The Nations

I bought my prom dress from Glitz back in 2009 when it was at the old location, and I have always…read moreknown that I would come back for my bridal gown. I am so happy to see that Ann is still the owner. We made an appointment online, and on the day of our appointment Carol took care of us. I was able to bring 3 of my closest friends with me to my appointment, and there was seating provided for them while they waited to see the gowns. We were directed where to look for gowns my size, and were given so many wonderful options. Overall I tried on 6-7 dresses, and never felt rushed or pressured to make a purchase. The appointment lasts for 90 minutes total. Carol took care of us by listening to comments and observations, and then made suggestions and recommendations to try. I put my full trust in Carol, because thanks to her recommendations I found a dress that made me FEEL like a bride! I was there to try on different silhouettes, and while I did not say yes to the dress (yet), I believe they serve champagne once you purchase a gown. Their prices are very reasonable, and they will ask you for your budget so that they can direct you where to look on the racks and make realistic recommendations. If your budget is $5,000 or less, then this shop has the selection for you! I cannot wait to come back to check out their other options (mother-of-the bride gowns, especially), and take another look through their gorgeous gowns.

I rarely leave reviews like this, but I feel other customers should be aware of my experience…read more I purchased a dress from Glitz Nashville after being directed to the "new" rack and told by stylist that the dress I was trying on was new, while discounted items were kept separately. Based on those representations, I reasonably expected the gown to be free of DAMAGE. During the fitting, I was specifically told not to handle the zipper due to store policy, so I relied on the staff assisting me and did not inspect that area myself. After leaving the store, I discovered a ripped seam near the zipper that was clearly present at the time of sale but was never disclosed. When I returned to address the issue, the manager acknowledged the damage existed before purchase and explained that "it's due to busy prom season." The store apologized for missing the defect and sent me a seamstress recommendation, but REFUSED a full refund despite the dress being sold "new" while already damaged. This was especially disappointing given the $458 price point and the expectation of basic quality control for a formal dress. I purchased the gown for a specific event and ultimately was unable to use it comfortably. Based on my experience, I would CAUTION others to thoroughly inspect dresses before leaving the store or better yet AVOID store-- but if you do risk it removing the gown from the bag at checkout and don't assume that "new" necessarily means free of defects. While the staff was polite, I left feeling misled and disappointed by both the undisclosed damage and the refusal to stand behind the condition of the item sold. They are firm on NO REFUNDS and it's the customers duty to assume gowns could be damaged so inspect it throughly and ask to have it removed from bag before purchasing. I've learned from my mistake and hope this helps others.

A lot of issues in this store! An essay could be written regarding the multitude of issues and bad…read morecustomer service episodes I experienced. I will focus on just my final pickup of goods... After checking/signing in, to pick up a suit I'd purchased (and had altered by the store... insane pricing for alterations), the associate brought my suit from the back, handed it to me and preceded to walk away, as he said, "let us know if everything fits ok". No attention to me, as the customer. No attention or dedication, to make sure Men's Warehouse's job was complete and done correctly. No desire to do anything other than run away from me, the customer. The only positive point I can speak of regarding this experience was the 1 sales associate who did assist me (Lamar). The young man had 4 customers he was already helping. However, (after I'd approached him for help) he found his way to assist me with selecting a shirt and tie to go with my suit, along with making sure the suit fit according to what I had paid for/requested. Lamar... this young man deserves a raise and a promotion for his work and attitude in that store. The man who checked me in deserves to fired. I watched this guy trying to help another customer after he'd dismissed me like I was a broke window shopper. After paying almost $1K for a suit, he dropped me in the back of the store like a bag of groceries and had the afterthought to check on me only after he'd overheard me complaining about his lack of customer service. To boot, as I was finalizing my purchase with needed accessories, I asked the guy about a cover for my suit. I even asked him if I needed to pay for a cover and he said 'no'. Good thing I didn't pay for it because he put the suit in a nice printed trash bag. I wanted and stated that I wanted a suit cover, not a shopping bag! If necessary, I was willing to pay for it. It took everything I had not to lose my composure. If it wasn't for Lamar and a nice, couple (there suiting their son up for prom. They offered their opinion on my choices) and the unfortunate fact I'd already paid... I would have walked out. I understand in this day and age how things are overpriced and workers are underpaid. However, when a customer has paid their hard earned dollar and are being reasonable in his or her request... customer service should not be a luxury you have to beg for. Once upon a time, Men's Warehouse would not only make sure you were completely outfitted from the shoes to a hat (if you wanted it)... they also had free alterations and a cover for your suit...at no charge! Of course, things change and cost are incurred. Overall, it was a bad experience and I don't plan on buying another suit from Men's Warehouse... especially the Mt Juliet/Providence location. I will go elsewhere and pay more, rather than go there. I would suggest the same for anyone else looking to purchase or rent a suit or tuxedo.

My fiancée was looking for a dress at Bridal Warehouse (which is located in the same building as…read moreTuxedo Avenue), and I decided I'd get my suit taken care of at the same time. As a casual guy in my twenties, I don't currently own a suit, so I figured a wedding was a good excuse to buy one. I went over to their Tuxedo Avenue desk and, when they couldn't find me in the system, told me they couldn't help me since I wasn't registered with them. No help in getting registered initially. No help in asking me what type of suit I was looking for. Just, nope, not in the system we can't help you. They gave me a little booklet of styles and color swatches and sent me on my way. How does one register with them? I don't know, and apparently they're not going to explain it. A little research tells me they do sell suits (opposed to just renting), but I'm not sure what a person has to do to buy from them. Afterwards I went to find my fiancée who was busy looking at dresses. She was surprised that I had finished so quickly, and I mentioned what had happened. The associate who was helping my fiancée took me over to the tuxedo desk and asked the two associates why they wouldn't help me find a suit that I liked. They had a short conversation where they explained their policy about not fitting or helping people that weren't already registered with them. Meanwhile I stood there feeling a bit awkward at the whole situation. I've been in customer service for five years and I know how rough it can be. It's completely changed my view of people who work in service jobs, and I try to go out of my way to be the type of customer that I would like to help at my job. That being said, this was really shoddy customer service all around. I came away feeling frustrated and a little embarrassed as I tried to get somebody to help me. Later that day I went to Joseph A Banks and had a wonderful experience. They fit me right away, gave me my measurements on a card, answered my questions, and showed me several styles which are going to look fantastic on my wedding day. Seriously, avoid these guys if you can.
