AFTER the install was completed and after my Yelp review. What a shady business. CENTRAL COAST HEATING & AIR DOESN'T PULL PERMITS! THAT PUTS HOMEOWNERS AT RISK! I'm extremely disappointed with Central Coast Heating & Air and feel obligated to warn other homeowners. After some red flags, I contacted the local Building Division directly and confirmed that this company did NOT pull the required permits for the work they performed. That's not a minor oversight; proper permitting is a California requirement for HVAC replacements and major installations, and it protects the homeowner, ensures inspections, and keeps insurance valid. It's in the mechanical code! Instead of being upfront or professional, they pushed ahead without following basic legal procedures. There are plenty of reputable HVAC companies on the Central Coast who actually follow code, take responsibility for their work, and don't cut corners. Unfortunately, Central Coast Heating & Air is not one of them. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want your job done legally, safely, and with integrity. A work colleague recommended Belluz, after another colleague mentioned Greg Belluz was a family relation, a great guy, and an honest businessman. Our buddy had gotten an estimate from a local (Santa Maria) business for nearly $10K. He called Belluz, and they came in at less than half the first estimate! Apparently, the first business was recommending an a/c system that would have been suitable for a home that was twice the size. We called Belluz and left a voicemail. They called back in a timely manner and we arranged for a visit to get an estimate. Greg arrived right on time, spent about 10 minutes surveying our home, and then discussed his proposal. He gave us a verbal estimate, and followed-up w/ a formal estimate via e-mail, two days later. Well within our budget, so we accepted the offer and scheduled an installation date. Again, Greg showed up right on time to do the work, and was finished in under 2 hours. A/C works like a champ!! Ron arrived on time and provided us with an overview of what the thermostat installation was going to be, (I explained to him the issue of not having heat in the house). He told us that he would inspect the furnace prior to starting work as it's what he always did. He was thorough in the inspection, using a scope to view the heat exchanges and he noticed that they were cracked. He showed me and seemed genuinely interested in making sure that I understood that the problem was bigger than a thermostat. He reminded me of my home warranty and stated that replacing it may be covered and encouraged me to reach out to them, even if he wasn't the contractor for the job. He left that day, not charging me anything because according to him, he didn't do the job, just an inspection. The home warranty contractor came, spent less than 5 minutes inspecting the furnace. I chose to work with Ron and Emily at Accurate because they seemed much more trustworthy, and I was right. I was able to contact them to book my furnace replacement, they worked with me giving me information every step of the way. He was professional and punctual and I can't speak highly enough. Replacing a furnace is not fun, but they made it less painful than it could have been. I am happy that we decided to go with Accurate Heating. Now my home is cozy, and my smart thermostat is set up. I highly recommend Accurate Heating.

So, long story short, I called Zierman Plumbing after a failed attempt at having my home warranty…read morecompany respond to a claim I had made four days prior. I had an active uncontrollable leak, and the provider that the home warranty company contracted with was a non responsive zero on my problem. After they didn't respond and the home warranty company threw up their hands, telling me I had to wait until the contracted provider (All Systems Plumbing, you can see the review I left for them if you look at my other reviews) made his report to the warranty company. When it was obvious I was on my own, I made an after hours call to Zierman and explained a little about what was going on and asked for the rates etc. she put me in touch with Chico, who was on call that weekend. Chico called me right back and I explained the issue, and Chico passed on his thoughts about what I was in for, noting that he would have to take a look at what was happening to really nail down the issue. I thanked him for his candor and said I would call back to "pull the trigger" should the warranty company completely fail me. Chico gave me a follow up call the following morning, I told him I was still waiting on the warranty company but I would get back as soon as I knew something. Chico offered to call later in the afternoon to see what was up. By the time he had called in the afternoon, I was done with the warranty company and ready to move forward with paying out of pocket. Chico said he would come the following morning, (Sunday) to see what was what. Within five minutes of Chico getting here on Sunday, he correctly diagnosed that my hot water supply line to the house was the culprit and made his way under the house to see where it was leaking. Chico quickly found that a CPVC "TEE" had split and was the cause of the leak. He then related that he did not have the similar glue in fittings but did have the more expensive "Shark bite" push lock fitting that he could use to get it fixed today. I asked him what he thought would be the best for the situation and he recommended waiting until the following day and use the glue in fittings that are similar to the existing fittings. Since we could shut off the water supply, that was what we did. Chico let me know he had a couple of jobs in the AM, but would be out in the afternoon, and get the leak fixed. Sure enough, Chico called early afternoon to let me know he was on his way. When he got here, he got right to it, and within the hour he had the bad joint cut out and the replacement installed. Another way that Chico went the extra mile was he called me the following morning to ask how things were and make sure that the issue was solved. Chico was very professional and very communicative which, as a homeowner with a problem was key to putting me at ease and let me know that he appreciated my business. He of course knew of my problem with the home warranty provider and was keen on keeping me in the loop. I have used Zierman in the past for other projects at the home and will continue to use Zierman plumbing and tell anyone I know who needs a plumbing professional to give Zierman a call first. These guys are professional, attentive, and are not out to sell you the most expensive repair. Thanks Chico for helping me out when our warranty company failed us at the worst time possible.

Jesus came through first day and was so motivated to try and solve our issue but our system was 34 years old and it was time to replace. We will definitely be using Allstar again.
