Absolutely the best company!! I called after hours on a Tuesday, the owner called me back within a few minutes with suggestions to my question. When I knew that nothing was going to help, I messaged him the next morning and he was out that afternoon. The unit is from about 1985, my mother in law rarely used it, but he never tries to sell us a new unit. The price of the repair was about what we expected! Do not use this company. If you have an American Home Warranty and they try to put you with this company request another company. I made a claim on a rental property. They scheduled an appointment 3 days after the claim. It's been nearly 100 every day and my tenants are without AC. The guy finally makes it over to the property looks at the unit and says it needs apart that he doesn't have and needs to order one. Ok how long will that take. The part will be ordered tomorrow and will take 5-7 business days to arrive and once it does they will schedule the service back to the house in 3 -5 days. Ok folks do the math.3 days to look at it ,7 days to get the part and then 3-5 days to fix the problem.....15 days in August with no A/C what a joke. I called Daffen here in Granbury they will replace the motor in the morning. read more

Completely non-responsive! Voicemail is typically full. If by chance it isn't, you'll never get a call back. I've left 5 messages over a week begging for a call back or response via email and NOTHING. Don't waste your time with this company. If American Home Shield assigns this company to you, call them immediately to request a vendor change. I should've done this after they took 36 hours to schedule (as opposed to the promised 24 hrs) and then didn't even ask me if the day/time would work. They just texted me a day with a TWELVE hour time frame. After I begged for it to be reduced to 6 hours or less, they called the night before at 7pm indicating a smaller time frame, but by that time I had already pulled out all the stops to have 3 different friends/family at my house during the 12 hour window, 9 of which, I had to be at work. read more

I've been using CMB for years. They are a small, family owned company that provides personalized service. They have never failed to deliver. Yes, occasionally there are schedule issues, but I can tell you if they are running late it's because they are spending the time necessary at someone else's house, just as they will for you. Working with them feels like you're dealing with a close friend who happens to be an HVAC expert. I won't call anybody else. read more

I've used CMB several times over the last few years. To my knowledge they're a small family run company that never takes a day off. I've had my AC go out twice they repaired it quickly with an accurate and precise diagnosis. Many of the new homes have brand name outdoor condensers with generic attic units making it difficult to find parts. CMB was able to locate a part and installed in a timely manner. read more

I do not recommend this company at all. They were called out because they have a contract with my insurance. Our A/C was draining to the outside of our house, so the pipe was clogged. Brady came out three times to fix the problem. Each time he said it was fixed, and each time we still had a leak. The third time he was scheduled to come out, he arrived at 5:30pm (when they close), just came to say he wants to replace the pipe along the entire attic, and then he left. Really? That was worth my waiting at home for? He said he would call my insurance to get approval. I didn't want him coming back over because he couldn't fix my problem the first two times. There was no way I was going to trust him to rip out and install a new pipe. So I called my insurance. They said the company had marked the issue as closed after one visit, and they didn't have any request of a new pipe (several days later) or any record of additional visits. Hmmm... So I insisted that they send a different company out. Jason from Patriot Heat and Air came out, and he fixed the problem in one visit. He spent about an hour thoroughly cleaning the pipe. He did say that he could see that Brady had cleaned out some of it, but that it just needed to be more thoroughly cleaned. Jason was calm and thorough, and he got the job done. We'll definitely use them again next time. read more

I wish I had a choice about my AC provider. I was told by my home warranty company that I had to use them. My AC was out for 4 days before they could finally come out. I was given a 4 hour window of 3:00-7:00. The technician came at 7:15 P.M. My son was there, but I was not, so I asked the tech to call and he never did. When I tried to call him, his voicemail was full. I have tried calling CMB and their voicemail is also full. I only know I have a compressor that is out, but no other info was given. I have no idea how long before I hear from them. MEANWHILE, we are dying of heat stroke in our house. Having to sleep with doors open means mosquitoes, critters and serial killers have FULL access to my family. This is not only unacceptable, but just downright wrong on every level. After almost 2 weeks, I still have no AC! read more

We used this company through American home shield. I have now canceled my policy with them as i don't have the time or money to deal with another company that AHS uses. They came out once to figure out what was wrong, the next time the truck was broken down (which I was understanding of) so rescheduled, then the third time they came out they didn't have the parts to fix it so instead loaded us with freon (we were without AC for 8 days at this point) and said call us if this doesn't work. We knew freon was temporary but decided to let it go and use a company we liked and trusted to fix our unit. Then I asked for an invoice...that was over a month ago. Multiple calls emails and conversations and I still don't have one. read more

They told us they couldn't fix our a/c when they arrived because it was running too hot (it had been turned off for days, and it was 88 degrees in the house, with kids), and then called our home warranty company the same day and told them they had fixed it! They told me I had a leak. Charged me over $850.00 to add freon. It all leaked out the next day. Said they told me they couldn't tell me if the leak was big or not and I agreed to adding the freon. Which I did. But I couldn't afford the only two other options at $3,500.00 and $6,500.00. Had another contractor come out who said the hole was very large and they should have known it would leak out immediately and not added the freon. They didn't do anything illegal just really bad customer service. read more

Absolutely terrible service. First of all, they never make it to an appointment on time. Second of all, they seem to have no idea what they are talking about. On Wednesday, July 1st, our AC stopped working. Our landlord called the Home Owner Warranty Company (they are who the warranty on the unit is under) and they sent CMB out on Friday, July 3rd, to look at the unit. After their inspection of the unit, they told us that there was absolutely nothing wrong with the AC unit. They turned on the unit and left. A weekend goes by and the AC stopped working AGAIN on Monday, July 6th. We crawled up into the attic to see that the unit had frozen up. CMB was called again to come look at the unit. On Tuesday, July 7th, because temperatures were reaching 90° in the house and they hadn't showed up by 5p.m., we turned on the AC for a couple of hours. They show up at 7p.m. on Tuesday, completely unannounced (no phone call to let us know they that were coming), to look at the AC unit. They went to look at the unit and it was "completely frozen solid" after the AC had only been running for 2 hours, so they couldn't work on it. He turned off the AC and made an appointment for Thursday, July 9th, to once again, see what was wrong with the unit. The guy shows up 3 hours later than the time he was supposed to be here on Thursday. He went to look at the AC unit and to our surprise, it was frozen up again! We had not touched or even thought about touching the thermostat. The AC unit had not been on since Tuesday and it was still "completely frozen solid." He even looked at the thermostat and it was off. He then told us that the AC unit can not freeze if it has not been on, basically calling us liars. The AC unit has been off since Tuesday. There is no possible was that it can be frozen unless there is something wrong with the thermostat. So here we are, still sitting in an unconditioned house, with temperatures expected to be in the 100's next week. I would not recommend their service to anyone. read more

I could not agree more with the previous reviewer. How CMB Mechanical stays in business is beyond me. 1.5 weeks to get someone to show up at my property to get the AC looked out. After various fictitious excuses from CMB on why they had not been able to get to the property in all that time, I ran out of patience and requested my Home Warranty company send another AC company. The new AC company was contacted in the late afternoon, and by the very next morning that new company was at the house, and had repaired the unit. read more

UPDATE...... They gave me a diagnosis on my AC unit that rodents had chewed the wires causing it to short. And the pictures he claims are bite marks cannot be determined they were from an animal! He said that has nothing to do with the problem! There is no remnants of rodents nor have I seen a rodent in years due to a cat and a dog in the backyard. This caused my home warranty claim to be denied! My electrician told me he didn't see any signs of rodents causing an issue to the unit. Well fast forward to this evening.... I had another company come out to diagnose the problem. THE CONDENSER GROUNDED OUT. The wires he stated that the previous vendor deemed chewed threw, were not chewed and were not even touching! So if a rodent did chew through it but didn't electrocute it, the wires would have had something to establish a connection and short out. I even called them and told them that there's no evidence suggesting it was rodents and he told me he could not lie on an invoice. I DIDNT ASK HIM TO LIE, I asked him to remove the rodent claim as there was no proof of such! I have since contacted my attorney as he has advised me to record all conversations at this point as we may have a legal matter on our hands. Fidelity is in the process of reviewing the new vendors invoice to overturn my claim. DONT USE THIS COMPANY. read more

I would not recommend this company, They did not properly diagnose the problem with my AC, They charged me $350.00 to "clean my evaporator coils" and failed to clean the drain after they were done. The unit continued to freeze and thaw causing the pan to overflowed collapsing part of my ceiling under the Air Handler unit costing me another $350.00 to have a drywall specialist fix the damage. The company then denied they were responsible and refused to accept responsibility for their actions. I had to have another AC company replace the unit. read more

DON'T DO IT! Nobody answers the phone, your call will be forwarded to a voice mail box that is full, and doesn't arrive when scheduled. Opened ticket with American Home Shield on Sunday, 5/26, 11:30 AM, for AC not working. AHS request said CMB Mechanical would respond within 24 hours. Monday, 5/27, no calls from CMB. Holiday, so understandable. Tuesday, 5/28, I called CMB first thing in the AM: nobody answers phone, call forwarded to voice mail box which is full. Repeated throughout day. I then called AHS to voice my unhappiness with CMB. AHS contacted CMB and told me CMB would be calling me to setup an appointment. 4:00 PM, I received call from CMB and representative told me technician would come out on Wedn, 5/29, between 5:00 pm and 10:00. She said they were behind from the holiday and they were working late to get caught up. 5/29 was may daughters birthday dinner, but we were desperate for AC, so we postponed the dinner and accepted the late appointment. Wedn, 5/29, 10:30 pm, no CMB and no phone calls. Postponed birthday dinner for nothing and have upset kid! Thursday, 5/30 AM, AHS service request status still shows CMB arriving on Wedn, 5/29, between 5 pm and 10 pm. Thursday, 5/30, contacted AHS and had new AC vendor assigned. If you want an AC contractor who doesn't communicate, doesn't answer the phone, has your phone calls forwarded to a full voice mailbox, and doesn't arrive when scheduled, then CMB is great. Scam artists. Charged me $350 to dispose of an old compressor and refused to do job until it was paid. Called another (licensed) AC company and they would dispose of it for $50. These guys ran my credit card, then wrote it on the invoice for some reason. Two weeks later, they charged me $532 extra!!! They would not return my calls. When I finally did speak to someone, Melissa, she told me that I needed to submit my evidence that they charged me, even though she said she could see it right there at her office!! TERRIBLE SERVICE. Our home warranty company contacted them on Monday 5/4 first thing in the am; they set up to come out Wed 5/6 between 3-8pm with a 45 min call ahead. At 8 pm we still hadn't heard anything from them, tried to contact the office and they closed at 4pm. The tech called shortly after 9pm saying he was running behind and was an hour away. He showed up around 10:15pm using his cell phone as a flashlight to tell us the AC was low on Freon. That's great but why is it low is it cause it is leaking? Oh wait you cant tell because it is pitch black and your cell phone light is not bright enough to see anything. I left a message on the company machine at 8pm telling them to call me and here it is 9:30 the next day with no call no nothing. This is a TERRIBLE company who will be blasted all over social media for the lack of customer service and professionalism. read more

I am giving them the star rating based upon honesty of work. Below are the facts and then my conclusion based on a second opinion I went ahead and had done on the work they did. -- I was buying a house for my mom. Had an inspection done on 4/18/16 that indicated the A/C was at normal working condition but maybe need some Freon since it was at the lower limit of 15 degree difference between intake and output. -- Closed on the house on 4/27/16 and took over the keys. Went in and turned A/C on to cool house for start of remodeling. -- Started fixing up the house on 4/48/16 and the A/C was cooling within acceptable limits. No warm air was coming out. Was remodeling house and was cool enough with A/C that there were no complaints. --Painters were painting 5/5/16 and mentioned that the A/C was working but the unit was running most of the day. Said we may need a little Freon to be added. (of note, they did have door open most of the day) However, thought we would use the Home Shield Warranty and have the Air conditioner guy come out and look it. I understood the $75 charge for the visit and that extra charge for the Freon used thinking that it may just need a little top off. -- CMB Mechanical was suppose to show up between 12-3 however called at 9am and said they were on their way. I could not get away from work so I called the painters and asked if they could let him in to do his work. I was not there to see the A/c guy. -- The technician called and I explained to him that it was not cooling as well as it should. After evaluating, He called and said that it was low on Freon. I asked him how much does he think it will take to fill it up. He replied "I don't know until I hook it up." I asked him " How much does the unit hold?" He replied "I don't know" So I went ahead and told him to top it off and please check if there is anything else that needs to be done. He called back and said it was down 10lbs of Freon and that it was $55/ pound and that I owed $550 for the Freon. I was shocked to say the least. I questioned him again," if it is down 10lbs then how much does it hold?" He now replied " It holds 12 pounds." He said everything else was normal. I went ahead and paid it with my credit card over the phone since at work. I did call him back a couple of times that day for clarification of how it could have been down so low and still been blowing out cold air. He had no response or explanation. He just said that is what his instrument had registered. -- I tried to resolve this with his office but it did not go anywhere so I called my credit card company to reverse some of the charges. They told me to get a second opinion. So I called Comfort Experts A/C to come out and look at the unit. -- 5/26/16 I second opinion with Comfort Experts Air Conditioning. The guy came out and looked at unit first. Said everything was fine. I told him the details of why for the second opinion and his response to me was "we see this all the time." Then he said "Your unit only holds 9.4 pounds of Freon total so how is he saying you were down 10 pounds? It has it on the label right on the outside unit." He looked at me and pretty much confirmed what I had thought all along. Conclusion: They charged me 10lbs of Freon when my A/C only holds 9.4 pounds. The guy told me my unit holds 12 pounds on the phone when it only holds 9.4 pounds. So either the guy did not know or lied to me in order to charge me for all that freon. (The technician ended up being the owner of the place so he should have some basic experience so I do not think it was just an error.) The air conditioner unit was working within normal limits on inspection report 2 wks earlier and when the remodeling was occurring just 1 day prior so there is no way in my opinion or in the opinion of the second A/C technician that came out, the unit was that severely low on Freon. I feel that I was lied to and over charged for Freon that was never put in the unit. I will be resolving this with my credit card company or if not there will betaking them to court. People tell me to let it go, I make enough money to take the hit. I do not think it is right and will be going as far as giving it to my lawyer to pursue. I hope no one else gets ripped off by them. read more

CMB was scheduled by my Home Warranty company on April 27th and have sent the same technician out 6 times between then until August 16th, never fixing the problem, put freon in 3 times, a sealer in once, and a new compressor in once. Never correctly diagnosed the cause of leak which was in air handler....in fact their Technician never even opened the air handler. Each return appointment would take 1 to 3 weeks to schedule, meaning for this 4 month period most of the time we did not have functioning AC for that portion of the house, and when the technician did show up, he was always late. Finally, AHS scheduled "Just Chilling" to come out. They arrived the 17th, same day as contacted. Diagnosed the issue (a large hole in the air handler coils) in 10 minutes and had fixed within 2 hours. Just Chilling highly recommended. Professional, timely, and proficient at problem resolution! Would run not walk away from CMB Mechanical, and definitely refuse them if scheduled by your home warranty service. read more

Extremely bad service!!! My AC condition did not work and the home warranty company sent the work order to this CMB mechanical Heat and air condition, due to the busy season, the company sent one technician 3 days later, spent few minutes and told us they fixed it. After running the AC for 6h, it was still 88 degrees in the house, we called the company again, they told us to wait for another 3 days. When we wait for that day, the company called us again and said that they cannot send a technician out because of short of hand and we have to wait. read more

This company was dispatched by American Home Shield (AHS) to work on my heat pump due to no emergency heat coming on. The technician came out and reported "Same problem as last year - the wires to the emergency heat strips are cut". My tenant told them that "No, last year you stated that the wires were missing and my landlord had them replaced by another company". However, he did take pity on my tenant with a new-born infant and splice the wires. About two weeks later it had warmed up and tenant turned on A/C which blew out hot air. She waited till the Monday to call AHS for a recall visit, said it wasn't an emergency as it had now turned cold again. She received no follow up visit. On 12/31/13 all heat quit so tenant called AHS and stated that she'd never had a follow up on A/C not working, but now no heat and it was an emergency as she had infant, an elderly and four other children. Brady, the owner, of CMB came out on 1/2/14 and he checks out the unit and states that the fan capacitor is missing and that the wires to the blower motor were disconnected!! Duh, does he think we're stupid? No part of the unit could have functioned with those parts missing and blower disconnected! He called in his ficticious report to AHS and now they are disallowing the claim. I had a second company (not AHS approved) come in and they checked out the motor and said that it showed to have a short in the windings and even if they hooked it up it would not work. This company, Patriot Air of Burleson, is an honest and trustworthy company. He wrote a report to AHS stating that the evaporator coil was leaking, the drip pan was rusted, blower motor showed to have a short and the whole unit needed replacing. However, despite this AHS still refuse to service my unit due to the false report by CMB. To date I have filed a complaint with the BBB, ConsumerAffairs.com, and a formal complaint with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, and am posting it here so that folks locally can avoid using them!! When I asked Patriot why does he think that CMB vandalized my unit and then implied to AHS that I'd had someone else work on it before they saw it on 1/2/14, he explained that if an AHS contractor recommends replacement of the unit or recommends parts in excess of $200 per call, then they get dropped to the bottom of the list and don't get any more calls for a while. Patriot no longer is a contractor for AHS because he believes in treating folks fairly and repairing or replacing their system as necessary, and won't conform to their policy of keeping the bill under $200. I guess this company doesn't have a good client base outside of Home Warranty companies, due to their shoddy service, so they try to keep on the top of AHS's list by not properly repairing or recommending replacement of the unit, going to such lengths as vandalizing my unit and then lying about it. read more

Terrible!Terrible!Terrible Service. It has been 6 weeks since they first came out and have been back 3 more times. They do not show up on time. Do not fix anything. They dumped freon in the unit and left. The 4 or 5 times they have been by for the same problem all told they have been here a total of maybe 12 minutes. Came out because it needed refrigerant. Charged me for 10 gallons of refrigerant. I went out to look at the A/C unit to see how much it held. Someone had scratched off that information on this A/C unit. I have the exact same unit on the other side of my house. It was in perfect shape and said the factory charged was 7.73lbs. I called the owner and asked about this and his exact words were that my serviceman would never do such a thing. Just seems rather funny that it looked like it was recently scratched off and the other unit looked perfect on the other side of the house which CMB did not work on. He also said that you have to include refrigerant for the tubing also. He said they weight the bottles after filling the unit. I wish I was there to watch them weight the bottle before and after considering the cost of the refrigerant. Smart person would never use them considering the reviews on this account are so negative. read more
