I shipped two pairs of my old boat shoes to Fred's in IL and they were mailed back to me in VA about four weeks later looking brand new. The Sperry Resole Package was $90, and the cost of a new pair of the Gold Cup model on the Sperry website, as of August 2026, is close to $200, so I think $90 per pair is a really good value. I highly recommend Fred's for your shoe repair needs.

Got my Iron Rangers resoled at Fred's. Stitching is crooked on the right boot. Response from Fred's…read morewas the stitching will be strong and not impact durability. OK, but not thrilled since it looks bad. I do't wear these boots too often since I have several pairs. i just noticed they also scraped the leather with the stitcher on the same boot. The leather is actually a little thinner now in this spot. The scrape runs parallel to the welt in an area where normal wear would not cause the scrape. In addition, the scrape shows up in a picture I took immediately after the resole. It appears they covered up the scrape with brown polish or another shoe product. They did not mention any of the issues when the boots were picked up by a family member that lives near Peoria. Do not recommend, and I will not use them again.
