I was literally the first person to review Club Pilates UTC on Yelp over 3 years ago, and I gave them 5 stars. That's what makes writing this now even more disappointing. As of the end of this month, I will no longer be a member, and here's why. First, hygiene is a serious issue. The studio is consistently unclean and only gets properly addressed after repeated complaints. There are ant and roach traps in multiple corners, which speaks for itself. Over the years, I've raised concerns--politely and alongside other members--and only then does anything get cleaned. It shouldn't take persistent complaints to maintain basic standards. Look up at the vents and you'll see heavy dust buildup on the AC filters. This has been brought to management's attention for months, yet nothing changes. Meanwhile, the floors often have visible hair and dust, and mirrors are covered in fingerprints. When they do clean, they use overpowering, chemical-heavy products, which feels counterproductive in a space meant for health and wellness. Instructor quality has also declined significantly. Several excellent instructors have left, and the replacements have been inconsistent at best. In one class, I was introduced to a move that felt unsafe. When I asked about it afterward, the instructor said she found it on TikTok. That alone was alarming. There have also been repeated instances of instructors teaching while visibly sick. I've personally had to leave class multiple times to avoid getting ill. Only after strong complaints did this change--and now it's replaced with last-minute cancellations. On one occasion, I was already in the parking lot when I received a cancellation call. No credit was offered, despite the inconvenience. The turnover rate of instructors over the past year has been extremely high, and it shows in the declining quality of classes. Cancellations are often announced at the last minute, sometimes right at the scheduled start time, with no clear accountability or compensation. The final issue that pushed me to cancel was being charged a $15 no-show fee--despite never having missed a class. When I reached out, I initially received no response. After multiple attempts, I was connected with someone identified as a VP, who claimed I had been refunded 5-6 times in the past six months. When I asked for specifics, only three dates were provided over my 3 years as a member, and the rest were never clarified. That lack of transparency was unacceptable. I ultimately contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge. After I explained the situation, they were surprised at how it had been handled and agreed the charge was erroneous. The fee was refunded, and they indicated they would follow up with Club Pilates directly. If a business is willing to lose a long-term customer over a $15 charge--and handle it this poorly--that says a lot. It's a shame it came to this. At this point, it's clear that member experience is not a priority. Between the cleanliness issues, inconsistent instruction, poor communication, and questionable billing practices, I can no longer justify staying. There are many well-run studios out there. If you're considering this one, I recommend taking a close look at the environment, the instructors, and how concerns are handled before committing. read more

I've been at this studio for 3 years and love it. I just have to give a shout out to Thais. She is soooooo knowledgeable and has alternatives for every injury and makes sure to help. She is a true gem and has helped me more than some of the medical providers. Thank you Thais read more

Tried the intro class and signed up for a membership! Jocelyn & Sarah were great and I look forward to trying various classes! I work nearby so it is very convenient and I love that it is at UTC so parking is not a problem and there are lots of places for food, snacks, coffee, boba and groceries. read more

Jocelyn was the instructor for the intro class. She was rocking it. She let our class know that we did an intermediate level plank which is unheard of. I would love to go to this location but I can't commit since I live an hour away from this studio. But If you're close to this location I would suggest for you to try it out and give this place a chance. I went with a few friends and we had a great time. And the girl at the front desk I think her name was Sarah. She was amazing! They have a room with 12 Pilates machines and it was cool to see the different exercises and equipments too. I definitely woke up sore on my legs and back the next day. That means the Pilates stretches do wonders. read more

I have a membership here that allows me to attend four times per month. I chose to get a membership at this pilates studio because it is in a nice part of Irvine, and they seem to have quite a variety of exercises so that every class does not feel the same. Club Pilates UTC - Everyday is a good day for Pilates. - Pilates Near Me - Irvine, California

Had a great Pilates class with Katie DaSilva. She really worked us on the reformer. Music was good and not to loud.

Great instructors who push you just the right amount. Great front desk staff who are eager to help with membership questions. Great and comfortable facilities with up-to-date and well-maintained equipment. Super convenient location, particularly if you are a UCI student or staff member. Easy parking. What's not to love? Run, don't walk, to join! Can't run anymore? Me either. My joints won't take it, at least not right now. But the amount of flexibility and core strength I've gained in just a few months gives me hope that I might be able to get back into running shape in the future. read more

I've been going to UTC Club Pilates since they opened almost 4 years ago. I love the workouts and the instructors. My body feels so much better than it did when I started, even though I'm 4 years older and have always been physically active. Try it! You'll like it! read more

I've been coming here since September and I love it! I've gone to most instructors classes and they're all great! I mainly go to Jocelyn. She's very attentive to each of us and very encouraging. The staff here are also very nice and get to know everyone. I started with no experience and it's very accessible regardless of fitness level. I've seen a difference and improvement of my abilities in just a few months. I highly recommend checking them out! read more

I absolutely love Club Pilates UTC. I've been going for almost two years, and I'm consistently impressed by the high quality of the instructors and the rigor of the classes. I travel frequently for work and visit other Club Pilates studios across the country, but UTC truly feels like home. Thais deserves special recognition--she was my very first Pilates instructor ever and has been incredibly patient, supportive, and encouraging from the start. She has been so helpful in teaching me Pilates fundamentals, improving my form, and modifying movements to safely accommodate my knee issues. Her guidance has truly made me love coming to Club Pilates and feel confident in my practice. Every instructor at UTC is caring and deeply knowledgeable. Jocelyn always checks in on me during class, and I absolutely love her Center & Balance classes--she has really elevated the overall instruction at UTC through her leadership. I also enjoy Chasyn's classes for her clear, precise instruction, while Jordan brings a fun, energetic vibe to every session. Strong, thoughtful, and supportive instructors across the board. Thank you all for creating such a welcoming, high-quality experience! read more

I've been going to Club Pilates for a few months. The instructors are fantastic, each with their own style that keeps things fresh and challenging. Jocelyn is a fav--super upbeat and friendly. Thais, on the other hand, brings a slightly more strict and stern approach, which really pushes the class to work hard and stay focused. I appreciate having that balance between the two styles. I joined after taking an intro class with Korbi Kay. I also recently had Zoe as a sub, and she was fantastic! High energy, very friendly, and just as motivating as the regular instructors. Jordan at the front desk is amaaazing and so sweet as well. Overall love all of their staff!! One area for improvement: it would be great if classes started on time even if some people are running late. I usually head straight to work after class, so when it starts late and ends late, it adds a bit of stress to my morning routine. I could leave early, but with only 50 minutes per class, I'd rather get the full workout! I understand running late myself at times, so I really appreciate when classes start right on schedule. Overall, Club Pilates has been an incredible experience. If you're thinking about trying Pilates, I highly recommend this studio--it's worth it! read more

Great instructors & good energy everytime I take a class I drive all the way from LA at times, to take classes at this location in Irvine!

My favorite studio ever! Front desk is always welcoming. All instructors are really nice. -Thais is my favorite instructor, she gives a peaceful vibe, she knows all the burns you need and she is a great leader for you on your workout journey. -Jordan is so sweet!!! She always been helping me to break out from my comfort zone and try new things. She knows what she's doing and she made the classes so fun. -Kaitlyn is gentle and kind. She always makes me listen to my own body. Her class always feels so relaxed and calm. She made me feel so respected in class. Definitely recommend her! read more

I took an intro class here and it was a fantastic and detailed overview. Because it was an intro class I happened to be the only student in class so I felt as though I really got special attention to my alignment and I really appreciated that! I will say that after taking the intro class they do push the class packages and even call you later to follow up so do your research ahead of time for those conversations. At this time I did not sign up simply because all of the time slots I am able to take are always always waitlisted or full. Doesn't make sense at this time to get with both my and the studios limited availability. Other than that, really appreciated my instructor and the thorough intro and welcome. read more

We love our private classes with Zoe. She is the best. We go to the one on University center. She works on every little muscle in our body.

Likes: + Friendly, attentive, welcoming instructor. + The workout included rubbing against a massage ball to relax your muscle knots. + Variety of equipment available to accompany your pilates workout. Ample but crowded parking. Bit of a walk. I hope they added a step stool so a short person can hang the yoga mat on the high rack. Update Mar 5: Oh thank you for replying, business owner, but the concern about the high mat rack wasn't for me. It was for my neighbor. I saw she was struggling so I helped her out. read more

Was a few minutes late and the front desk receptionist wouldn't let me in. This is the first time being late and she literally won't let me in. I am so disappointed with the service! People have stuff going on, with school/work. I've seen people coming into the class even very late before. read more

( Only want for August, Cancel Aug 1st, or be billed for Sept later). Freezing is free, just call in but limited on time. Not much explanation on basics ( reformer part/etc.), so know you'll be lost in the first few classes but it's ok. Be aware that sometimes you'll be filmed ( as a class, usually no face) for their social media! CLASSES: Starting off you are limited to reformer 1 classes. Even w/ unlimited they stop u at 3 classes 4x a week ( risk of hypermobility) , but I've never met anyone who went more than one class 4x a week hahaa (the hot girl summer grind was real). STAFF: I wouldn't have signed up if my first interaction wasn't with Jackie (manager). Her patience and bright personality ( customer service queen) def persuaded & made me feel welcomed. I took 70 classes in a month, so I experienced a lot of diff instructors haha. Here's my observation during the month: X Jackie: bright, energetic. The best paced countdowns. Her cardio classes are challenging, because you're always jumping. Naturally talented at instructing. X Stephanie: Owner, subs for instructors. Pilates enthusiast. Asks class what they want to work on & personally adjust all equipment. X Aryn: very consistent ( leg, glute bridge, posture). Challenging due to lots of auditory cues for posture. Calm voice and nice tempo. X Kimberly: motherly vibe. Lots of variety w/ barre/mobility inspiration. Teaches patiently. Educates on terminology/use of equipment X Aly: couldn't take her much d/t schedule. Good pace, clear, long countdowns & endurance/ab work. Will do exercises with you and incorporate variety. Good vibes X Maryann: seasoned pilates instructor. Gentle demeanor with some humor. It's like you do something basic ( ring), but she'll twist it in a way you've never thought of before. Very supportive & pairs well with Kimberly to advance practice. X Naz: incorporates a lot of new moves but in a fast pace. Lots of glute work. Not recommended for beginner ( can be lost), but solid workout. X Tawnya: wasn't able to take class much. Ab/posture work with some dancer element. Adjusted my form which I have been implementing! X Thais: teaches most of evening / 1.5 alt classes. Classes are always full!! Sorta like an mma queen, but also affirms and makes you feel safe/stable. Always some sort of ab work, and flows have foot work. Consistent curriculum, but can be muscle building ( esp in control/suspend). One thing I noticed is that she works well with people of all ages and never makes anyone feel like they are falling behind. I've seen her work with seniors and kids, and she's always been able to adjust in an affirming manner. If you have some sort of neck or back injury, always tell the instructor & they will modify the exercise for you. I hope this helps you make an informed decision :). Feel free to message me for any additional questions ( wrote over word limit oops lol) , or call the studio. Overall benefits I've noticed with pilates is improved flexibility and stronger core ( never realized I never did a proper plank before qq) . I enjoyed my time here! read more

I've been taking classes at this location for almost two years. For the last several months I've been on the unlimited plan--this might give you an idea of how much I enjoy and am challenged by these classes. Every single instructor and staff member is friendly and welcoming, and the clientele is diverse. Ive been doing pilates off and on for 15 years and have never seen such a range of students. This might be my favorite thing about this studio. I take classes with elders, middle-aged moms and dads, and young people. Some are beginners and others look like gymnasts but in class we're all just trying to improve and do our best. It's a very warm and nonjudgey environment. The instructors are all amazing, but I particularly enjoy classes with Jocelyn, Sofia, and Thais. Highly recommend. read more

I've already written a google review, but the Club (and Jocelyn, with whom I've had the most classes) deserves more praise. As a 71 year old guy, I'm not the typical Club Pilates member. But even after just a couple of months I've gotten a lot out of it. All instructors have been great. Jocelyn in particular is patient and guides me through the routines, respecting my limits even as she pushes me to them.... A very positive experience. read more

This studio, specifically Jocelyn with her immense knowledge and patient coaching, has really helped me get stronger. The classes offer a range of options from deep stretching to intense strength training- TRX, bands, discs. The classes are always different but very effective. Also the instructor (and the pilates reformer design) prevent you from getting hurt as you get stronger. This studio is better than any of the others I've tried. Love it. read more

This studio is located in Irvine at the UTC Center by UCI. Ample of parking which is nice and the studio itself is beautiful and brand new which opened in March 2022. I signed up for a 3 month membership on opening day and they had these specials of 20% off but I was never given that so I paid $160 a month for 8 classes a month which is pretty steep given they were a new studio still figuring out the kinks of getting a working water machine, working ac etc. Temporarily they still do have a portable ac which gets the job done for the most part but cant imagine what it will be like in these coming summer months. With these basic amenities not available I strongly believe all memberships should have been discounted regardless at least 10-15%. The classes itself are great but limited space which I found to be frustrating and the reason for ending my membership. I enjoy working out after work so my ideal class time is 5:30pm and it is literally impossible to get into any of the 5:30pm classes during the week unless its a Friday. So I became a morning person which was like pulling teeth but I ended up really enjoying Jada's 6:30am classes on Monday morning--she is an awesome instructor and plays great tunes. The owner Stefanie is also really passionate and when she teaches a class she is really all about form and challenges everyone-- I wish she taught more classes but she went on maternity leave in early April but heard she will be back in July. Otherwise, the other instructors were a hit or miss-- some lacked that outgoing personality, some lacked in correcting form and other instructors had favorites that they were only concerned about and disregarded the rest of the class. Overall, the classes itself are challenging, low impact and really work those core muscles. If you are looking to focus on any of these then I recommend Pilates! Tip: grip socks required for any class-- if you don't have any you can purchase in studio for $16-$22--not cheap so come prepared :) If you do sign up with the studio be prepared to give a 30 day notice before your next billing date or they will not terminate contract. I gave my 30 day notice 4/15 and still had to be charged for my 5/6 billing date because it wasn't 30 days so keep this in mind when joining. Otherwise, drop in for a class is $30. I would also leave any valuables at home as my car keys were taken from my cubby and that was a whole different ordeal which cost me a lot to get a new spare. No one was helpful in this ordeal except for Jada who had offered the possibility of looking at cameras a couple days later but others were no help-- and questioned if I even had them to begin with-- how did I get there then? Oh well I chopped up the loss. read more
