I needed to catch a bus. For $2 can get from the east to the west or practically anywhere in Madison. There are a few Apps to download which keep the schedule updated to the minute; helpful in bad weather, and they help you plan your trip with a color coded bus number system that includes how many stops to your destination. If you ever need to get somewhere Madison Metro Bus will get you there. If you're new to the Metro system, "cityofmadison.com" will give you the "deets" on the bus. You can purchase weekly or monthly passes online or at the City Treasure on Martin Luther King Jr Blvd. or at many other retail stores like Copps Foods, Hy-Vee, or the University Bookstore just to name a few. There's even a reduced fee pass for retired persons and another for low income persons. You can see if you qualify online. The busses are mostly clean, the drivers are extremely helpful if it's your first time or you need a transfer. Lastly, In 2007 Madison bought 5 Hybrid electric busses...way to be green Madison Metro!

Pinkney, which was a 10 min walk to our hotel, not far from the State Capitol. The reason I gave 4 stars is that had our flight been delayed, we may have missed the bus (The bus was scheduled for about an hour and 10 minutes after we landed) and being that tickets are non-refundable and that the next bus wouldn't have gotten us to our destination until 10pm-ish, we would have been in a pickle. We were sweating it a bit, but grateful that everything worked out. They should be a bit more flexible knowing that flights are prone to delays and cancellations. To find the bus stop at MKE airport... Walk out of the baggage claim door #2, and turn left. You will see a crosswalk. Proceed to the next island and you'll see the Badger Bus stop. (See my photo attached). Other bus companies also pull up here. Our Badger Bus was bright red and clearly marked, but I read that they can be black unmarked buses. Our bus was running a few minutes late due to traffic, however a bus driver on a different Badger Bus who was dropping off told us it was on its way. That put us at ease. Our driver was really great. We sat up front and the bus wasn't very busy, so after we told him we were visiting from out of state, he kindly gave us a bit of a narration and offered ideas of places to visit. After picking up a few other passengers in Milwaukee, including at the train station, we were on our way to Madison. It was a smooth, comfortable, air conditioned ride. We tipped the driver for handling our luggage and for the narration. Helfpul?

Megabus does not deserve one star. This company has zero regard for timeliness or customer service…read more I have taken megabus several times due to it being the only affordable bus line out of the Madison campus and have yet to have the bus arrive sooner than 10 min late despite their adamance of having passengers arrive 10 min early. On one occasion, in the middle of the winter, I was forced to wait nearly an hour in the cold because they don't have the common decency to arrive on time. The drivers also drive absurdly slow, even for a coach bus, and I often arrive home nearly two hours later than anticipated which is aggravating both for myself and whomever is picking me up from the station. Megabus is lucky enough to be the only bus line I can afford to take out of Madison otherwise I would refuse to give them my money, however, I simply can not justify spending upwards of $50 elsewhere. If you can afford to do so, do NOT take megabus anywhere. EDIT: on my most recent trip the driver was driving in the wrong direction for THIRTY MINUTES. This company is a joke and I don't care if I have to walk home, I will not take megabus ever again.

We saw them do a rolling stop and by the time we got to the other side of this small gas station it was already leaving. We were there early and no where did it say where to stand and that they didn't stop by even fifteen seconds to make it to the doors. It's ridiculous they were so disrespectful on the call and acted like we were idiots and said the bus didn't have to stop if they didn't see anyone. If that's the policy they need to have a clearly marked spot to stand.

Don't go to where the hotel shuttles are, that's no longer a pickup/drop-off point, you have to go to where the rental cars are. To get to the rental cars you gave to take a train from the terminals. It took about 7 minutes for me. The bus ride was fine, my driver was kind, he drove safely, and we arrived on time. The only complaint I have is that my plug ports didn't work so I couldn't charge my phone.

I was in messaging contact with your dispatcher several times advising of updates to our arrival, and was assured that our ride would be available and ready.
