I had a mostly positive experience here during my pregnancy, and usually enjoyed classes. After giving birth, it has been hard to make it in on regular basis as I struggle with balancing being a new mom, work, and my health. As I try to get back into prioritizing my health again, I had suspended my membership but still enjoyed drop in classes. I even still paid the $39 (increased) one time class fee. So after having a night where I struggled all night with a sick baby, I was so proud of myself that I STILL made it into the 6am class (I can only make it in before she wakes up and my husband goes to work). I did arrive a few minutes late and it took me another minute to get my shoes off and coat hung (it was 607 when I was ready to get on the reformed). It was quite disappointing that I was denied entry at this time. A company that lacks any compassion or flexibility is not a company I plan to frequent or refer others to in the future. It is also worth noting that I was denied entry by an instructor I've been treated rudely by in the past which makes me question if she has an underlying bias against me (perhaps against people of color or plus size women) as she was the only one to repeatedly attempt to deny me entry or challenge my ability to do the class while I was pregnant (despite providing physician documentation and no push back from other instructors). I am disappointed to be writing such a negative review, but want to save others their time and especially their money by avoiding this studio. The classes are ALWAYS waitlisted - you have to sign up weeks in advance to get a spot, and the late cancellation fees are steep. The workouts are the most repetitive and ineffective of any other pilates studio I have attended. The instructors do not give any modifications on how to make any of the movements more challenging or provide suggestions to increase intensity. Some of the instructors are great, but there are a couple that come off quite rude and make no effort to get to you, even if you attend class everyday for months. There is no initial communication about how to "level up" and once you finally jump through all of the hoops to attend a Level 2 class, they are only offered on a very limited schedule. The studio was always FREEZING and the music was often very quiet so all you can hear is others audibly breathing. When I tried to cancel my membership, I provided the written 30 day notice, but they say that due to the "billing cycle" cadence, I have to pay for almost an entire extra month of my membership. It is not ever made clear when the billing cycle is, or by which date you would need to cancel to avoid being billed another entire month so BEWARE. They are extremely unresponsive and it all feels like a total scam. I have attended so many different studios, specifically Pilates, and was so disappointed that this one was not worth the high price tag. read more

What I love: I no longer groan when I get into or out of a chair. The instructors are excellent and do give tips to modify if you tell them you may need it. They always ask how your body is feeling prior to getting started. I have been a member off and on for over 5 years. Never had any trouble suspending or canceling my membership but then I read my agreement before I set my expectations. All of it is reasonable. Classes seem to fly by. Staff seems genuinely glad to see me but then I always come in with a smile and put out what energy I'd like to get back. Never been disappointed. The world has all kinds of people in it and not everyone is going to be an outgoing friendly sort. Some are focused on the responsibilities of their job and may come across as less friendly but they are kind and committed to helping you if you ask. It's a little hard to get to know others in this environment because we're all lying on our backs for a good part of it but I'm not there to make friends. I'm there to get strong and stay flexible. Yes the studio is a bit cold and I dress in layers. They have always adjusted the music volume up or down if we ask. What I would like to see improved: offering more classes because it's hard to get scheduled last minute in the current week. I do think providing some more information about how and when to level up a class could help more of us feel comfortable in making the push. The room for the classes is small and sometimes we are bumping into each other but it's not a big issue. (I just noticed how much more space I had in other studios). Overall, I gave a 5 rating because I think this is a good business, led by people who do care and who will treat you right if you do your part. That is, familiarize yourself with their rules and be honest with yourself about being able to do what you are committing to. Getting to the class 7 minutes late is too late. You've missed the warm-up and the whole class will be impacted by you trying to catch up so don't sign up unless you do plan to come on time. A steep cancellation fee means fewer empty reformers by people who don't show so more of us can participate. Nothing annoys me more than seeing empty reformers in a booked class with a wait list. That's not on the business. That's on us. read more

Flexibility with scheduling. Sometimes, it's okay to allow grace for your customers when first time mistakes happen when booking. Honestly, it's unnecessary stress from the staff when it can be avoided. It's bad customer service. I understand there's policies but there should also be good customer service. read more

Im sharing my unexpected experience. There's trap. $100 penalty and $15 each time you cancel the class. I attended a free class and decided to sign up for the membership because the front lady explained about the promotion. After a month, now, i decide to stop going and I can't stop membership my self so I called them. She said there's 90days COMMITMENT TO PAY OR $100 for penalty THAT SHE DID NOT INFORM ME at the time I signed up. This is very important information for everyone who wants to start Pilates in here. I wouldn't start if i knew it. I just start to see how it works during promotion period and see if I still like it or not. However, they charge me $100 for canceling membership $15 for canceling class via mobile app.!! read more

Well I guess I should have read the reviews before I joined. If you sign up you will never be able to end your contract. I did not attend a class for a year. But they continue to charge my card. We have emailed and called. We don't understand how a business thinks it's ok to charge you for a service you are not using! Please, Please , watch out for this business. I got injured in October and so I wasn't really able to attend classes in November, so I put my account on hold for December. You can't end your membership if your account is on pause, they require 30 days notice. So in January I reached out to them explaining all of this and what had happened and asked if they could make an exception since I'm injured and it's not that I don't want to take the classes, but that I actually physically can't. They said they could not void the the cancellation notice. The best they could do was change my account from 8 classes/month which costs $199 to 4 classes/month which costs $119 and extended for one month. I told them the decision really disappointing and you would think they would consider the wellness of a person over a policy given the industry they are in. I hope they would reconsider policies for others in the future. I had been going for nearly a year when all of this started. And in the end had to pay $119 for 4 more classes that I won't be able to use after having not been able to attend classes for other months already. In a perfect world they would have been more understanding, waived the fee, and I would have returned after fully healing. read more

The instructors are amazing and I can't thank everyone enough. In January an autoimmune attack took out my legs and I spent weeks unable to stand due to extreme nerve damage followed by pain I can only describe as horrific. With determination I spent months using a wheelchair and transfer boards to do everything. I relearned how to stand and walk and can now feel. The front of my legs are much slower to recover making stairs and the gym a challenge. Every pilates class is helping me rebuild. The reformer tables are sweet heaven and learning the movements is so exciting. I come out of class each time with a renewed sense of achievement and I can't wait for the next one! read more

Convenient location Now for why they are a 4 star review... I feel like this studio is so close to a 5 star rating but I was thrown off by the Introductory free "class" as it wasn't a class at all. It was an instructor explaining how to use the equipment then a short presentation on their memberships. The "class" should be called something other than a class. The instructors were mediocre and most were not focused on proper technique, the studio is too crowded - reformers + equipment is packed in. No space at all. The intro class is a waste of time and should not be called a class, and the membership requirement is annoying if all you want to do is try out a couple classes to see if you like the place. Total disappointment. Found an excellent pilates studio in Tualitan that I am happily going to now. Usually wise to stay away from most (not all) franchise exercise studios. A real disappointment. Suggestions: eliminate 3-4 reformers to acquire more space, improve music during class, get better instructors or train who you do have better, get rid of locked in membership and offer single, five or ten class, etc. choices. read more

This owner wants absolutely no negative feedback about his business. He ignores emails he doesn't want to deal with. I was actually kicked out of this franchise, because I wrote him an email saying I disagreed with how he treated an older member of the studio, and how I felt he had publicly disciplined one of his staff. Two months later, my membership was terminated and I was given no reason.There are good instructors at the Progress Ridge location, but the owners maintain a such cliquey environment that members have be careful not to get dragged in to the drama. Note to owner regarding his reply: If my membership was terminated because I was "harassing and bullying" members and staff, you probably would have mentioned that in my termination email. The email I received after I complained over email, said that "Club Pilates was no longer meeting my expectations", so my membership was cancelled. I had a lovely experience at this studio, with staff and members alike. My issue was with the owners alone (who I've never actually spoken to in person). If complaining in an email about the negative atmosphere in the studio constitutes bullying and harassment, then maybe the content of this post proves how unprepared these owners are at managing any kind of problem with their business that they may take personally. read more

Looks like I'm not the only giving 1 star for this business, this is a scam . I went to one intro class and finding myself committed to three months membership when I specifically told Alex at the front desk that I can't commit with work right now and don't know if I'll be able to attend the class commitment . But Alex keep repeating don't worry about it "WE will take care of you" , told her I didn't want to commit or sign contract " don't worry we will take care of you" , but I don't want to pay any extra fees or be under contract " don't worry we will take care of you " . Guess what , after the intro class never got a chance to go back, try to call and ask i I could stop paying for something I'm not using, and now all the sudden I'm being hang up to Alex speaks over me on the hone, hang up on me , tell me I'm harassing her when it's my first time calling since the intro class , all the sudden now there is no more "we will take care of you" now it's like $100 if you wish to cancel and you get all the classes you already paid for thrown out of the window. Worst customer service and experience. They are being all nice to you (can only talk about Alex) for you to sign all the contract they make you sign, which you don't have copy of BTW, but once you signed and paid ...watch out for the change of affection, you aren't their favorite person no more. the whole, "with Covid we want to be here for our clients and be flexible , we got you " is BS - no flexibility attitude and victim attitude in telling me that "harassments is illegal" I just wanted to break the knot and never be affiliated with this studio ever again . read more

Both my 12 year old and I have been coming to Club Pilates Progress Ridge for almost three years!! Believe me when I said CPPR has the most loving, wonderful, and flexible staffs and instructors!! It's not easy to keep a nine year old interested with anything not along making her get out of bed at 8am on the weekend to go to a Pilates class! These amazing people in CPPR did it and we are hitting the three years mark (both my dtr and I)!! The staffs, instructors, and the owners truly cares and love their customers and they always have events and prizes to encourage all members to get involved with our community. Since going to CPPR, our whole family are able to practice the skills we learned in the small size classes and apply them into our daily living. We are all more aware of our body movements and joint function. Yes, weight loss and getting a tone body is definitely a bonus! The classes were pleasant and instructors helpful. I wasn't able to attend to limited availability and you have to book out the classes in advance. When it came to cancellation I called to cancel membership 2 weeks in advance. Was told I have to give 30 day notice and that I would be charged for extra month . I attempted to asked not to be changed they simply refused. 4 classes cost almost $100 and I am being changed a month worth for not attending it. I am in town for a few days and decided to try my first Pilates class. I ended up loving it so much that I signed up for another one for later that same day! I love Club Pilates! The instructors are fantastic - each unique but so skilled and helpful. The small class size allows personalized instruction, adjustment and modifications. The classes are fun and the time flies by because the instructors make it fun and you're always moving. Love the reformer - really lets you focus on isolating muscles and staying safe. It feels like a family - the staff, instructors, and everyone taking the classes are so friendly and supportive. Scheduling is easy with the app, the class offerings make it easy to find times that work and the location makes it easy to pop in and out. I've been a member at Club Pilates Progress Ridge since they opened. Pilates on a reformer is my favorite form of exercise. My core strength has improved a ton and I stand taller, have better balance, and overall feel healthier since I've made Pilates part of my wellness plan. As a heavy set woman I was really worried that I wouldnt be able to do the workout or keep up... but there are so many adjustments you can make for any body type or for anyone with an injury. This review is more for how they conduct their business, rather than the classes themselves, which I have not tried. I looked into this studio as an option to take barre classes and regular Pilates classes, having moved to the area. They wanted to charge me about $30, just to try this class. This is the only fitness studio which I have ever come across that will not let you try whichever class you will like, for free, prior to signing up. They offer you a free "beginners" Pilates class, but as that is not what I am interested in taking there, as well as not being a beginner, this is of no use to me. Their class packages are quite expensive, so trying prior to purchasing is a must. Furthermore, after having told somebody on the phone that I was not interested in paying $30 to try a class (Barre 3, Tone 1,The Bar Method, Xtend Barre, Plate or literally any other Pilates studio is free to try), this studio continued to call me, as well as text me, asking me whether I'd like to try a class, about 5 or 6 calls in total, which was extremely annoying. read more

My husband and I love this club pilates. All the staff are amazing. The instructors do such a good job teaching and making sure we are safe and doing things right. When the club first opened I made my husband come and do a demo class, he did not want to go. Now I can't get him away. We did the unlimited plan and it has made things so easy. The app on your phone and on the computer makes things easy to schedule your class. The owners are personable. The whole staff make you feel welcome each time. They all remember you.
