were told we would have to return later to get a key. My husband pointed out the obvious problems we had with parking and assured the women that we could be trusted to not enter the house early. One of the women who said she was an owner told us we had to pay for the bad behavior of prior renters. This woman told us we could sign the papers, now but we had to come back for the key. I objected and pointed out we were going to stay in the home for 5 days, but they "could not trust us for two hours"? My husband objected to the manner in which she was treating us which was quite demeaning. We are senior citizens and she was speaking to us at first as if we were toddlers. But then she yelled at my husband and told him she would return his money. We had family with us or else we would have taken her up on this. Her behavior was outrageous. She yelled at my husband to "get out of her face". We were so upset. My husband is 75 years old and is no threat to anyone. So, I do suggest using a different rental agency altogether or, at the least, make sure you have other people with you to witness what happens. The home itself was fine and met our needs. The yard in back and on the side is a tangle of old vines and such. There is no place in the yard to set up for a family meal.
