We arrived at Milwaukee airport and having pre-booked a Badger Bus ticket to Madison, we caught the bus outside the baggage claim area and were dropped off in Madison at East Johnson / East Gorham at N. Pinkney, which was a 10 min walk to our hotel, not far from the State Capitol. The reason I gave 4 stars is that had our flight been delayed, we may have missed the bus (The bus was scheduled for about an hour and 10 minutes after we landed) and being that tickets are non-refundable and that the next bus wouldn't have gotten us to our destination until 10pm-ish, we would have been in a pickle. We were sweating it a bit, but grateful that everything worked out. They should be a bit more flexible knowing that flights are prone to delays and cancellations. To find the bus stop at MKE airport... Walk out of the baggage claim door #2, and turn left. You will see a crosswalk. Proceed to the next island and you'll see the Badger Bus stop. (See my photo attached). Other bus companies also pull up here. Our Badger Bus was bright red and clearly marked, but I read that they can be black unmarked buses. Our bus was running a few minutes late due to traffic, however a bus driver on a different Badger Bus who was dropping off told us it was on its way. That put us at ease. Our driver was really great. We sat up front and the bus wasn't very busy, so after we told him we were visiting from out of state, he kindly gave us a bit of a narration and offered ideas of places to visit. After picking up a few other passengers in Milwaukee, including at the train station, we were on our way to Madison. It was a smooth, comfortable, air conditioned ride. The bus rides between Madison and Milwaukee are ridiculously expensive. The wifi is spotty and oftentimes the outlets don't work. I'm writing this review of my recent ride. I booked the Johnson/Washington stop for my return trip home. The clueless driver didn't even stop there even though that is where my ticket was booked to. She drove straight through from Johnson Creek to Lake St. Her incompetence cost me an hour and 25 minutes. My commute home from Johnson would have been 25 minutes, but it took me an hour and 25 minutes to get home from downtown. When I noticed the time, it was past when I should have been dropped. We were already traveling down E Wash and I was in the last seat by the bathroom, so there was nothing I could do at that point. Commuters beware if you use this stop! I sent an email to Badger Bus regarding this and how/why it happened with no response. read more

Drivers are exceptionally friendly and helpful always, buses are always clean, and the ride is always smooth and pleasant! That kind of service is a rare thing these days and I am so grateful to Badger Bus for that! read more

Bus didn't leave for 40 minutes and the bus driver was rude to passengers. Bus is overbooked so two people had to stand up. If you go to UW Madison try to find another way home because this transportion system is subpar. read more

Tickets are non refundable non transferable and they charge you extra fees if you missed the bus you indicated to ride. I planned to take it from Milwaukee airport to Madison but because flight arrivals can often be tricky, I decided to purchase the ticket whenever my flight arrives. Here comes the frustration, driver sells you the ticket for $7 extra (about 30% of the original ticket price), you have to pay the driver in cash and the EXACT change. I had to run like crazy in the airport looking for ATM machine and to get that exact change for him and unfortunately, missed the bus at the end. Please people, make it easier for your customers. Either let the driver have change, use a credit card machine or make your tickets transferable for no charge. Your competitors do that already read more

My NYC gateway staple. Seeing as I am in NY so much, I take Badger Bus from Madison's Memorial Union to Mitchell airport b/c I can usually fly from MKE to LGA for around $187... (When my schedule allows me to travel I can never seem to find a decent flight out of MSN for under $300... Ugh!) I've been taking BB for almost 15 yrs now and it's always been clean, drivers respectful and on-time even in these Wisconsin winters and summer construction. OW (one way) from Madison's Memorial Union to Mitchell airport is $22 but, if you buy it online at least 90 mins in advance the ticket's only $20.50. I like it; it's simple in a complicated world. Awful experience. Got to the bus stop at 8:10, ticket said it departed at 8:25. Bus got there at 8:15, got out of my car to get my bags and board, and the bus already started to leave. Followed and Honked at it repeatedly to stop but it left. Still have not gotten a refund or apology. Terrible service would not recommend. read more

A new, clean bus in front of Chazen museum picked me up after I booked and paid online. Staff are helpful and friendly. I felt bad for our driver today who had probably had so much of that big gulp soda that he was feeling yawny but we did make it just fine. I've taken the Badger Bus between Madison and MKE more times than I can count. Service is friendly, on time--clean buses and always a bonus when you get the double decker. The online purchasing is easy and setting up a account can save you time and money. All buses have wifi but it's pretty slow and unreliable. Definitely an affordable, relaxed way to get to Milwaukee if driving isn't an option. Tip: there are different schedules leaving from Kelley's Market and the Chazen/Union. Badger Bus is dishonest, untrustworthy and has the worst "customer service." I bought a ticket, showed up 20 minutes early and got left in the dust as my Badger Bus sped through a red light. I foolishly even stuck around for 20+ minutes hoping that it wasn't my bus that had passed me by. It was. I tried to get a refund because I wasn't able to get on the bus through no fault of my own. It's the principle of it all. But alas, Badger Bus has been giving me the run around. I've called them several times, emailed, and spoken to a live person (twice) and yet, no follow up to my request for a refund. --Dear Badger Bus, I give up. You can keep my $20. I used to use badger bus to get from school in Milwaukee to my home in Minnesota which would cost me $50 one way. This means I was spending $100 to go home and back which was pricey as a college student but at the time I found it was worth it for how convenient it was. This year they bumped their prices up to $62 one direction with no explanation! The service they provide is not worth that much by any means and now I will be finding another way home every time. read more

It must be great when you have a monopoly on a transportation bus service that people need. I mean, no need for luxurious amenities like bus stations. The seat cushions probably haven't been replaced since before Obama's first term. Cash transactions are $7 more than those made online. The bus was on time coming and going from Milwaukee and the the wifi was good enough to run youtube on my tablet. For $20 this is a good alternative to get over to Milwaukee if it is for the airport or for other purposes. I will be using this service again. read more

Left me stranded in Minneapolis because they partner with Jefferson Lines except for employees at Badger and Jefferson Lines don't know about the partnership and don't tell you about it. Use MegaBus. They have better customer service and won't leave you stranded. read more

I recommend Badger highly, as I've found their service to be great and their drivers knowledgeable and courteous. They do a good job of staying on schedule. Fares are fair, and they offer deep discounts for pre-paying for their credits online. The number of stops they make is reasonable and convenient. They have adequate space for luggage storage under the bus, and the seating is comfortable with a decent amount of leg room. Wi-fi can be restricted from certain popular sites, as some others have noticed, but I have to give them credit for at least offering some wi-fi (useful for checking email and checking for travel or weather complications). Overall, I don't see wi-fi as a core part of their service, so I don't evaluate it as such. read more

I really liked this service for a long time because it went directly from campus to campus, but now it's switching it's stop from Langdon to N Lake Street, which is not at all near the center of campus nor convenient in any way for a college student trying to visit between campuses. Took badger bus between Chazen museum and Goerke's corner almost every weekend in the past 2 years. Strongly recommended. We bought the Badger Dollars for a 33% discount, thus reduced the round trip expense to about $28. It's usually 1.5hr which is similar to driving- overall better than driving alone. It definite will take longer if you get off at MKE airports or downtown due to the several stops in between. The drivers are very nice and professional. Bus is on time (+-10 min) for all most all occasions except heavy snow. read more

I've traveled with Badger Bus several times now and each experience has been great! The service is very friendly, the buses are clean with comfortable seating, and they have been exceptionally accommodating when I have needed to make changes to my trips. Most recently, I arrived at the airport and picked up my luggage much earlier than anticipated, and even though it was too late to change my reservations online, I was still able to catch an earlier bus...and this was on one of their busiest travel days of the year. The staff was very kind about it and made the process very convenient, even though I'm sure it was an extra headache for them. Be sure to create an account when you purchase tickets - that way you can easily make changes to your trip or cancel it (and receive credit toward a different ticket) up to one hour before your departure time. read more

Stops in Goerkes's Corner, Johnson Creek Outlet Mall, Ellas Deli, and now the Dane County Regional Airport. Seats were uncomfortable. Took forever with all these stops (on a 90 mile ride). Station in Milwaukee has not been updated since the 1970s. Why don't they use the inter-modal bus train terminal instead of their own terminal on Lovett Street. read more

Terrible service. Tried for hours this change a bus ticket on their website, but it was down all day. They have a dumb policy where you can't getting your money back, yet when I try to change my departure date it won't let me do that either? A lady got back to me about an hour later and she was very nice, but comon' you're going to put people through that much stress as the click is ticking down because they can't just get through your garbage website? How about you get more than one person to work on the weekends so that this kind of thing doesn't happen. Absolute trash, never riding badger bus again. read more

I rented school buses for my September 2015 wedding from Badger bus. Donna helped me more than a year before the big day. She was so laid back even when we added a third bus at the last minute. We did have an issue with one of the buses getting lost and cutting it close to the ceremony. I was bummed that they weren't provided directions. read more

The one way they are an improvement over Megabus is that they are on time. That's about it. The wi-fi doesn't work most of the time and the filters are set to an absurdly high level. You can't connect to facebook or Amazon on their network because of the settings. It's the usual mixed bag of passengers you get. There have been several trips where one or more passengers has been extremely disruptive and the driver didn't do anything to make the trip more pleasant for the other 40 passengers. I don't think that $23 from Madison to Milwaukee is a great bargain considering all the stops that are on the route. Those stops add at least 15 minutes to the trip. If it were directly from Madison to Mitchell airport, then it would be a great deal, but not if you have to make stops in Johnson Creek and a couple other places in Milwaukee. It's the only option to get from Madison to Milwaukee if you don't want to drive, because their is no Amtrak route as an option. read more

I love Badger bus for travel between Madison and Milwaukee. Very reliable. Friendly drivers. Never had problem transferring to earlier or later bus than the one I had booked ticket on. No penalty. Did not even have to show my ticket. I have done this multiple times when traveling from Mitchell airport in Milwaukee. Free wifi is always a plus. Though sometimes does not seem to work. They even do courtesy stops on East Washington when arriving into Madison. read more

I used Badger Bus for wedding guest transportation in June of 2016. I was happy with the service on the day; however, it is now February 2017 and I just started receiving calls that they undercharged me by around $200. The woman said that she's "a bit dyslexic" and ran the wrong number. The following voicemail I received said that I needed to give them my credit card to pay the balance by February 13th or they would "send me to collections". You can't expect people to make up for your charging/accounting errors 8 months after the fact and I certainly don't appreciate being threatened with being "sent to collections" just so they could balance their books. read more

I was quite worried that I would have a difficult time getting to Madison from Milwaukee. However my host who I decided to stay with to fulfill a promise I made to him if I ever made it out to Wisconsin suggested I try Badger Bus to get to Madison (he could have told me about Badger Bus while I was still in DC, but I digress...) Anyhow, I ordered the tickets online ($40 round trip), went to Milwaukee Intermodal Station, gave the driver my name, and got on the comfortable bus! If I was going to rate, I was going to rate 4 for lack of outlets for charging. However, the very friendly bus driver announced that the outlets were on the floor near my ankles...sure enough the were. I am from "back east" where they are usually under the windows, but I was happy they had them so 5 stars! There is free WiFi as well but I have unlimited data, so I am good. I would definitely use this again and highly recommend if you a traveling to and from Milwaukee/Madison. read more

Great way to get to Milwaukee Mitchell Field. They have never been late picking up or dropping off. I like the advanced purchase option on their web site. During the holidays they have express buses to Mitchell Field that bypass all the other stops, which I really appreciate. If buying your ticket online it pays to set up an account in case you need to cancel or reschedule, that way they give you credit towards your rescheduled ticket. read more

This place is seriously a joke show. I don't even know where to begin. Just do yourself a favor and don't use them. If you decide to, be aware and don't say I didn't warn you. Had issues I wanted to address with management and they couldn't find anyone for me when I called. I've called human resources 5x with no answer each time and no call back. I am a parent of two children that ride with Badger Bus. The first thing is that the buses or vans are never clean. My daughter is a 4k rider and she is required to ride in a booster seat. The seat covers are never clean and always smell funny. The vans try and squeeze 5 booster seats in making no room for the kids to even move. The vans and special ed buses have mold growing on the top are not heated well. The yellow school bus are no better. My son says they are always dirty and you can tell they are not cleaned when you get your children on the bus in the morning. There is always trash on the bus and they look disgusting. I had him send me a picture and was just mortified. I am not showing the picture because my child still needs to ride the bus but I feel that MMSD could use a different company or at least hold Badger accountable for keeping the vehicles clean. The attendant that is on my sons bus says the bus are not cleaned because they cant keep a cleaning crew. So they just stay dirty. Just really sad. I hope they can do some cleaning read more

Traveling on interstate 24 through Tennessee on New Year's Day. There were two Badger buses traveling the same route. Both were driving well over the speed limit, and darting out in front of people. And yes, how does a large, charter bus dart. Not very well, just pushes people off the road. If it happened once you'd think it was an accident but I witnessed it several times. We were able to slow down to just get away from them. I was concerned about those traveling on the bus. read more

Not from the area, I needed to get from Madison to Milwaukee airport. I was a little confused by the bus schedule, so did an online chat with a rep in Milwaukee, who suggested the 1pm departure from the Chazen museum. I liked that I could prebook online. The bus arrived at 12:30 and the driver was very friendly, loading my luggage and answering questions. While awaiting departure, he stood outside the bus and answered many questions from boarders and passersby. He was so upbeat and patient:an excellent advertisement for the company! We departed right on schedule. The bus was clean and the ride was smooth. (The only disconcerting part being, once we left the city it seemed like we kept passing by the same patch of farmland, follewed by a patch of trees, a red barn with silo and white farmhouse: deja vu!) Every stop was right on schedule and at the airport I was assisted again with the luggage and directed how to navigate the sidewalk construction at the airport.
