On 6/6 we were driving back to the Seattle area from Birch Bay and my van started to make a noise and so at the next off-ramp I took it and the van died right at the bottom of the ramp. An SP came within minutes and then the WDOT response vehicle showed up. He pulled to a safe parking lot a few feet away.
Then a stranger was standing there asking what was wrong with the van, he gave a few suggestions and said to call Carl at CMG Automotive. He said if he doesn't call you back text him. Well within a few minutes Carl texted saying they were closed Sun/Mon. Even though he was closed he kept texting and said if you can get it to my shop I'll look at it. Our insurance roadside service was a few hours wait. So Carl ended up coming to pick us up and take us to a motel next to his shop, then he went back to tow the van to his shop and proceeded to figure out what the problem was. By 9:30 pm that night he finally had the answer. a small plug for the radiator was in at a slant and leaked the water out of the radiator. He was out test driving it at about 10 pm or later. He kept the van in his yard gates for the evening and we got it the next morning. Carl went above and beyond what anyone would do. Our other shop said they couldn't even look at it for 2 days. So Carl has been a mechanic for 20 years. Has a good soul and was our angel on that day. Thank you, Carl. read more
