As we all know BBQ places are a dime a dozen. However, the different unique items from Coach's menu sets them a pet from the crowd. Such as, the Priscilla's Brisket Tacos, it just doesn't get much better! I don't know where they get their tortillas from, but they are GOOD! The other items like the nachos, stuffed potatoes etc are great and especially if you're in the mood for BBQ, goood Texas BBQ but want it served with a unique twist! Food was decent but customer service was horrible. Two of their workers were unapologetically rude. It was our first time and he was no help. When we asked if we could get nachos with just meat and cheese...he looked dumbfounded and said "like you want it on bread or something?" He was put out that we had some questions. So once or twice a year I go to the McGregor area for work. It's always a one day deal. Ever since I discovered their brisket tacos, stopping there is a MUST. so this year I ended up there early in the day, and knew I would be driving back there late afternoon.... you guessed it.... I ate there twice yesterday. The fun part was when the guy behind the counter (I should have asked his name but didn't) decided to change it up a little and made them for me the way he likes them. (Your gonna have to go ask on your own) Another home run. (Pun intended haha) Now it's back to LA (to root for the Angels next year) and I will have till spring to decide which way I'm gonna have my tacos when I get back. Passing through McGregor on our way back home to Houston from visiting Waco. Read the reviews on this restaurant some were great and some were bad. One review wasn't even about the food, it was about the music playing inside the restaurant lol. Anyways, we were not disappointed with place! The "moist brisket" lived up to its name. Sausage was nice and juicy. Green beans were tender and flavorful. Mustard potato salad was just the right about of tangy-ness. French fries to me were perfectly fried and limpy. If you like limpy soft fries this place made them perfect. Staff was friendly as well. They have these mini corn muffins, super moist and just the right amount of sweet. I don't have any complaints about this place for it being the first time visiting. read more

Found this diamond in the rough when taking back road home. Great decor and some cool menu items. We had the coaches stack which is a sandwich which has brisket, sausage and fried jalepenos. You also get to add other toppings as we. Was quite good and the 2 sauces were both good. One was spicy and the other started sweet with a spicy kicker. Also had the white trash burrito. Similar to the Stack, but with cheese and clianto. Yummy. The decor was good and the young men working were friendly and very Polite. read more

I got here right at 8:05 on a Friday night. I was the only one in the place except for the staff which was 2. I heard this place was pretty expensive. Well, it was. 2 meats and 2 small sides both of which had been sitting awhile. $11.22 for, in my opinion, was a rather small plate. I ordered the brisket and sausage. Both of which were good, but definitely far from the best Ive had. For $11.22 i felt it was not worth it. The staff was very friendly at Coach's, but the food was pretty terrible. I could only eat about 1/2 of it before giving up. Their BBQ sauce didn't make things any better. We were a bit hesitant to try Coach's because the day we went, we were the only people in the whole restaurant. It was great. My husband got the frito pie that's loaded with chopped beef and sausage. He thought it was a bit spicy, but he got the barbecue sauce that's mixed with sour cream, which is sweeter and cut the heat for him. I ordered the homerun - loaded baked potato w/chopped beef & sausage. I'm a huge barbecue sauce fan so when they asked if I wanted regular butter or barbecue butter, there was no question that I wanted the bbq butter. It was amazing!!! My husband had the brisket plate, he said it was good, but a little dry. The potato salad was really good & slaw was good. I had the pulled pork sandwich on jalapeño bread & it was really good. The only suggestion would be to use vinegar slaw, but I really liked the sweet peppers & the cucumber salad. They allowed us to bring our dog onto the porch, which was very much appreciated. Worth the drive from China Spring- their smoked chicken is second to none and the brisket is slow cooked and it shows. Fried onions are a great add on to any salad and the portions are heavy so I never have room for a side. read more

Great BBQ HAD BRISKET, ribs and jalapeño & cheese sausage. Meats were fresh and delicious - sausage is very good! Ribs had good rub and good pull. Sides were all great! Stopped around 2:30. The guy at the counter was rude and complained about his shift then gave me a look when I ordered my sandwich. Didn't even put all the ingredients listed on the menu in the sandwich. He complained about the serving of Mac and cheese the kid at the register gave me. Went to sit down and sat in a soaking wet seat that you couldn't see was filled with water because the lighting was dim. The food was dry and room temperature. A couple that came in when we were leaving stood and waited for service and was never greeted. Seems like this place is on its way out. The food was not good at all, 6:30 & only 4 or 5 cars, now I know why. Got the stuffed potato which was barely hot, had a few little strips of bacon, the brisket was chopped so fine you couldn't even taste it, & the bbq sauce was so sweet yech. The mac & cheese was mush & tasted gritty, the nachos were horrible the chips were all busted up about the size of quarters & soggy, they chop the brisket so fine it mealy. Won't be back. read more
