I really appreciate the direct accountability and quick resolution. I'm leaving my original review below for transparency, but their prompt response today restored my confidence in their management. I originally had a positive experience with California Solar Electric during my 10.12 kW solar and Powerwall 3 installation last year. Unfortunately, their post-install customer support and business ethics are nonexistent. I referred a friend who completed their installation months ago. I was explicitly promised a $500 referral bonus for this. After months of waiting, I tried following up multiple times privately to give them a chance to make it right, but I am now being completely ignored. It's a shame because I have several neighbors here in Fountain Valley who are currently shopping around for solar and battery storage. I was planning to refer them here, but I cannot recommend a company that fails to honor its own written agreements and ducks communication. Buyer beware: the installation team does good work, but do not trust a word management says about referral incentives or post-sale promises. Still waiting for my $500.

Carlos came out did some rewiring told us to have a CAT 5 cable ran to have a direct connect for our app and then he would come back to ensure everything was working properly. Before the CAT 5 was installed the inverter stopped working again. I called Carlos, he said to give him a call the following week because he had a big job out of town. No problem. I totally understand. I tried to reconnect with him several times. Sometimes he picks up sometimes he doesn't. Last time we spoke we picked a tentative appointment date for him to come out. When I called him to confirm he wouldn't return my call. This has gone on for over a month and a half. Disappointed and a waste of time to say the least especially because he had other great reviews. It turned out he showed me a much better way to upgrade our system and get a better value. I was able to pre-purchase the components from my prior solar company at great savings. Carlos' company provided the panels. Btw, Anca Solar's pricing was very reasonable and within my budget. I scheduled the service and the guys were great, even arriving early. Altadena Solar installed a 6.6 kW system for us in October of 2019 (delayed review). Overall at the…read moretime I thought it was ok, but was disappointed by a few details. Mostly, some of the solar panels on the flag roof were visible from the ground. I asked them about dropping the angle of the panels, to make them not visible, and they said they would look into it after we passed inspection. But then when I asked again after inspection, they said the angle could not be changed. I was disappointed that they were not able to fix this issue. Also, some of the equipment was located close to one of the windows, instead of being located more centrally on a wall between the windows, so it was visible when looking out the window at an angle. As I noted, small details. If I would have written this review 3 years ago, I probably would have given them 5 stars. However, I recently had solar installed on my house by another contractor (got a quote from Altadena, but they were about 10% more expensive, and I decided to go with a contractor who was local to where I live). While the contractor did a good job on the install, there were some of the technical details that fell short, included them selecting a panel upgrade that can not accommodate a CT (which measures power consumed). But this experience made me realize that Altadena Solar actually is pretty good. My one recommendation is if you have specific aesthetic preferences, be sure to be there during the operations.

What took me away and gravitated towards GIM, was the brutal honesty and no sales pressure. Other companies were clearly out for the sale and quick sign of a contract. But GIM never had an issue answering questions and took the time to ensure I fully understood what was going to happen and they executed. They are truly professional and take pride with their work. Panels, conduit and all looks amazing and was exactly what I ordered. If you have competing bids, show them to GIM and they will explain the differences and show you the tactics the 'others' may be using. I would recommend 100%.

Our inspection/permit were completed in just a couple of days after our final panel work was done. It's easier to reach Nick by cell than by email, but when I reached out via text or call he always knew what was going on with the project and was able to give us prompt answers to any questions. Chase installed our electric panel (and probably the panels too but I can't remember that far back!) He walked us through the whole system and left the area clean after completion. I like that we can monitor our panels in realtime and we have a great warranty on our panels. I'd recommend their services!
