I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company and would not recommend them…read more I purchased a yearly maintenance membership for over $200 (paid up front) because I wanted my AC system tuned up. When I texted to schedule my maintenance, I also mentioned one room that seemed warmer than the rest and asked if they could take a look at it while they were already there. Instead of scheduling the maintenance I had already paid for, they set up an entirely different service appointment without making that clear to me. When the technician arrived, he told me he couldn't do the maintenance that day and that I would have to schedule another appointment. Then he looked at the warmer room and assured me the repair "wouldn't be that much." Later, I find out that he was supposed to have shown me an estimate BEFORE he did any work. That obviously did not happen because I would have said absolutely not. He spent very little time in the attic, claimed he "unblocked" one vent and adjusted dampers, then handed me a bill for $199. Even with a veteran's discount, I still paid $174 that I was never expecting to spend. I had literally just paid over $200 for a maintenance membership, and instead of receiving the service I paid for, I left with another unexpected bill. To make matters worse, the technician appeared unprofessional. He was coughing constantly and seemed to have difficulty breathing from the moment he arrived until he left. His clothes were dirty, and his zipper was halfway down the entire visit. It did not inspire confidence in the quality of the work being performed. After everything was over, I honestly cried because I felt completely taken advantage of. The technician knew I hadn't intended to schedule that service, yet he reassured me it wouldn't cost much before presenting me with a $199 charge. I contacted the company afterward. They refunded my membership fee, but they have refused to provide a detailed invoice explaining exactly what I was charged for. The technician simply entered a dollar amount with no itemized breakdown. As a customer, I deserve to know what I paid for. The worst part? The room is still warmer than the rest of the house. I don't even know if anything was actually fixed, and after this experience, I don't trust the claims that the vent was "unblocked" or that the dampers were adjusted. This entire experience felt misleading, unprofessional, and unfair. I will be taking my business elsewhere.

They left me without gas or hot water for 4 days! Thomas couldn't figure out what the problem was even though Atmos labeled all the leaks. He cut a hole in my wall and left! I called another company who said that a permit was never pulled for my house and it has to be done when Atmos cuts you off, new company came out had me fixed within a hour because I didn't need "parts",the city inspector came out the same day too. After my repairs were completed by another company I got a quote from Hawkeye for 3 times the amount it actually cost to get fix! Be aware and stay away from this place. Our neighborhood plumber was booked a week out, and so were the two others he recommended, so it was off to Yelp to look for one... found a five star plumber, asked Yelp, Yelp offered to send info to multiple plumbers, and Ray was one of the ones that responded. I was a little nervous about hiring a guy with only one review on Yelp, but he had good reviews on Google, Angie's List and other places so I decided to give him a shot... being available to come out the next day was definitely a big plus. I was a little nervous when he came out in an SUV with a magnet on the side instead of a fancy painted truck but he definitely knew what he was doing. Unfortunately we had to replace an entire shower valve ($$$) instead of just a cartridge ($), but he did a great job and put an access panel in the wall instead of just leaving a giant hole in the sheet rock like I was expecting, so that was a nice plus. Other pluses: entirely paperless, Ray showed me a complete estimate before he got started (which ended up being the final bill), and was willing to explain things. His pricing for the shower valve replacement I thought was pretty reasonable. Minuses: when diagnosing the leak he noticed one of the toilets was leaking (into the bowl) so I asked him to fix that... the charge for that was I though was pretty high since he was here for something else as well, I've replaced toilet innards and it's pretty simple with cheap parts. But he did have the price on the estimate so I can't really complain. Overall, I definitely would recommend him and will call him again for other issues... hopefully not any time soon though :)
