Update 2/2026 Proof…read moreNo. 5 has officially become one of my all-time suburban favorites. I've been here many times for brunch and dinner, and it truly never disappoints. This visit was extra meaningful because they quite literally saved my birthday evening. We had reservations at the new Bien Trucha in Wheaton, only to arrive and find it closed... with no notice. Not exactly festive. Enter Proof No. 5, swooping in like the culinary hero of the night. We enjoyed an exquisite tuna crudo, rich and beautifully balanced, and meatballs over polenta that felt like comfort dressed up for a celebration. The medallions with mushrooms and three sauces were excellent, layered, and deeply satisfying. And the cocktails? Some of the best crafted in the suburbs. Thoughtful, balanced, and dangerously easy to order a second. Warm atmosphere, consistently great food, and a team that delivers every time. We'll keep coming back. And back. And back.

Found out this place is closing soon and really sad I can't try all their dishes. Shared the Whipped Feta with olive spread on naan bread and gluten free bread. Really delicious and light and creamy. Had the wagon rider non alcoholic cocktail. Hint of raspberry and lime. My main meal I had the roasted beets salad and added salmon. Had the right amount of dressing. There were air dried and roasted beets. Get the crunch from air dried beets and pistachios. Also had a Light sweet taste. Have option to add steak, salmon, or chicken. Choose the salmon and was cooked perfectly. Very flaky and moist. There is free parking on the streets and not far from the parking garage.

First off, excellent garage parking just behind the restaurant. Great bartenders (Brigitte and Scott BOTH stellar), who handled our New York Sour's, "Skinny" Margarita's and Old Fashioned's flawlessly. Our steaks were incredible... filet's, NY Strip and a Ribeye all done perfectly. The desserts were ridiculously good, Key Lime Pie and Baked Cookie were standouts. We had an incredible server named Kendrick, who is one of the best steakhouse waiters I've ever had (and I've been everywhere!) - ask for him! Special mention to GM Danny and Maitre D Justin who really rolled out the red carpet for my wife, sister in law, cheese bag brother in law and I. We had an awesome evening and can't wait to go back. Highly, highly recommend this in town steakhouse.

The host was very accommodating and made sure we were seated where we wanted. I ordered the Pitmaster with truffle fries, and both were easily a 10/10. The mac and cheese was a great side, and the fried pickles were the perfect addition to the meal. As someone who gets full pretty quickly, I ended up sharing my burger and fries, and there was still plenty to enjoy. It wasn't very busy when we first arrived, but the restaurant gradually filled up and became quite packed as the evening went on. Overall, a great experience with delicious food and a lively atmosphere!

The staff was very attentive, with two managers stopping by personally to see how we were enjoying our meal. Beer selection also vast and delicious.

I love how open the bar area is now as well. The staff is very welcoming as usual, and the food is fantastic. I especially enjoyed the Smokin' Jeff burger. Thursday's specials included $1.49 wings and tenders. We ordered a breaded mushroom appetizer, tenders, and fries. The service was great and the food arrived in a timely manner. I did find the food lacking in seasoning. The preparation was adequate, but the flavors were somewhat bland, perhaps more suited for a child's tastebuds. I would recommend the mangy bbq sauce found that to be my favorite of the ones i tried. Overall, the food was average and could benefit from a bit more seasoning to enhance the taste in my opinion. I had considered trying their pizza but reconsidered after experiencing some stomach discomfort later that night.
