AFTER the install was completed and after my Yelp review. What a shady business. CENTRAL COAST HEATING & AIR DOESN'T PULL PERMITS! THAT PUTS HOMEOWNERS AT RISK! I'm extremely disappointed with Central Coast Heating & Air and feel obligated to warn other homeowners. After some red flags, I contacted the local Building Division directly and confirmed that this company did NOT pull the required permits for the work they performed. That's not a minor oversight; proper permitting is a California requirement for HVAC replacements and major installations, and it protects the homeowner, ensures inspections, and keeps insurance valid. It's in the mechanical code! Instead of being upfront or professional, they pushed ahead without following basic legal procedures. There are plenty of reputable HVAC companies on the Central Coast who actually follow code, take responsibility for their work, and don't cut corners. Unfortunately, Central Coast Heating & Air is not one of them. I strongly recommend looking elsewhere if you want your job done legally, safely, and with integrity. My solution? A home a/c system. Our fear? Getting ripped off. Enter Belluz! A work colleague recommended Belluz, after another colleague mentioned Greg Belluz was a family relation, a great guy, and an honest businessman. Our buddy had gotten an estimate from a local (Santa Maria) business for nearly $10K. He called Belluz, and they came in at less than half the first estimate! Apparently, the first business was recommending an a/c system that would have been suitable for a home that was twice the size. We called Belluz and left a voicemail. They called back in a timely manner and we arranged for a visit to get an estimate. Greg arrived right on time, spent about 10 minutes surveying our home, and then discussed his proposal. He gave us a verbal estimate, and followed-up w/ a formal estimate via e-mail, two days later. Well within our budget, so we accepted the offer and scheduled an installation date. Again, Greg showed up right on time to do the work, and was finished in under 2 hours. A/C works like a champ!! Even better, Greg guarantees his work, and said, "If you have any problems or concerns, call us and we'll come right over." We are grateful to Greg for his integrity and excellent customer service!! I contacted Accurate Heating and…read moreAir to simply install a new smart thermostat (because a broken thermostat is what a previous company had told us was the reason that we were getting no heat was). Ron arrived on time and provided us with an overview of what the thermostat installation was going to be, (I explained to him the issue of not having heat in the house). He told us that he would inspect the furnace prior to starting work as it's what he always did. He was thorough in the inspection, using a scope to view the heat exchanges and he noticed that they were cracked. He showed me and seemed genuinely interested in making sure that I understood that the problem was bigger than a thermostat. He reminded me of my home warranty and stated that replacing it may be covered and encouraged me to reach out to them, even if he wasn't the contractor for the job. He left that day, not charging me anything because according to him, he didn't do the job, just an inspection. The home warranty contractor came, spent less than 5 minutes inspecting the furnace. I chose to work with Ron and Emily at Accurate because they seemed much more trustworthy, and I was right. I was able to contact them to book my furnace replacement, they worked with me giving me information every step of the way. He was professional and punctual and I can't speak highly enough. Replacing a furnace is not fun, but they made it less painful than it could have been. I am happy that we decided to go with Accurate Heating. Now my home is cozy, and my smart thermostat is set up. I highly recommend Accurate Heating.
