I had an error appear on my Heating/AC thermostat after I experienced a power outage at my home. I contacted Allstar and the receptionist quickly scheduled a technician to come to home to troubleshoot it. Darin, arrived and quickly understood the problem. He told me the power outage had affected the thermostat and the AC, but not the heating system. Darin reset both systems by powering them off and back on and the error message cleared and both systems were functional again. They never returned calls and gave an outrageous estimate after I showed them and was clear with what I wanted. I just needed a wall air conditioner replaced at my mother's house and the units run about $500 at Home Depot and they emailed me a ridiculous estimate of $17K and when I called the person who answered the phone she said she would talk to Colton (I believe he's the owner) and get back to me but I never heard back from anyone (guess the job was too small, they could have said that). Colton also stated he could put in an air conditioner where my furnace is for about $5K at my house and I was very interested in doing this early next year however, they give terrible customer service, don't listen to anything you say and were so flaky I will go somewhere else when I'm ready! And I also found someone else to install the wall air conditioner for a more reasonable price. Ugh they have the worst customer service I've ever experienced! We arrived in solvang and found our heater wasn't working in our mobile home. I called our usual heating repair and was told they were scheduling months out. I asked my friend for a reference and she recommended Allstar heating. I called and they said that they would try to squeeze me in that same day but it would probably be the next. That was fine. I questioned the price of the capacitor, and was told they normally only charge $80 when they do other work. I just looked up the cost of the capacitor ... $6. 20X markup is not normal. read more

All star came and installed central air in my house, they had to move things around in attic to make it all come together. They were very professional and clean work site. I was very impressed with their work and have fast it came together. As I said no mess they cleaned up as they worked which was a big thing with me, I've got hardwood floors and their beautiful brilzillion hard wood floors so per my request that they be careful with them. NO scratches cause they had to cut a hole into ceiling for outtake or intake. They put down drop clothes and kept them protected. My central air works like a champ and it's nice being cool now on those central coast late hot summers. This is the central coast but each year it gets hotter here. I'm 4 miles from the ocean and we had 105 & 102 days and weeks of 90's. Why these homes didn't put central air in is beyond me. And they are ( ALL STAR ) IS BACKED BY COSTCO. That's says alot about ALL STAR to me. THANK YOU ALL STAR. I would recommend you guys to all my friends and anyone I talk to if asked, I'm very happy with my deluxe system & can't wait to get my 1800.00 plus cash card kick back to spend at Costco. The only regret I have is I just found out if you go to Costco you get the same product less price and you get a 20% gift card of the full price, that would of been $3000 card. I recently had Allstar come out to my 88 year old mother's house to give us an estimate on repairing her furnace. The gentleman that came out was very nice and polite to my mom however, the bid came in at between $8,000 and $11,000. Yikes!!! I had a friend of mine who had worked in the Heating and Air conditioning business before retiring come look at it for another opinion. He said there was one part that "might" be going bad and could be replaced for around $25. Quite a bit different than $10,000. Allstar said all the ducting needed to be replace, included asbestos testing and new register covers throughout the house. The ducting is getting old however there are no air leaks and it could be done for less than $500 and further more there is NO asbestos in their house. Beware of bids from Allstar and what they include!!!! read more
