Hours (in case you didn't know what you advertise)

0 stars- FOUR times I have been in the store more than 40 minutes before close and the teenagers behind the desk tell me they're closed. ( one of the times was an hour AFTER open and they told me they were "working on machines and couldn't serve me" ) If you need to change your hours, please say it on the front chalkboards.

We all know grocery shopping on an empty stomach is dangerous and I had to run to the Publix next door so I decided to stop for lunch first. It's a small place with a simple menu making it a perfect lunch stop. You'll find burgers, dogs, and other sandwiches on the menu. I had the smashburger with fries and some mozzarella sticks... comfort food at its finest. My friend had a Philly cheesesteak and a caesar salad. I think the guy was confused on the salad because he asked what dressing she wanted and said he didn't have caesar. Then she ended up with a house salad at the table. Not a big deal, but salads may not be there strong suit. Some kids came in for soft serve and I was jealous, but I over ordered for lunch so no dessert for me. I didn't realize they do breakfast too so I'll have to come check that out next.

    BLT

Dropped in for a BLT with onion rings to go. The BLT was the bomb! Texas toast style bread, lots of bacon and plenty of L and T. The onion rings were perfect, hot, and freshly cut.

    Seafood Platter Special

Great little spot. Came for a burger but decided on the Seafood Platter Special. Great portions. Very tasty.

Cookies and cream cheese wonderful goodness!

Coach and his wife are running this spot. Old fashion burger joint with shakes, fries, hotdogs, burgers and more. They even have breakfast: a cozy spots for good eats! Philly steak sandwich amazing! Coaches burger what?! So good. Stop by this place and enjoy a bit of nostalgia!

The attached is a picture that I took before I started eating. The white lettuce, the few strands of onion, and a pale tomato. I also had one piece of bacon, which appears to have been cooked a while back. Not crispy at all either. $4.50 for a small container of french fries... Those, however, were good and hot. I also noticed my feet stuck to the floor when I walked in. today I gave it it's second chance.

Grand Slam egg sandwich on perfect roll w 2 fried eggs, hash browns, bacon, cheese, and aioli.

Last night marks the 5th time in recent months that friends and I have gathered here. We like it…read morebecause it's tucked away and sits directly on the river with fantastic water views in every direction. Whether they are trying to or not, they seem to be attracting mostly adults over families with kids. I did not start out liking it for this reason, but I admit it's now among the chief reasons my girlfriends and I enjoy going there. Last night, we were seated outside because they were packed inside, with no tables available and no seats at the bar. This was a first, and I was happy to see them filled. I feel like whoever is managing has the right idea, but even more so, the right staff currently in place to pull off bigger things. I say this because this place has the immediate potential to do an AMAZING OUTDOOR HAPPY HOUR service and make a killing. They already have a huge outside area which also happens to be partially covered, and already manage to get in a largely adult crowd both by car AND boat. The potential reminds me of what Waters Edge at Shem Creek was and how great they were before the new ownership/management takeover. The potential is absolutely here at WRG even if the happy hours only lasted for a couple of hours. Turning to food, I follow this venue on social media. I see the bar food pics and specials and they look epic. I was super excited to finally be able to do a few plate grabs and try stuff out. Given we were seated outdoors, I asked about their website's advertised bar food menu. When we asked, we were told that the bar menu was only available at the indoor bar despite the website saying otherwise. We also looked around for an outside bar but did not see one, so that is why we assumed "outside bar" meant all of the outside. We remained seated outside and ended up ordering from their main dinner menu. We enjoyed the Fried Green Tomato Caprese appetizer ($14), an order of (unadvertised) garlic bread ;-), Flounder Bites ($16), and a special Chocolate Cinnamon Bread Pudding. Everything was good. I won't hype it because it was not great, just good. The Caprese was the only confusing dish, as it served as something more closely resembling (and tasting like) a bruschetta, but you do receive a large portion. The wines were half decent pours at $8 a glass for their house Pinot Grigio. One friend ordered a liquor drink, which she said was tasty; however, it was not what she ordered. We think she was misdelivered the wrong drink altogether. With a few tweaks and menu changes, the addition of that 'ghost bar' to the outside patio, and hiring additional staff, there are big things ahead for this place in the not-too-distant future. I hope I can come back by summer and give them more love and more stars.

A third update, giving them some love. I had a burger, and my husband had fried fish - we shared…read morethe HUGE salad and his fries. We both had a cocktail. It was good food and a beautiful day. I also, mid-order, wanted to change my seat for a better view, and the waitress was nothing but kind about this. We live out in Ravenel now, and don't always get over here, but we've been there 3 times now and it has always been a fun experience.

The staff was friendly and attentive, and everything came out hot and fresh, except the fries they were lukewarm at best - tasty but would have given a 5 star if hot! But the stand out was the large beer cheese pretzel! We got three ya'll because they are soft and chewy yummy decadence!! The cheese is fabulous! $10 for one is a bit steep and I think $7 or $8 would be a nice way to bless the customer! And you absolutely can't beat their half-price burger Wednesdays--such an awesome deal for seriously delicious burgers. Now keep in mind they are made smaller including the bun but delicious and filling. With the pretzels added in the smaller burgers were plenty! We got the donut-hole ice cream dessert which was tasty and the grand kiddos enjoyed! Definitely a spot we'll keep coming back to on Wednesday's for sure! Outdoor dining welcomed dogs as I could hear one barking. Love that this is such "a thing" in the Charleston region!

We sat at the bar and ordered our beverages. The man bartendering could not answer a single question regarding the food menu. It was as if he walked in off of the street and just started bartending. He was friendly, but has zero hospitality skills. Why would someone invest in a restaurant, and then hire just anyone to represent the business??? Also, while asking questions regarding the menu items, he kept referring to "The Chef." This place sells hamburgers and French fries; what Chef???
