To preface, I'm disciplined…read morein the beat-the-heck-out-of-your-body arts, you know, pushups and situps and lifting and punching, alongside a little stretching here and there, for balance. As a general rule, I like to sweat. I'm of the midwestern German/Jewish/British bloodline so my veins are pretty heated, thus when I get moving, I'm a faucet, it's disgusting, honestly. If you're anywhere near my proximity when I'm dripping, stay away. I'm like a garden hose under thunderous pressure, hurling my droplets upon unsuspecting passers by. I should also preface this with the admission that I enjoyed an introduction to Pilates from a friend/associate/trainer who offered to show me the ropes, springs and stands of the art free of charge. I didn't take a class and although the personal training session wasn't leveraged on an agreement to review the venue, I can't claim this was a genuine appointment with the business. Like many of you, I was genuinely curious about Pilates. Years of television commercials offered virtually no clue into the underworld of this fascinating practice, and once I was there, in a facility equipped with the very best, I totally got it. Pilates is the yin in my aging, overburdened yang. I'm about to turn 40, about to hit that Over the Hill mark, and that means I hurt, mysteriously, in places that never hurt before. As we age, we realize that stretching and activating those muscle groups that we ignored for 40 years suddenly matters. Momentum Studio is an excessively clean, dynamic facility decked out with machines that are built to bend you sideways, upwards and out. The contraptions in this place, man, they're genius inventions of wood and coil, pulley and spoke, the kind of thing your nutty neighbor developed in his garage, and they work wonders. One hour of work in here will realign your spine and reset your clock to Zen. Next visit, I'm investigating Barre. Can't wait.

(Brian, Aline, Liz, Kelly, & Lourdes - every one awesome) They offer (& recommend) a new customer package of four private lessons. They will allow you to split that with a friend though, making it even MORE affordable. After that they have class packages and also a drop-in rate. Open studio available for those whose training is already more advanced. I've been looking for a studio or some place to go that is more supportive than where I've been taking physical therapy (which I believe is actually making my joint injury worse as they have a specific goal in mind and push, push, push to get to it in the prescribed amount of appointments), and I've found it! I have no fear that the work I do here will be comprehensive, challenging, but appropriate for me and safe. I'm looking forward to starting Pilates equipment and Barre classes!!

The vibe here is super chill and everyone I've met, including other students/yogis, have just been super wonderful. Teachers here make you feel welcome and appreciated. They learn your name and I really feel cared for whenever I come to class. The bathrooms and showers are excellent and clean and I never really have a hard time finding parking, there is a lot of parking on the street and by the park. I look forward to every class I take here, whether it's Hot Vinyasa or Pilates (haven't tried the Yin classes yet). Some teachers will really push you to your limits and I feel like my practice has gotten so much stronger since starting here. I've been to several other studios around Albuquerque, and all are very unique and great in their own ways, but HYDT is the kind of vibe where I don't feel self conscious or embarrassed or uncomfortable. No phones allowed in the studio which I love! People talk to each other and connect with one another and I really feel like that is how it should be. This place is amazing if you're thinking about trying it out just do it! You will not regret it.

The staff's awareness and implementation of disinfection protocols made me feel safe. Every therapist and assistant that guided me through the various treatment routines seemed very knowledgable to me and they made sure that I performed each assigment properly. Finally, I could not help but notice how efficient the entire operation of the clinic and the administrative office was. The teamwork exhibited by all members of the team ensured a seamless process from the beginning to the end.

So for certain types of situations they are a good place to go -- like a post rehab strengthening stint. On the down side if you have any complex injury management they are so distracted and constantly changing therapists -- and each therapist is managing multiple clients at time -- so they can't keep track of patients individual issues. In my case they missed that I had a serious fracture and so further injured me during the course of therapy. They kept pushing me to work harder despite me reporting pain to them. In general they are too distracted with multiple clients to take feedback well and tend to get defensive rather than correct mistakes. When I mentioned that I wanted to switch to another physical therapy center in a few weeks because of complex medical issues that required individual attention -- knee replacement, foot fracture, spinal fusion -- they retaliated by cancelling all my appointments. This left me -- a post knee replacement surgery rehab patient !!! -- completely in the lurch. I have heard from other medical facilities understand that this is a pattern with this facility and they commonly do this type of relalitation any time a patient wishes to transfer to other facilities. In short, highly negligent behavior as regards patients medical concerns and conditions. Avoid if you have complex medical conditions, are elderly or medically vulnerable in any way. Probably an o.k. place if you are young, strong and just looking to strengthen like a personal trainer type facility but certainly not a reputable place for physical therapy.

Because of this concerted effort to hide the truth a PowerPoint closed caption video has been created transcribing the audio of the conversation with the security director. There may be two sides to any story implying deceit, embellishment, dishonesty, and aggrandizement by one or both sides. However, the recorded audio of the conversation can only present the conversation as it happened. The audio close caption power point is available on YouTube: URL: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upQiSAcn3IM or search in youtube for "Threat of Physical Gun Violence at JCC of Albuquerque" As a member of JCC, I participated almost solely in lifting weights and the use of the men's locker room. My experiences in those areas have been excellent: the weightlifting equipment is maintained to a high level, and the locker room, shower, and steam room are always very clean. The staff in the weightlifting area have been very helpful, especially, Chris who has given me great advice on how to exercise properly. But it is totally unacceptable for any member, employee and especially a security director to threaten with a badge and gun. See slide 22. It is totally unacceptable for the security director not to contact the offending party when that activity can result in injury and even death. It is totally unacceptable to revoke a membership because that member has reported offending, dangerous, and abnormal behavior. This offending dangerous behavior has been reported for over 40 days to JCC and has been known by employees and members for much longer than 40 days. There is no excuse for not contacting the known offending party. There is no excuse for not posting parking signs, "Consider Others Park Between The Lines, Violators Will Be Towed". The cost of 3 signs is less than $150. JCC has signs implying secure your belongings in the parking lot. Why do they have these signs and not similar parking signs? To say that I refused to leave JCC is deceitful, not supported by the video. To imply that I am upset at no longer being a JCC membership is highly misleading and defamatory. The last statement made to the Security Director is "If you want to revoke my membership, do it. See slide 23. To imply that I am the problem is an opinion.
