I did not expect the owners to treat me and my wife like honored guests in their own home, but that's how it is. Very interesting husband and wife team who are very skilled at making a rich experience and tailoring the visit to your interests. The coolest part of the stay for me were the happy hours that Dave hosted. We had a lot of fun swapping stories with Dave and other guests who were also up for some good drinks. Breakfast was also pretty awesome. The manor is a beautiful campus that exceeds the verbal description and pictures. Lots of richness in the back story can be gleaned from conversation with Dave. To be honest, we werent looking for a bed and breakfast or a resort like retreat since we came to do some hiking, do some leaf peeping, and do some tourist stuff with a friend. By the time check out came around, we wished we budgeted more time relaxing at the manor. Definitely plan to book here again next time we do a Wisconsin vacation.

The grounds were peaceful and full of hidden surprises. The owner's Dave and Trudy were so much fun! They helped us pick and make reservations at an amazing supper club and local brewery. The breakfast was great too! Dave was always happy to take photos for us and fill our wine glasses too! Both Dave and Trudy kept us laughing all weekend long. I stayed in the Birds Nest room. It was very charming and well appointed. I loved the binoculars that were in all the rooms so you could watch the birds and other wild life on the grounds. There was also a hydro spa tube in the private bathroom which was so relaxing. Overall a fabulous place for a getaway! This was an amazing girls weekend! We are planning on returning next year!

I was looking for the perfect getaway for my boyfriends birthday when I stumbled upon this place. Lake Kegonsa was never a lake I had heard of until now and boy let me tell you I'm glad I did. This lake is stunning and the views you get of it from these cabins are unreal. It's breath taking to watch the sun rise over the lake in the early morning. Cabin number 2 was our choice for the weekend. The prices were very responsible especially for all the cabin had to offer. It was fully stocked with anything and everything you may need. Don't let the pictures on the website fool you, these cabins are completely updated. New appliances, new TV's and very comfy beds. Lastly, Frank the owner of the property, was very kind and inviting. When we first arrived there he greeted us with open arms at 6pm. Which was very nice because many places offices close at 5pm and he was there all ready for us at 6. He keeps the properties very tidy and presentable. Don't sleep on this place, it's not one that should be missed!!

If you don't have the time to drive all the way to the Northwoods, you can still have a fantastic view of a beautiful lake, paddle around in a kayak or rent a pontoon, cook out, throw a frisbee, or borrow bicycles and ride into Stoughton (Norwegian bakery!). You can eat at Halverson's, a short walk down the road, and drink too many Old Fashions and walk back to the resort. Their food is great in the old Wisconsin way. You can come by boat or bicycle with a little planning and make a mini-adventure out of it. There are three tiny but efficient cottages and a small, medium, and large guest house. We got Cottage #1 (the one in the photo up on the hill). The cottage has a tiny but full bath and a bedroom. Naturally, you'll spend most of your time on that patio with the awesome view of Lake Kegonsa. The manager Frank is an outstanding fellow who keeps everything immaculate. He also rehabbed all these units so he must be quite a craftsman as well. He went the extra mile for us on a couple of accounts. So 5 stars for accommodations, 5 stars for service, and 5 stars for value.

Outdoor kids' pool with two slides that could use a softer landing area. There's a pool to accommodate all ages as well. Fire pits are available for bonfires and S'mores, kits available in the gift shop. Family suitable movies in hotel lobby at 7PM. Volleyball net, walking trails, and a sad outdoor ping pong table are available, too. No daily maid service. A hot tub would be a very nice addition!

I called them and they told me that I had it enter the property Another way 5 miles out of my way . When I came down that road it was under construction piles of cement, bobcats, loose sand, and gravel rocks . I called the hotel so unprofessional the woman ,Tammy told me sorry no refunds. I said G I got it really nice car in this road , is not suitable for Travel. said well you stayed here the other day you knew we were under construction. I told her I said it wasn't like this. You could've warned me. She was so rude. She said well. I've already processed your credit card payment so I'll just cancel the room and she hung up the phone on me So I decided to go I drove 15 miles an hour top speed. It took us forever to get there. The place reeked of marijuana. There was garbage in the garbage can in our room. It's like it was never cleaned. These people are very rude. I am a local and I know the owner. His name is Scott when I called and I said can I please speak to Scott I was told he's busy and he's going to tell you the same thing that I'm going to tell you so you can just go through me. It's like Nazi Germany at this place stay away from these people go to Birchcliff. It's so much nicer and it's just right down the road if you really wanna go out of town go to Angel HideaAway . Lotta garbage at this place and drugs.
