Rented a "luxury" 14 person pontoon in July 2024, and it was junk…read more Please see the pictures: the boat was literally held together with packing tape in places, including the canopy which was flapping in the wind after we opened it. Additionally, the reverse gear did not work...the employee told us before departure that the reverse was " a little tricky, it doesn't always take." The reality was that the boat did not operate in reverse and we had to use manpower to avoid running into other boats when we attempted to dock/anchor. This was the most disturbing aspect of the rental because it was a safety risk, never mind the damaged and taped sections. We tried to discuss with Madison Jet Ski, but good luck reaching someone. There is no one to call, and slow or non-responsive to email. As a last resort, we attempted to find resolution with our credit card company, but were presented with legalese that we signed away any recourse in event of a complaint. Buyer beware, you have to sign off on everything BEFORE you take the boat out. Once you get on the water and discover any issues, you're stuck. My attempts at recourse began in July, and it is now mid-October. I will not waste any more of my valuable time dealing with this company, but it is my hope that sharing my experience will help others avoid the same fate. You can do better than Madison Jet Ski and your ~$700 with other firms on Lake Mendota or Monona.

The setting is beautiful and there is a farmers market, live music and tap house right there that you can enjoy. It's very popular and there were lines to get in. It was also very dog friendly. Overall a great experience, we are glad we did it and the kids had fun too!

Unbelievable experience all around…read more The owner/operator is an incredibly nice and accommodating guy. We had a group of 10, I accidentally booked 5 kayaks instead of canoes. Day of, the owner doesn't flinch at my mistake. He quickly corrected where I dropped the ball and it didn't seem to interrupt his operation. The Sugar river is a blast. Smaller and more technical than the nearby Wisconsin River. PLUS! There's some killer breweries, tacos, cocktail bars, & a live music venue to welcome you back once you're off the river. 100% would recommend and will most certainly use Sugar River Outfitters again.

This is a great little park with a sandy beach in the heart of Monona right on the shores of Lake…read moreMonona. There is a small playground, bathrooms, a pier, picnic tables, and a gazebo. A recent addition is the B-bike electric bike rentals. I also have seen guys fishing along the small canal. Across the street is the bait and ice cream shop which is handy in many regards. They serve the typical hot dogs, burgers and Babcock ice cream. Once a month in summer they hold beer garden events with bands. Another plus. A nice community asset.

As I drove through the campground there were a lot of travel trailers with structures built around them. It looked like horrible. During my stay the same poop marks remained on the toilets the entire 3 days I was here. The final weekend I was awoke at dawn to a barrage of shotgun fire. Duck season opened and since the entire shoreline is weeds and rush its prime duck habitat. All morning shotguns were going off like a small war. My dog was flipping out. So they don't clean the showers or toilets. The place looks like a ghetto, and there's gunfire to rival any war zone. Oh yes, let's stay here!!!

We had to cancel reservation due to health issues…read morenot being medically able to hand the air quality due to the fires in Canada we could not keep our reservation. Not only would they not work with us, but they also laughed at us for even asking. Extremely rude host. I didn't expect a refund but was hoping to at least be able to reschedule for another time down the road without losing all of our payment. I wouldn't recommend this campground to anyone.

It is a fun and safe experience if you do it right with the right people. You get all your gear provided 100% and they really care about your safety and success. From the beginning, we really liked the vibe that they gave off, and they have treated us like family ever since. The staff are very positive and patient with divers, and they put a lot into seeing their students succeed. They are also very responsive to calls and messages, and have always been willing to work with their schedule to make classes fit with ours. We've now done 9 dive trips with them and they have all been awesome. They do such a great job putting together trips and taking care of the hassles of travel (finding reputable dive operators, planning out the logistics, making sure you have everything you need to know about travelling to your destination in advance of the trip, laying out any taxes and fees you will be charged by foreign governments and dive operators, etc). I can't recommend Breezeway Bubbles enough whether you are interested in getting certified, continuing your education, buying diving (or snorkeling) gear, or going on a trip.

This is a great little walk by Lake Mendota on university property. Take a little dirt road to the…read moreparking lot. The dirt parking lot can hold maybe 8 cars. There are stairs down to the waters edge. A few intrepid swimmers met here for an early morning dip. The trail to the left starts from the bottom of the stairs and goes roughly a quarter mile until it hits private property. The trail to the right goes from the parking lot. It's mostly through the woods but there are a few secret spots to view the lake, including a newly installed bench.

Definitely a hidden gem near campus. So many trails following the water, some with entrances down…read moreto the lake. I hiked a good two miles and barely touched the many places to go over here. It's beautiful and quiet even though the city is bustling just beyond the tree line. I'd recommend this place to hike if you're a beginner, don't want to drive super far, want to take in the outdoors, and spot some fun birds.

Located on Monroe Street, Wingra Park is a small, but mighty local park that offers open fields for…read moreplay or lounging, benches, small docks for fishing and even offers a boat livery where you can rent kayaks and more. There are walking paths that take you alongside the water front and back around to the condos and up to Monroe, but it is not for much beyond a short leisurely stroll. j The grounds were well kept and clean, as were the docks, pathways and other areas. There is dedicated parking at the entrance, but also plenty of nearby street parking. While Wingra Park is not the largest or best equipped park in Madison, the lake provides a cute backdrop and the field provides the perfect place to relax and hang out. We made two passes around before heading back to Monroe and popping into the local tavern that is essentially connected to the park. Overall, Wingra Park is a quaint spot in Madison and I can dig it!

They are…read moreworking on a master plan for this beautiful property on Lake Monona so for now it is a great place to sit by the lake and enjoy the views especially at sunset. There are a few picnic tables and some comfy Adirondack chairs.
