We saw two customers together and one separate walk in 5 minutes before we left and they ordered and got their appetizer five minutes later. We asked why they got their food before us and they claimed it was their appetizer- mind you we also ordered an appetizer and that shit sure as hell did not come out five minutes after we sat down, actually it came out never! also those 3 customers actually had to move the plates/food/dirty napkins/and cups off another table to another because there was still nowhere to sit for new customers. also they claimed they were so behind on orders when we watched everyone finish and leave 15 minutes in and then there was only me and my boyfriend and then 10 minutes later was the 3 other customers. genuinely can not say anything about the food's flavor but if you're waiting that long and sitting in a nasty ass environment it better be the best fucking wings i could ever taste

The chopped beef sandwich was sensational with underlying seasoning that gave it more depth of flavor than most barbecue I've had. I look for Jetfire food truck everywhere I go where there are food trucks!

It was late in the afternoon so I wasn't sure if there would be any food trucks we liked next to…read morethe Clovis library, but I was certain that neither Lee nor I felt like cooking this evening. There were only three: one with Asian food with all its fresh bean sprouts and green onions and crispy fried rice, one with super crispy fried chicken, and the barbecue truck, Jetfire. The owner (I guessed) was out front, talking to another guy. I asked if they were open and if they had anything that a couple of old folks who couldn't chew "too good" could eat, maybe some brisket so fatty it would melt in your mouth. He kind of shook his head and then said, "I could chop some brisket up nice and soft and put it on a plate with two sides or a sandwich or just some meat by the pound?" Long story slightly shorter, he disappeared into the Jetfire truck and emerged a few minutes later with 2 chopped beef sandwiches, 2 sides of beans, 1 side of mac-n-cheese and a side of potato salad. We took it home and began eating some of the finest barbecue I've tasted in a very long time -- maybe sometime in the 30 years or so I lived in Austin, TX, and it wasn't just the chopped brisket -- each dish was a treat unto itself! The beef had bits of charred fat concentrated with the smoke and maybe worcestershire and horseradish? I don't know, but it was delectable! The bun was perfectly toasted on the grill in butter or maybe beef fat. The potato salad was the perfect combination, IMO, of vinegary, mustardy and mayonnaisey and the mac-n-cheese was the perfect texture of soft but not soggy with a lighter, a little sweeter sauce and chunks of Velveeta in it to give you an occasional burst of cheesy flavor. I think the folks running this truck have a secret ingredient that gives everything a depth and complexity you don't find just anywhere. This has become my go-to barbecue in the area and I recommend it to any BBQ lover. Plus the gentleman who rustled up this food for us was a damn nice guy! The plates were 10 bucks a piece-- well, worth the price, but one plate with one extra side would have been more than enough for the two of us who have fairly light appetites. (We will enjoy leftovers tomorrow!) Thank you, Jetfire!

"Yeah, Mom." So I took to the DoorDash app for takeout. When we arrived, right away I noticed how small the front parking lot was. There are a few more spaces on the back side. Also, I drove by this place three times earlier in the day and I didn't realize this was a gem of a restaurant. The dine-in area was minimally decorated. It also was on the small side, but right away I was warmly greeted by a smiling older gentleman who clarified that I was welcome to sit down while I waited just a couple more minutes. The food was all so delicious. I did not order enough steamed dumplings ($6.50 for 6 pieces). Quickly I was reprimanded by both of my girls for this. But then I was quickly redeemed for sharing a few bites of my medium-spiced beef bulgogi ($17.99). The girls thought it was a bit on the spicy side, but we all agreed the flavor was absolutely amazing. Comforting. Both girls enjoyed a Korean ramen entree. The youngest said the spicy pork ($10.99) was really good. The oldest opted for mild spice with beef ($10.99) - and while she ate most of it, it took her a while because she doesn't tolerate spicy foods well. Recommended - but like many restaurants in Clovis, this place stay open only until about 8:30 PM and I believe they are closed Sunday & Monday.

The brisket was incredible and had the best bark! We went on George Strait Saturday at lunchtime…read more The manager said she had been there 13 years along with another staffer, and neither had seen a line like we experienced on Saturday. The wait was a little crazy and the staff was clearly out of their element with the booming crowd, but at the end of the day, the food spoke for itself! I'm a 9th gen Texan and love my BBQ. This was the sh*t! It was some of the best brisket I've ever had, seriously. Now people will say, "what place has the best BBQ?" My immediate thought is "clearly they've never had BBQ! As there's literally no place on earth with the best BBQ." If you've eaten your fair share then you know that's a trick question. The better question is, "who has the best brisket, or ribs, or nanner puddin, or whatever." Some places are great and others suck, but no one is the best at all of it. They may be above average or even exceptional, but they will still be better at one meat than another. We had brisket, turkey, beef rib, pulled pork, mild sausage and jalepeno, along with some brisket deviled eggs. Dude! If it were Cajun food, you'd have to slap yo mama. Fortunately it's BBQ so we loosen our belt strap and when we can't eat another bite, we grab the biggest spoon we can find and eat some nanner puddin. It was solid. For sides we had potato salad, cole slaw, mac n cheese and collard greens. Personally, my favorite was the mac n cheese as it was creamy and tasted great, but my friends from Oregon were in TX for the first time and while she had never had collard greens, she couldn't get enough of them and literally went back for thirds. As mentioned, our friends were in from Oregon and had never been to TX not ever had TX BBQ. Shack you did us proud!

Found the cafe part of the place stood and pondered the menu (pretty much same menu as posted in the pics) and decided what meats we each wanted on our 2 meat plate + 2 sides. Spicy sausage link with cheese, brisket, slaw and potato salad for him; ham and turkey meat for me with the beans (warned that they'd be talking later) and slaw. Each had a big slice of bread + butter and a sugar cookie. Drinks of lemonade and unsweetened tea were all you could drink and came as part of the meal. There are canned sodas and bottled Coca Cola for an extra price. I saw there was fresh coffee in the pot. All food was very delicious, fresh made, and served generous sized portions. We had so much leftovers we have a good start on tonight's dinner/supper. On the television was the Western/INSP channel with High Chaparral playing. Blast from the past. Great Wall art all over the place, and even outside on the "patio" area where there's cooking going on (spare ribs were smoking for tomorrow's customers). This looks to be a family run business with a friendly attitude. As the husband went to pay the owner-ess started to type in the credit card machine. My husband asked "Do you take cash" to which she replied "yes, we just do see it much." There ain't many a truer statement, everywhere we go it's typically the card. Husband tried to leave a tip and she wouldn't accept it. Just come on back again. I highly recommend this place as a stop over for a leisurely, friendly meal. As we left, the husband said "Nice ole folks ... Usually we have to pay for the cookie (home baked sugar cookie) and they gave it to us free as part of the meal."

What goes on in Olton, Texas? A simple drive through tells you not much. However, this small town…read moreboasts a Texas Monthly Top 50 barbecue spot, so if you are like me and trying to get stamps on the passport, you inevitably have to make the drive. Funnily enough, it is both the northernmost and westernmost spot on the list, so everywhere after this is quite literally downhill from here. We drove in on a Friday and arrived just before 1:30 pm, which is a sin at most barbecue joints. Rejino, however, only had a small line and still a full menu while being pretty busy. They were excited to add a stamp to my book and even gave me a free Rejino sticker to take with me. I love places that go the extra step. One thing I want to note right away is how affordable their barbecue is compared to most places. The Texas Trinity fed both my girlfriend and me and came in around forty dollars, with half pounds of ribs and brisket, a sausage link, and a side. My girlfriend and I ordered their Texas Trinity, two sides, and a dessert. I will share my thoughts on everything below. Brisket: It was well done. There was good flavor throughout and the slices were nicely cut. The balance between the lean and fatty parts was exactly what you would expect and on par with others on the list. Pork Ribs: My girlfriend loves a pork rib and she really enjoyed these. In terms of tenderness and candying, they landed right in the middle. The meat did not fall off the bone, but it was still excellent. The bark was well seasoned. Jalapeño Cheese Sausage: Compared to most joints, their sausages were shorter but thicker. The jalapeños actually had a crunch, which was surprising. I really enjoyed this sausage. Baked Potato Casserole: I thought this was a great side and a solid portion for five dollars. Bacon White Cheddar Mac and Cheese: My girlfriend said this was her favorite style of mac and cheese, extremely creamy. I thought it was good, but I let her eat most of it since she liked it so much. Broccoli Cheddar Cornbread: Unlike most barbecue joints, the cornbread here was free. I really liked the hints of cheese and the broccoli pieces mixed throughout. M&Ms Brownie: I sometimes get dessert at a barbecue joint. When I am with my girlfriend, that percentage jumps to always. Here we ordered a massive M&Ms fudge brownie. The M&Ms were intentionally stale, so instead of being crunchy they were chewy on top of the brownie. It reminded me of a Cosmic Brownie. In Texas, there are smoke cathedrals everywhere for those willing to look, and places like Rejino make stops in small towns completely worth it. RIYL: top notch barbecue that also happens to be pretty affordable
