Highly recommend staying away. Isn`t like nothing like it use to be people needed. Might be dependable when it counts, end of the day your not the priority. Pay extra and get service, with a warranty quality product and people that answr the phone that have somewhat of an idea.

I contacted Decatur Heat and Air due to water leaking from my ceiling, coming from a hole in the…read moreside of my plenum bag, which was not located over the emergency drip pan and a giant hole on the bottom of my plenum insulated bag that's clearly falling. The technician who initially came out misdiagnosed the issue, stating that the problem was a clogged drain line causing the emergency pan to overflow and the hole was not the issue. I agreed to their suggested service and paid $250 to have the lines cleaned. The very next morning, I discovered water once again leaking from my ceiling into the living room above all my electronics which could have also resulted in a fire. Upon inspecting the attic, I found the drain pan completely full and overflowing. I called the company back, and a different technician came out. He confirmed that the actual problem was the hole we originally reported, and the previous technician had left off a necessary plug, which caused the system to malfunction and overflow due to not being able to properly drain resulting in even more damage to my home. After repeated attempts to get a response, I finally received a call back and was told they would offer a discount and send 2-3 men, including the owner, to complete the plenum replacement and level my unit. I agreed and materials were ordered. However, when it came time to schedule the work, I was informed--via text--that the same technician who caused the original damage and misdiagnose would be returning to do the work. When I called to ask about the owner being present as previously discussed, I was told he would not be coming because that was never talked about and that the technician was "more than capable." This directly contradicted the earlier agreement, so I canceled the service. Even if I was mistaken on the owner coming it's extremely disrespectful to willingly send a technician out who caused issues to begin with. I'm sure he is capable but out of respect for me and your company do the right thing. Overall my main frustration is the manager, I've never felt more disrespected and belittled by a manager. I really hope Shaun will evaluate her role and consider new management. Throughout this entire process, the office staff was dismissive and extremely rude, and communication was poor. I am extremely dissatisfied with how this situation was handled and cannot recommend Decatur Heat and Air.

We are a general construction company and have hired Emerson for multiple jobs in the past. In…read moreprevious projects, he did deliver work; however, we recently encountered significant issues on a project at a church in Trophy Club. Emerson charged us a substantial amount to replace existing lights with solar lights. Per his contract, he provided a three-year labor warranty and a five-year manufacturer warranty. Shortly after the initial installation, five of the solar lights showed defects and were replaced under warranty. We are now experiencing the same issue again, as the replacement lights are once more defective. We requested that these be covered under warranty in accordance with the contract. We had a clear agreement on a specific date and time for Emerson to provide the replacement lights. Based on that agreement, the boom lift was scheduled and all arrangements were put in place at our expense. When the agreed-upon date and time arrived, Emerson never showed up. Since then, he has completely stopped communicating with us and has provided no updates or solutions. Based on the lack of communication and failure to honor the warranty, our next steps are to pursue legal action and file an insurance claim, as we have documentation of the warranty provided. While Emerson has completed work for us in the past, we have consistently noticed that whenever issues arose on his projects, he would deflect responsibility, blame other contractors, and attempt to charge service fees rather than stand behind his warranty. If warranty support is important to you, we recommend proceeding with caution, as our experience has been that he avoids responsibility once issues arise.

He helped us install a transfer switch and exterior inlet plug for our generator so we can safely power our home during outages, and also rewired several breakers to create a dedicated group of emergency-use circuits that the generator would run. The level of knowledge and care he brought to this project was exceptional. Justin was very generous with his vast knowledge in the area. He took the time to thoroughly explain not just what he was installing, but why, and went above and beyond by educating us on generator best practices, including important dos and don'ts for safe operation. I definitely felt much more confident in my ability to keep our house running for my family than I did prior. He was also extremely friendly, kind, and easy to work with from start to finish. Scheduling was simple, he was very accommodating to our availability, and his work was fast yet meticulous. He ran multiple dry runs with our generator to ensure every targeted breaker was functioning properly, and even took the panel back off to include an additional circuit I initially didn't think would be necessary, but ultimately agreed was important for emergency situations. That extra level of diligence and care is rare. Justin is a one-man operation, but you'd never know it based on the quality of his work and professionalism. He is everything you could hope for in an electrician and more. He will absolutely be our go-to electrician moving forward. Pricing was fair as well.
