I've been doing pilates for quite a few years now but would try different types; classical, lagree (not really pilates but uses many of the same techniques), etc. BASI is a whole different ball game. From the multiple unique and different pieces of equipment, to the precision of breath and each hand and foot placement, you can tell that the BASI method reaches a much deeper level of alignment and physical strength. On top of that, my first class teacher Priscilla, was not only adorable, but super professional. She first asked about my physical history (injuries or pain), then if I had done pilates before, and also paid special attention the fact that I also do yoga, karate, dance, and spin regularly. It was obvious that my body was overcompensating on some levels, and stubborn to change and realignment in some areas. She was kind yet stern, and corrected every detail of my body and breath throughout the entire class. I have to say that the class was surprisingly more difficult than I thought it would be. I love a challenge, and I can tell that this will be my new favorite one! I'm excited to see Priscilla again and also try out some other instructors as I've heard great things about many of them. I had a great 30 minute complimentary reformer intro with Yurika. It was very intense, focused on proper body positioning. Basi is an excellent inclusive learning academy for Pilates. Over the past weekend I began my Pilates certification and had a good customer service experience for my training. I've been in the health and fitness industry for 14 years and have taken many certification. There is a high level of staff who is knowledgeable. Brandon was exceptional and detailed oriented in his teaching and professionalism. Stella was a big help to me personally getting my books in order and providing a welcoming attitude. Schooling was a joke, test out was a joke, biggest waste of almost 5k and what did I get in return absolutely nothing, was treated subpar as well just not a good experience for me and a total rip off, I was compensated nothing, oh a few emails stating for me to come in and retest but no thanks I'm not dealing with that stuck up attitude , don't need it, didn't ask for it, just kind of a dream crusher and never Pursued anything after that testing experience, a bit of a spurt crusher for me So good luck to the rest of you, as for me I might as well just set that money on fire read more

I've studied with several different pilates teachers over the years and feel blessed to have connected with both Rael Isacowitz and Stella Lampkin. Stella is wonderfully attentive to every student during all the group classes and has a depth of knowledge that is simply stellar! My strength and form has improved immeasurably through attending her classes. I've also had a private lesson with Rael, which was truly remarkable and inspiring--I'm so glad to have had the privilege to work with such a master in a private lesson format. It's a bit of a drive for me, but totally worth it. I feel like I have found a perfect pilates fit with this studio and Rael & Stella! I always like to do pilates and want to learn more about Body and Mind. BASI Pilates Studio is the most amazing studio in the world and I have seen a lot of Pilates studios. I honestly don't think there is another one like it anywhere. You can have 40 people in there and still have room to work out. They even have a shop that sells Pilates clothing, books and DVD's. The instructors are welcoming and very talented. The have all been trained in the BASI method of Pilates and really know their stuff. Each session is tailored to your personal needs. I can't say enough about Basi Pilates Studio in Costa Mesa. With 25 years of continuing back problems from standing up at the hair salon and lots of money spent on Chiropractic adjustments, the only thing that really strengthen my body the right way has been taking Pilates from the Basi Studio. The studio is very clean which really good and the staff is very kind and is willing to help to accommodate your needs. The instructors and apprentices there are so kind and so thorough in educating you about every muscle you are using while you exercise . This is important so you get excel ant results and prevent any accidents There is nothing like it any where. And I have taken Pilates classes before at different studios and Basi Pilates is by far the best studio.. As a person that works hard to be an athlete and is proud when others recognize it, I felt this studio gave me the most difficult workouts I have had. I have participated in marathons, hiked, surfed, Bikram yoga and in most sports and it was this one that after one hour I knew I had tapped my resources.
