Madison Scuba taught my two daughters to dive (PADI Junior Open Water Certification) and I can't say enough good things about these guys. My youngest was only 10 and pretty nervous and everyone from divemasters through instructors went way, way above and beyond to build her skills and confidence so that she was happy and safe in the water. I was a professional dive instructor myself before I had my girls and have seen enough sloppy dive shops with substandard equipment and instructors who were just phoning it in to be able to say that Madison Scuba is the absolute antithesis of those sorry operations. I found the instructors to be professional and dedicated to sharing their love of diving. Their shop/rental equipment is new, good quality and well-maintained. All my personal dive equipment was purchased from them and I found them helpful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly. It was the one of the high points of this mother's life to see my girls become happy, safe divers, see their big underwater grins and share their joy at their new discoveries and Madison Scuba was a huge part of making that happen. I had an awesome experience getting my open water certification with Madison Scuba. It was something I really wanted to do, but at the same time I was super nervous about it. It ended up being a breeze though because the staff was extremely accommodating, encouraging, and helpful. They made me feel safe and I had a lot of fun. After getting certified and deciding to pursue my new-found hobby further I looked to the Madison Scuba staff to help me select the right gear and equipment for my needs. They were very knowledgeable (not at all pushy) and patient with all my questions. I was worried about how much the stuff I wanted was going to cost but I discovered that not only was the gear at Madison Scuba topnotch, it was reasonably/competitively priced. I would highly recommend Madison Scuba to anyone interested in learning to scuba dive, or continuing to improve their skills. A friend of mine and I had though about learning to scuba dive for years, but never gave it a try. More or less on a whim I looked around for places to get certified and decided to go with Madison Scuba. The Open Water certification class was a great experience. The instructors where knowledgeable, respectful, and fun to be around. The class schedule was flexible, and they where always willing to help me with questions or concerns. Since then I have completed the Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver classes, and am working on my Dive Master certification through Madison Scuba. Madison Scuba is great placeto learn how to scuba, continue learning through various specialty courses or just have fun diving. The knowledgable staff is always friendly and helpful when I need to pick out new gear or need my current gear looked at. My experience with getting certified as an Open Water Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver were enjoyable. When you get done with a course, you know you have the knowledge and skills needed for that certification. My family off 5 took our PADI Open Water certification through Madison Scuba and we were very happy with the experiance. The staff was wonderful and knowledgable and they also made it fun. We also have rented equiptment from there for dives in Wisconsin and were very happy with the quality of the equiptment as well as the reasonable cost. The new location suits us much better as we are an east side family and going to their last location for rentals was quite a hike. Im thrilled to have them so close. read more

I have taken PADI Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster certification courses through Madison Scuba, as well as a number of useful specialty courses I have purchased a great deal of scuba gear through Madison Scuba. I have always found the staff to be helpful, knowledgeable and friendly there. I wouldn't think of going anywhere else in the Madison area for training or equipment. read more
