Very expensive, staff was friendly...not sure it's worth the cost. Why does it cost so much?

The studio is super cute…read more Inside there is a lobby area if you will which then leads to the classroom which use to be a dance studio fixed with surrounding mirrors and barre. The class utilizes the Pilates Reformer machines which was very interesting to use as a first timer but I truly enjoyed it. I have only done mat pilates before at global gyms and lemme tell ya... not the same. At. All. Karen was the instructor and she was very attentive. Looking forward to my next class.

Totally worth it, do yourself a favor and buy a Pilates Reformer package and just try it! Before I tried this studio: I only recently tried Pilates on the reformer while recovering from foot surgery (so I have some special needs as I rebuild muscle and get stronger). I had gone to 4 sessions at 2 other studios before this (in LA and Austin). I was liking how I could immediately start to feel the workouts tone my body, but was on the fence about how mentally engaging and motivating the sessions were (practically the same exact routine all four times), and its too expensive to be on the fence. Then I went to Faye's Art & Soul Yoga. Her classes are always a surprise because she has a slue of exercises and really mixes it up for a great full body work out - the hour flies by. I've only gone a few weeks but I haven't been to the same class twice. She plays motivating music which I found to be joyfully unique. She promotes yoga stretches in between so even though you SWEAR you'll be sore after the workout, you really aren't. And she is super sweet to boot. I wish she could move with me out to Seattle because I don't know how I'm going to find a studio I like as much as Art & Soul Yoga :(

I feel incredibly fortunate to have had the opportunity to learn from her. Melissa is exceptionally knowledgeable, incredibly detail-oriented, and one of the kindest, most patient teachers I've had the privilege of practicing with. Her professionalism shines through in every class, and she has a wonderful ability to make each student feel seen, supported, and encouraged. She gives her full attention to everyone, creating an environment where you feel comfortable, confident, and excited to learn. The few Mysore classes I've taken with Melissa certainly won't be my last. Each one has left me feeling well cared for, inspired, and eager to continue growing in my practice. Thank you, Melissa, for everything you do. I'm so grateful that my yoga journey led me to Marla, and now to you as well and couldn't imagine my practice without any of you. I truly feel blessed to learn from such compassionate and dedicated teachers as I continue down this path. I really loved the power yoga class I took with Ang yesterday! My friend Erin, a long-time student…read moreat Sol, organized a private class for a group of ladies. When I walked into the space, I realized instantly that it was heated - ruh roh! It had been a long time since I last took a heated yoga class and I was a little bit nervous. Then, we were told we would be experiencing a 60-minute power yoga. Power yoga?! Now I was really sweating and not just because of the heat! In hindsight, I'm glad these two elements were a surprise because I may have been too intimidated to sign-up had I known. Happily, Ang's laid-back attitude and casual conversation at the beginning and throughout class really helped me relax and get into it. I really liked the background music as well. It was a mix of folky, new age-y meditation music and it was just perfect for setting the tone of a non-judgemental and fun practice. An hour flew by and I was sweating like crazy but I enjoyed every second! Sometimes my mind wanders in yoga classes and I find myself thinking, "When will this be over?" That never happened during Ang's class. I think the hour length was just right. Though Conshohocken is a bit of a hike for me, I'd strongly recommend this studio to anyone nearby who is looking for a relaxed and fun setting for their yoga practice.

I guess I should start out this review by saying I'm an x athlete. I've been an avid active person…read moresince childhood. However; after my extreme surfing accident where I broke my nose and screwed up my neck and back pretty good I wasn't able to get through my regular yoga classes even in the beginners class. Since Mayor Nutter has made parking in town extremely hard and expensive, I was really sick of trying to make class on time with the headache of trying to find parking for the downtown studios. That said, I found a wonderful Yoga studio in my hood that caters to "Real People" Hah! I didn't even know that was their tagline until I went on their website. I figured I try a free class and see how it felt. The instructor/owner was very maternal and didn't push. There was no praying, I'm not religious and if I wanted to pray or sing I'd go to Shule. I was also happy to see that there weren't too many of those hot young yoga girls with all their tattoo and showing off how far they can stretch. I know its not a competition but pleeeze! I took the Stress Relief class and I was so impressed, I signed up for a bunch more. Now I have a choice of either riding my bike or driving. And since its in the burbs, free ample parking. Hooray.

The Yoga class was for all levels, but most of the people had some prior yoga experience. As a beginner I found most of the poses were doable. I would describe the instructor's style as no-nonsense, she was mostly concerned with the proper form of the poses, as opposed to the more spiritual/meditative aspects of yoga. After yoga class, we all went down to the basement for the beer tasting which was held at two long communal tables. Yummy snacks were provided (pretzel bites, granola and chocolate covered dried fruit), and we got to taste 6 different beer styles. Don't come expecting to get too buzzed, the tastings are about 2-3 oz each. Don Russell (aka Joe Sixpack) provided informative notes about the brewers and the beer styles. Overall, it was a unique and fun event. Recommend!
