So glad I decided to try out the intro class at IM=X Pilates & Fitness. The studio is super cute…read more Inside there is a lobby area if you will which then leads to the classroom which use to be a dance studio fixed with surrounding mirrors and barre. The class utilizes the Pilates Reformer machines which was very interesting to use as a first timer but I truly enjoyed it. I have only done mat pilates before at global gyms and lemme tell ya... not the same. At. All. Karen was the instructor and she was very attentive. Looking forward to my next class.

FAYE IS AMAZING!!! I rarely (if ever?) proclaim I want to give a place 6 stars, but this is one of…read morethem. Totally worth it, do yourself a favor and buy a Pilates Reformer package and just try it! Before I tried this studio: I only recently tried Pilates on the reformer while recovering from foot surgery (so I have some special needs as I rebuild muscle and get stronger). I had gone to 4 sessions at 2 other studios before this (in LA and Austin). I was liking how I could immediately start to feel the workouts tone my body, but was on the fence about how mentally engaging and motivating the sessions were (practically the same exact routine all four times), and its too expensive to be on the fence. Then I went to Faye's Art & Soul Yoga. Her classes are always a surprise because she has a slue of exercises and really mixes it up for a great full body work out - the hour flies by. I've only gone a few weeks but I haven't been to the same class twice. She plays motivating music which I found to be joyfully unique. She promotes yoga stretches in between so even though you SWEAR you'll be sore after the workout, you really aren't. And she is super sweet to boot. I wish she could move with me out to Seattle because I don't know how I'm going to find a studio I like as much as Art & Soul Yoga :(

My husband and I have been taking a private Pilates with Christina for the past 6 months. When we…read morestarted we were total beginners and Christina was very patient with us and very upbeat about our progress, even as newbies. Pilates was great for our bodies individually, and it was also a great activity for us to do as a couple. My husband is strong in a lot of ways, but it was really great to see how Pilates got to new places in his body and strengthened them. I definitely strengthened my core muscles in a way that I didn't know was possible, and it is now easier for me to sit up straight and have posture better. I was especially needing this inner core tightening after having two children, and think that all women who have had babies can really use Pilates after having things all stretched out in the mid section and the pelvic floor :) People have asked both my husband and I if we grew taller since we started our Pilates classes, and we no doubt feel taller because of our regular private Pilates classes. Being strong in our bodies through our Pilates classes has improved our lives all around. I think when you are strong in your body, you are stronger in your life as well. Thanks so much Christina for being an awesome teacher. I highly recommend Pilates for everyone.

I've been regularly attending this gym for about six months, and it has its ups and downs for sure…read more When I come to LA Fitness, I utilize the weights and treadmills for the most part. Overall, there's a good variety and amount of machines to target every muscle group I've wanted to target. Some of the machines are difficult to adjust because I think they're so old- the kind you have to twist some knob to adjust, and then retwist the knob to lock it into place. After some guy who previously lifted 350 lbs on the machine, sometimes I can't twist the adjustment knob and often find myself uncomfortably trying to use the equipment. There are ample treadmills and ellipticals, and a few stair masters as well. The treadmills are just about the only ones I've used this century that don't charge my iPod while I run... but I think what gets me is the lack of fans (and, well, overall airflow). I joined LA Fitness in the fall, but if I'm getting too hot in here in the winter then I know it'll be torture in the summer if they don't do anything. Also there are quite a few broken treadmills, and they usually sit a while before they are repaired. I've had 2 break on me personally while I was just trying to get a good run in. I heard from their [former] manager that the treadmills are the next piece of equipment due for an upgrade. Please, please invest in ones that have little fans on each one.

I think this gym has some cool machines ive never seen before, now they look about 100 years old…read morebut they are a cool option. Its just too bad I dont like actually touching any of the equipment since it just feels gross to the touch. No one cleans their machines post use and its probably because all there is are these tiny thin wipes that dry out by the time you even make it back to the machine. Invest in some better cleaning system, i wonder how many people have gotten ring worm from this place.

Love Life Time. It's my safe haven for an enjoyable, rewarding time with my community that I now…read morecall my friends! The staff who take care of the building are diligent and helpful. My only feedback is that they need to have better yoga and cycling teachers. This means that the teachers should be engaging and supporting; at the very least, smiling at each member and making them feel like they belong in the class. We need the instructors to improve and be more engaging. Like previous Life Time Wayne yoga teachers: Caitlin and Amy. Also, the music can be too loud in the workout floors and in the locker rooms at night. Everyone has earbuds in anyways, so why blast the music?? Looking forward to the improvements.

I have been a member of the Lifetime in Wayne, Pennsylvania for roughly a year and a half and just…read moredecided to cancel my membership. To start with, here are the good things: 1. Nice Equipment 2. Generally nice floor staff 3. Pretty clean 4. Good class selection. The not so good: 1. It is SO expensive and they keep increasing the price, even on existing members. There are also certain things that I assumed were included in the exorbitant membership only to find that they had exorbitant fees of their own. For example: I was wrong to think I could bring a guest to the pool, that would be an additional $50. Unless you use it daily and make use of the amenities (which I did for most of my time) it is very hard to justify. 2. I was initially really excited to belong to Lifetime but had some interactions with staff that left a really bad taste in my mouth. For example: I invited a friend to join me in my workout and was confronted and told training people was not allowed when I demonstrated how to do an exercise. The confrontation was hostile enough that my friend said outright that he would not consider joining the gym to work out with me. 3. It has become very overcrowded to the point that during peak hours it is hard to get floor space, which is a reality for a lot of gyms but still worth noting. For people that really want to workout, you can expect to change your workout to account for a lack of equipment availability. On occasion the only version of a machine has been out of operation for months at a time. 4. There are a lot of ways that the gym feels corporate and focused on a mission of making the most money possible at the expense of member's experience. The 30 day cancellation policy is a final example of opportunistically gouging you because they can rather than just letting you go before the next billing period. In hindsight I regret giving roughly $3800 to Globo Gym when I have had better experiences elsewhere for so much less. I really would not have bothered to write this if they would just let me go but the last ~$180 (prorated) monthly fee is worth it for them. You will meet some nice people at this gym but that is in spite of not because of LifeTime.
