For a company that has such high reviews, I had a very disappointing experience. First, as others have mentioned recently, the call center scheduling was a poor experience. Scheduling the service was simple and quick, and I was told it would be $69 to perform the services I had asked them to check out - fine. However, the problem with the call center comes after the tech arrives and he informs me that what I wanted is $220 and that the $69 is a fee just for him to show-up. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because their office manager (Susan) is a true angel. She explained that they had recent hires at the organization and apologized for the issues and was very considerate. However, the next problem came when one of the issues I had them come to check was not even listed on the quote. I specifically asked about the item in our discussion/inspection as the tech seemed to leave it off during our final chat. The prices seem fair, but I cannot give my business to an organization that was 0/2 on fulfilling their duties on the easier side of the work they would be doing. Again, I followed-up with Susan after the second hiccup and she was a true angel and super helpful. I imagine that the other 770 reviews can't all be fake, so some people are obviously having great experiences. Just be very mindful when you contact them about these issues and maybe you can prevent yourself some frustration. read more

CMC "installed" a generator for us. Unfortunately, it remains inoperative. Their work failed the city's inspection. We are still waiting for them to remedy the situation. read more

I can't say enough about this company from the girls who answer the phone to the technicians that they send out to do the repairs... My house was struck by lightning during the storm last Friday which caused havoc with the electrical components to my garage door openers and to my well... These two young men spent hours trying to locate the break in my electrical line... And to come up with an economical and aesthetic solution... They're truly the best these young men are a wonderful representation of this company I will highly recommend them and will call on them again and again... They still have a lot to work to finish but I am here to say I am so pleased with their work with their professionalism but most of all it is so hard to find excellent customer service these days that they are stellar in my book !!! read more

My landscaper cut the electric line for my outside lights. I called CMC electric, which is my go to company and they came the same day. Josh came, he has been here before for other services, and as usual was very understanding. He found the problem and fixed it immediately at a very reasonable price. Josh is a wonderful person and he is a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend CMC electric for any of your electrical needs. Receptionists are nice, electricians are nice, electricians are talented. But receptionists and electricians do not communicate well about parts needed for a job or send the electricians photos that were sent to the receptionists. CMC is so easy to work with, and so professional, I couldn't help but post a review. Every single time I've called for a quote, they have scheduled it swiftly. The work that has been performed has been superior. Their technician has always been courteous, efficient, and made sure we were 100% happy prior to leaving. I can't say enough about their service. I have recommended them to others, who I hope will give them a call. When I contact them, I know the price will be fair and the work outstanding. I wish every contractor was like that! read more

I had called for service due to lights and outlets in two bedrooms not working. I told Mike G when he arrived that I thought it was a breaker problem because breaker kept tripping. He identified one light switch that was tripping the breaker and capped it off so it would no longer be useable. He then offered a "free" safety inspection. I should have known that nothing in life is "free." Whatever he did messed up all GFI outlets in 3 bathrooms. I did not discover problem until after he left. I tried resetting GFI outlets and breaker, neither of which had tripped. That is the extent of what I feel comfortable fixing by myself. When I called office, I was told I would be charged again for someone to come out and fix what he had messed up. At least $69 for road trip. First trip was $169 (including road trip fee) for 5 minutes removing light switch cover and placing 3 wire nuts. If 3 wire nuts cost $100, I hate to guess how much another service call would cost. I will NOT use CMC Electric again. So much for warranty of their work!! Update: I just had Jackson Superior Electric come out to fix the problem CMC left. Not only did they replace the switch Mike G had capped off, they also found loose wires in receptacle near the light switch that also tripped the breaker-so CMC capping the switch was not the correct solution. They also fixed the outlet problem and did additional work-removed a ceiling fan and replaced two wired smoke detectors-for just a little more that the first CMC visit that capped off a light switch and tripped GFI and left it tripped. By the way, the "free" safety inspection CMC did said to replace batteries in two smoke detectors, but when I bought batteries and went up to change them I discovered both were wired smoke detectors and the entire units needed to be replaced. Jackson Superior Electric traced the line and discovered a GFI outlet behind a shelf in garage that CMC had tripped and did not reset. I did not know that GFI outlet was there, but Jackson Superior Electric did not give up until they found and fixed the problem by simply resetting the outlet. All of my future electrical work will be done by Jackson Superior Electric. Top quality work at a very reasonable price. read more

My appointment was for 10-12. When no one had arrived by 12, I called the office. No one answered nor returned my call. Wesley arrived about 12:30 and said that he had another appointment scheduled for 1. I had purchased a Goupon voucher which covered the service call and $100 in electrical services which I thought would cover most of the cost of three simple straight forward tasks. 1. My strip lighting did not work. I told Wes that I thought that it was because I had used a CFL bulb which was incompatible with the dimmer switch and asked him to replace the dimmer switch with an on/off switch. He removed the dimmer switch, tested for power, replaced the switch and charged me a $99 "diagnostic fee". 2.Wes quoted me $225 for replacing a 24 inch strip light which I provided. He later lowered the price to $85. 3.Wes quoted me a price of $49 for replacing each of two additional dimmer switches with on/off switches and for replacing each of several light bulbs. I declined. He then gave me a bill for $268 for the less than 30 minutes of actual work. The bill did not reflect the Groupon deal. After arguing with me about the bill total, he called the office and then adjusted the bill. In my opinion the costs to do relatively minor repairs are outrageous. My experience with CMC was very unpleasant and costly for what was accomplished. read more
