He also claims I insisted that the tour guide go off with me somewhere alone when that is not even close to what happened. Just completely making things up, as if that's just a legitimate way to handle things. To clarify: we were ALL on one corner of a block and needed to go to the exact OPPOSITE corner of that block. So we could've all gone straight and taken a right as a group, or we could've taken a right and then a left, as a group. If we would've all taken a right, we could have walked right past the haunted house that I wanted to walk past. That's all I asked for, and everybody around me was totally for it and wanted to do it. And she even invited this to the group several times! That's the only reason I would've even considered it. But she absolutely refused because she's got a massive ego and seemed to be all hopped up on Adderall and caffeine. And then this clown, claiming to be the owner and to have witnessed the whole thing, says I was trying to pressure her into going off alone with me somewhere, when nothing even remotely close to that happened. This entire outfit is a joke, the tour was not at all interesting or fun, and apparently they arbitrarily lie as well. Not worth your time or money, and they are simply not nice or trustworthy people.

It was interesting to see the town and locations/establishments where filming took place. There are also plaques at the filming locations so you can read about it. If you found yourself reliving the same day over and over, what would you do differently?…read more An interesting question with answers that probably vary widely across the board, though knowing my luck I'd probably end up repeating a day where I wake up and all 3 cats have already taken turns puking outside my door so with each semi-conscious early morning step to the coffee grinder I get a gushy pile of yack between my toes... Ya know, the more I think about it, the less glamorous this do-over day seems. I mean, what if I get stuck in a day that follows a feverish binge-drinking session and I'm forced to relive that awful hangover feeling of my frontal lobe bleeding out through my corneas? Ugh. But I guess that's the point of it. It's never really as simple as just.one.day and when you're forced to think about it that way, you have to resort back to the tried and true 'live every day to it's fullest' biz-nast--or as I like to say: What Would Bill Murray Do? Which brings me to the whole point of this review: The Groundhog Day Walking Tour Where you can basically do a dry-run of one man's expertly orchestrated do-over day, in hopes of better preparing should you ever find yourself in a similar situation. For those of you not in the know, the flick 'Groundhog Day' that's set in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania was actually filmed nowhere near there. In fact, the entire film (less a few odd scenes shot in nearby Cary, Il warehouse or sound stages) was shot in the Chicago suburb of Woodstock, Illinois. It's definitely a good hour-and-a-half-plus out from Chicago, but in my expert opinion (I'm calling myself an expert now) it's one of the best places in the state to visit. A quintessential and historic downtown district rife with locally-owned businesses, world-class eats, a gorgeous town square, relatively easy Metra access and most importantly, the imprint of an icon--The man, the myth, the legend: Bill mother f*cking, Groundhog Day, Ghost-Bustin' Ass, Murray (per Wu Tang's GZA - http://www.metacafe.com/watch/5941922/gza_rza_and_bill_murray_coffee_and_cigarettes/). Should you find yourself visiting this scenic downtown district, I recommend you bookmark these listings so as not to let your life (and all these historic placards commemorating the 1993 hit film) pass you by. I've taken the liberty of making this easy for you, so you can optimize your time and make the most of your day doing the Groundhog Day walking tour (placards marked at all sites) all on your own. 1.
