It came out to just over $11,300 to redo the entire area they got to work within two weeks. His team arrived on time (7:30 am) everyday and worked diligently. During the course of work, the team discovered the tree stumps needed to be ground down a little bit more. I fully expected the costs to go up dramatically. However, the amount of topsoil and sod utilized was less than originally anticipated. After the added cost of stump grinding less the cost of the extra soil and sod not used, our estimate came in $400 under the original estimate! So, we've got a beautiful yard and we saved some cash too. Couldn't be happier!

Called them and had them give a walkthrough and quote, they discovered a lot of usable and nice plants in the middle of all the blackberries and ivy, and what I love is the guy who quoted also worked the job so there was no miscommunication. They showed up both for the quote and the job at the specified time. They showed up with a massive crew, way more than I expected for the cost, and absolutely ravaged the invasive plants, ivy and blackberry while leaving all the struggling plants I liked safe. They also aerated, primed, seeded and raked sphagnum over the lawn in the fall so I'd have a good start on a real lawn (writing this now as spring comes, and it looks great). They did miss one little patch of stuff I wanted out, but that was mostly miscommunication, and they hit it a few days later when they were in the neighborhood. Super nice service.

I met with a lot of companies, one being rainbow of magnolia which is a company in our neighborhood. Ernesto came over a couple of times to talk through the project with me and was available to communicate and answer all of my questions before I decided to go with them. the crew came everyday at 7 am and worked non stop until 4. They removed all the weeds, the fabric, evened the slope, got rid of the borders and rims around the roses and plants on the sides, installed an irrigation system and laid out sprinkler heads at various points to ensure newly laid sod ensuring coverage. They took out old stones that we had and replaced that with a proper walkway to go out to the sides. They did all this while checking in with us regularly and clarifying details. I was happy with the effort and the quality for the price I paid. The heat wave struck four days after and the sod took a beating and Ernesto came over took a look and committed to replacing the browned out patches for new ones after the heat settles down. We are also considering getting a bid from them for planting trees and shrubs which is a sperate effort from the work I described above. They have a dedicated person who does this sort of work.

We didn't have much time--but we knew we wanted a Noble Fir (a more expensive tree), and that we needed about 6.5'. We went in with a budget--that was apparently appropriate for last year's tree prices. (PS. If you're hunting for a noble, please be warned that prices are a bit high this year!) We found the PERFECT tree REALLY quickly, and a guy carried it over for us to check out--and started cutting the stump fresh and wrapping it--when we heard how expensive it would be... which was just a little outside of our budget. SO, we went over to tell the guy wrapping our tree that we'd have to find a different one, and it turned out that the guy wrapping our tree was the owner. He asked us what our budget was, and we told him (it was about $20 under what they wanted for the tree), and he told us we could have it for our budget price--but that we had to bring them cookies in return. SO--ecstatic--we agreed. The next day, I whipped up a batch of Kahlua White Chocolate cookies, and brought them over to the lot. The owner, and the guys on staff, seemed pretty stinking happy to receive the cookies--warm fuzzies all around. That little act of kindness from the owner has earned him a Christmas tree customer for life. Thanks, Magnolia Lawn & Garden! We love our tree!!
