Stretch and sweat (or glisten) and more, through a 50 minutes class with a wonderful group of peeps. Great welcoming energy there too! Love the Instructors too! They are so encouraging despite my inability to do it all the first class. Plenty of reps I couldn't quite complete, but I'll work on that. Be sure to have socks on since there are no bare feet or shoes in the studio. Bring water to hydrate and you can have it close to you in class. They also have water fountains available too. They provide small lockers (adequate for shoes, sunglasses, phone, and small purse or wallet) and you can bring your own lock if you want. The bands, weights, mats, and balls are all provided and used during the class. They even have a bit of merchandise for sale too, so you can strut your Barre fandom. ;-) I'll be back for sure each time I come visit in Albuquerque. I highly recommend!

I've been going to CedarFIT off and on since 2012. I first starting going under a special plan and…read moreenjoyed my results. It is a pretty pricey membership to attend, but now that there are two locations, it does make it better value. If you miss a day or two, or even a week, it makes you regret spending a lot of money for a membership. That helps me be consistent, but it isn't always affordable or within my budget. I have recently re-joined after injuring myself likely due to heavy lifting worsened by my job of having to hike daily. I like that most of the trainers are well versed in how to modify the movements and keep it from hurting myself further. I wish that Cedar did more of the training herself because she is top notch. I appreciate trainers looking out for proper form and hope that going here will help me rebuild muscles and stabilizers for me to continue my journey.

That being said, when I first began CedarFit he was concerned that I would be joining a "gym" that was about the burn without care for safety. Needless to say, his fears regarding CedarFit were misconstrued. The coaches at CedarFit take every care to ensure safety and form. This isn't to say that they go "easy" on you...these coaches will push you to your utmost potential as you evolve towards your fitness goals. Whether those goals are to lose weight, gain muscle, or just get healthy, they provide the tools and motivation to help you do your best. One thing I value more than anything about CedarFit is the community. It is one big happy family. One concern I had before starting was that it would be clicky or that people would be judgemental. Not here! I was warmly welcomed by all. Ever since joining the CedarFit family, i have made lasting friendships with other positive people.

I'm traveling across country and chose Bhava in Albuquerque. I'm glad I did!…read more I took Marisol's intermediate class, and it was a great choice. The room was small, without mirrors (which I LOVE). Marisol's energy was so bright and warm. She expressed an interest in me and my practice, and was very encouraging to everyone throughout class. She takes the instruction where the class wants to go, and they decided to work on full splits. Although I can't do a full split (my excuse is that I'm a guy) her encouragement gave me the confidence to attempt it deeper than I ever have. I would go back in a second. The whole space had a great vibe.

The "Yoga Hour" classes are exactly that: just an hour long. They are mixed level and only $6 to attend (cash only). The class I took was at 7:30am and while it wasn't the most challenging of classes, it was a great way to start my day. It was missing music... I'm not sure if Bhava plays music in the other classes or not. Also, to note: appears that in a couple of weeks, this class will be taught by Joe and not Michael. The studio itself is clean, colorful, and inviting. They also have plenty of mats for those that don't bring their own, and props as well. The schedule of classes has some variety with yoga hour classes throughout, as well as some intermediate, fundamentals, and workshops too. I'd definitely return on a future visit to Albuquerque to practice at Bhava.

Yoga vibrations has been open for a year already and they're hitting their stride…read more Stephanie, the owner, was my instructor for the Sacred Flow class I took at 5:15 on a Tuesday afternoon. It was a hot yoga class (though more like warm yoga), which i think is their jam, but it was slow, low impact, and meditative. Stephanie introduced some fun postures that I don't see as often and I wasn't totally warn out afterwards. They seem to have a variety of intensity levels, and at least two evening classes during the week. The studio is spacious, airy, with high ceilings and the requisite wall of mirrors and laminate floors. There's plenty of space to accommodate easily 20 students or more. My class only had two students, which was awesome! Nothing worse than having to squeeze in to a sweaty spot! The music was well curated, not too hippie-dippy-Yogi, with a great energetic flow for the hour. The temperature was just warm enough to bring me to a good sweat midway through the class, and not so overbearing as to be stifling when I opened the door to the studio, or suffocating during the work. All in all, it was a really great experience, that I found a killer deal for on Groupon (Hashtag protips!): $31 for an unlimited month. But even without the Groupon i think it's only $85 for an unlimited month, and that's a screaming deal for yoga in Albuquerque! Stephanie's studio is so charming and relaxing, the attention to detail (plants, artwork, statuary, a fountain to stifle ambient noise) is really well thought out to bring maximum serenity feels. And Stephanie herself is as lovely as a business owner gets. I definitely recommend Yoga Vibrations to all of you Nob Hill Yogis. It's in a fabulous location, and offers a really perfect after-work wind-down.

The leadership at this F45 is phenomenal, the community is welcoming, and the workouts are challenging and fun. It's hard work, but there's so much going on that the time absolutely flies by. We traveled to Albuquerque for Labor Day weekend to visit my In-laws. We usually stay at an Airbnb when we visit, but decided to stay at Springhill Suites this time. After a long day of travel with small children and a connecting flight mishap, we sat down for dinner at Cocina Azul next to the hotel. I glanced out the window, and I was shocked when I saw a sign for F45 among the list of businesses in the complex. In a beautiful coincidence, I had signed up for a membership at my local F45 in the Bay Area the day before we left for our trip, after I had been searching for the "right fit" in a gym for a while. The morning after I saw the F45 sign, I called F45 Albuquerque and spoke to Kendall, who I believe is the owner. I explained my situation and asked if I could pay as a drop in, and she generously offered to host me!! I took two classes: one with Stephanie and the other with Stephanie and Bodhi. Stephanie was so welcoming. She went out of her way to look out for me and patiently help me with both form and logistics (moving to the correct stations). Bodhi helped me with a really challenging station, and taught me something game changing in just a few seconds! I am so grateful for this precious and unexpected gift. Thank you so much, Kendall. Run, don't walk, to this fantastic F45! And if you can't run easily right now, it's okay -- you're going to level up in your strength and endurance quickly at this wonderful gem of a gym!

Whenever I travel I like to take advantage of trying new Bikram studios and I was pleased to find one in Albuquerque. Bikram yoga without heat is like ice skating in August. She even worked with my treating physician to secure medical insurance coverage for 30 private sessions! Lourdes goes above and beyond to care for her clients, many of whom she considers to be friends. She has clients that have been with her for 8 and 10 years, and after only 4 months, I understand their loyalty. I knew PT wasn't making me stronger, but I didn't know what I could reasonably expect from Pilates. Lourdes has slowly and steadily helped me build strength and flexibility in a safe, supervised way that doesn't add to my injury. She checks in frequently to make sure I'm okay after a session that was particularly challenging, and she makes me feel so empowered (yep, just like the name of her business) when I can execute a particular exercise or do something that demonstrates progress. I truly appreciate how professional she is - her dedication to continuous learning and trainings that allow her to keep up with new techniques and best practices. Lourdes always wants what is best for her clients. On top of being exceptionally good at what she does, she happens to be one of the loveliest humans. When my 70-year-old mother visited ABQ, Lourdes invited her to join a session and showed such care to make her feel comfortable while getting a good workout. I've never met anyone like Lourdes, and after years of PT, I feel like Pilates is actually improving my quality of life - physically and mentally. I look forward to each session with Lourdes. Her studio is a peaceful place to exercise, and her prices are more than fair.
