Do not rent from this company. Rented a "luxury" 14 person pontoon in July 2024, and it was junk. Please see the pictures: the boat was literally held together with packing tape in places, including the canopy which was flapping in the wind after we opened it. Additionally, the reverse gear did not work...the employee told us before departure that the reverse was " a little tricky, it doesn't always take." The reality was that the boat did not operate in reverse and we had to use manpower to avoid running into other boats when we attempted to dock/anchor. This was the most disturbing aspect of the rental because it was a safety risk, never mind the damaged and taped sections. We tried to discuss with Madison Jet Ski, but good luck reaching someone. There is no one to call, and slow or non-responsive to email. As a last resort, we attempted to find resolution with our credit card company, but were presented with legalese that we signed away any recourse in event of a complaint. Buyer beware, you have to sign off on everything BEFORE you take the boat out. Once you get on the water and discover any issues, you're stuck. My attempts at recourse began in July, and it is now mid-October. I will not waste any more of my valuable time dealing with this company, but it is my hope that sharing my experience will help others avoid the same fate. You can do better than Madison Jet Ski and your ~$700 with other firms on Lake Mendota or Monona. read more

I will not be using Jet Ski Madison again. My nephew and family booked two jet skis using my email (and his credit card), and I booked a luxury pontoon for after. My nephew, wife, child, and a friend were denied jet skis because I was not in attendance. Instead of asking me to come down (or for me to email for clarification, which Larry later told me could have been done), the workers drove away with the jet skis. We did have a nice time later on the boat, but the entire day was tainted by the jet ski experience. I contacted Larry the owner and explained that my family felt racially profiled (the jet ski riders were Black and Indian) and that I was disappointed in the service. To preface, I don't leave reviews (check my profile), but this was egregious. Don't just take my review into consideration, also scroll through just the last two months and look at the number of one star reviews mentioning other examples of being mislead. Rented a pontoon. The employee was late to our reservation so we lost 15 minutes of lake time. Because he was late, he rushed us through paperwork and just tried to get us out of the marina. After our booking I saw a gas charge on my receipt which was sent after they already had charged for the reservation! On the website, they say gas is free for jetskis, and nowhere on the site does it say that gas is not included for pontoons. So this is incredibly deceptive. Moreover, I called and asked for a refund, and was told that the gas charge was checked in a box on the paperwork, which we were rushed through because the employee was late. I spoke with the general manager who was incredibly dismissive and only wanted to get me off the phone. I politiely asked for a refund and was refused. One might assume gas would be included on a 600 dollar boat rental. So in summary, if you don't want to have lake time lost due to employees showing up late, and you don't want to get hit with hidden fees that aren't mentioned anywhere except paper work that you are rushed through, rent from somewhere else. Jet Ski Madison is a wonderful company and I highly recommend using them for pontoon and jet ski rentals. They have great customer service and will go above and beyond to be sure they do the right thing by their clients. We rented a pontoon for a full day, had some technical issues, and they upgraded us to their awesome luxury pontoon. If you can get this boat, do it, it's awesome! Their dock location is also great so much easier to get in and out from the Warner Park dock than their competition down the lake. I'll be renting jet skis from them later this week and am looking forward to another experience with them. read more

Booking was a simple click the button on line process. I had a question and called, and I talked to somebody after a few rings. Had a great time with the jet skis and was a positive experience overall. We got started a little late, but when you're dealing with a ton of boat traffic at the landing, it's nobody's fault. The process was quite disorganized - we arrived 20 min early (as instructed) to the lot and didn't see anyone or anything from Jet Ski Madison so we were worried we may have gone to the wrong location. We tried calling the phone number on the website, which went straight to voicemail every time. It wasn't until our booked time that employees arrived with the jet skis. Upon their arrival there was a lot of back and forth between employees about which one we should be on, which resulted in us not heading out until 20 minutes after our reserved time. Had a great time on Lake Mendota with a pontoon rental from Jetski last weekend. Kaia called us the morning of the rental, and was waiting for us when we arrived at the boat launch. We were on the water boating within a few minutes. Kaia did a great job showing us around the features of the boat, got us hooked up to,the Bluetooth stereo so we could stream our music, and made sure we knew the safety features. The boat worked great for us with no hitches. Kaia was waiting for us when we finished and we were on our way within minutes. Will be using Jetski again. read more

This was a great experience overall. The owner is just an overall nice and funny guy. We did find it a little difficult to steer the jet ski, as it seemed it pulled more to the right when going straight, but we are also beginners and by the time an hour passed, had adapted pretty well and were able to go faster without feeling like we were going to tip over. The owner did mention that he was upgrading the brands of his jet skis to Yamaha's and that he was retiring the sea doo. The prices cannot be best either, for a 2 hour ride, which is more than enough time to explore and just increase in your skill level. We plan to buy our on jet ski soon, but until then, will look forward to our next time our here. So pissed off. Their website and phone recording said they were open till the end of September and today until 7pm. We drove all the way from Chicago to find that no one was there and neither did they answer their phone. This is so unprofessional and ridiculous. We rented a pontoon boat. The boat was damaged from use in high winds the day prior. Some of the trim was partially torn off (sharp metal edges). The awning was also damaged so we had no shade for the duration of our four hour rental. One of the seats was ripped and duct taped over. The captain's chair adjustment was broken and the seat couldn't be adjusted up or down so it was hard to sit high enough when driving the boat and to see over the top of the already long boat and passengers. The worst part was we received the boat with a quarter tank of gas. We had to locate a lakeside fuel station to add gas. The owner/operator was a real nice guy hence an extra star for friendliness. read more

The quality of the jet skis were fine but I reserved for two of the premium jet skis and only had gotten one of them that way. Also when we parked we parked in the lot where other cars were and I asked the employee if I could park there. Was surprised with a ticket when we got back to our vehicle even though they had told me my car was fine there. If I could give fewer than 1 star I would. I don't think I've ever had a more frustrating experience with a business. I called them up about a month ago to rent a couple of jet skis for me and my wife for our anniversary. When I finally got them on the phone (they kept not answering, and not returning the messages that I left) they told me to go online to make the reservation because they don't do it over the phone. That's fine. I go online, and it keeps trying to double charge me for the rental. At this point I figure I'll just give them a call again and explain what's wrong with the website and request that they help me over the phone even though it's not what they normally do. They absolutely refused me, and they told me to write them an email with my credit card information, phone number, and reservation details. Excuse me? What? That's not only sketchy, it's actually very dangerous to send credit card information via un-secure email (they were just using a gmail account). Needless to say, I refused to do that, and I told them that that was dangerous and awful for a business to do. They tried to get out of it by telling me that they never requested I send my credit card information in an email, despite the fact that they requested that I do that IN AN EMAIL so I had the conversation history proving they were lying about that. Whatever. At this point I'm irritated and sort of concerned about their business practices, but we got the whole thing scheduled over the phone (Which was what I wanted to do from the beginning, and I'm still not sure why they wouldn't just do it that way to start). So I'm thinking that it's over, I'll be able to go jet skiing with my wife and it's all behind me. Cut to the day of our reservation. I get a phone call about an hour before our reservation is suppose to kick off, and I guess three of their jet skis had gone out of commission that weekend, so they'd have to reschedule. This was honestly fine. Stuff happens, and I figured the guy on the phone was probably stressed about it, so we just rescheduled to the following weekend and it wasn't a huge deal. We just got back from driving out to the dock where they work out of, and the guy I talked to on the phone the previous weekend never actually changed our reservation, so they didn't have anything for us. We just didn't get to jet ski. We came home and will NEVER be going back to this business again. I urge you to avoid these people! Please do not give them your money! read more

We reserved a Premium Jet Ski 4 days in advance. We received a text/ email the morning of our rental and two hours before reminding us of our jet ski times (that was good). An hour before the rental time (15 minutes before we were going to leave) we received a TEXT saying they were over booked on jet skis and we would have to reschedule. We are from out of town and would be leaving the next day. After calling and requesting a refund and reimbursement for the boating license they suddenly came across another jet ski. After all that, the employees were great and the skis were top notch. If that exchange would not have happened I would be writing a very different 5 star review. read more

We found out about this on Groupon and purchased an hour jet ski rental. Overall we had a great experience. Our rental had to be cancelled a couple times due to weather, but Larry was very quick to communicate this and every time I agreed that it made sense to cancel. The actual rental was very smooth. Larry was there waiting for us and spent a couple minutes going over how to use the jet ski and the safety features. He left time to answer all of our questions and then we were off! We are so happy we found Extreme Motorsports Rentals. There were several high-quality jet skis that were comfortable, beautiful and in great condition. All the jet skis were unique in their own ways. Some were fast and smooth, and some were very bouncy and fun. The owner (Larry) was so kind to give us a short tutorial on how to ride a jet ski and how to get the most out of our experience. We told him what kind of experience we wanted when riding on the lake, and he helped us choose the right jet ski. My 13 year old and I had a blast riding around Lake Monona at speeds up to 65mph! We highly recommend taking a spin on these jet skis! We are definitely riding again at Extreme Motorsports Rentals. read more
