I had a terrible experience here today and feel it's my responsibility to warn others about their pricing and lack of professionalism. The red flags started immediately in the waiting room. I sat there listening to the front desk calling several other patients to reschedule their appointments last-minute, which signaled total office disarray. Making matters worse, the dentist didn't even show up to the building until 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. I was there for a root canal and crown consultation. After the exam, they quoted my out-of-pocket cost--after insurance--at nearly $2.500. The number felt extremely inflated, so I went to another dentist an hour later for a second opinion. Using the exact same insurance for the exact same root canal and crown, the second dentist quoted me $1,700 less than this office. It is shocking that they would try to overcharge a patient by that much. Between the blatant price-gouging and the total lack of respect for patients' time, I will never step foot in this office again. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Everytime i call the office, i either get an AI or one of their remote phone operators who will take all your info down to relay to the office staff. I have called multiple times, sent multiple emails, and even walked in to confront their lack of returning calls/messages. The office was nice and clean when they opened but that lasted a few months. The walls are filthy, floors sticky, stained, damaged, equipment seems outdated and many more to list i dont have time for. I was a long time patient of their sister company in Visalia, and due to moving, came here, but i am done with this place. They need a major overhaul, re-evaluate your staff and their job descriptions and hold them accountable. No one should wait 3 full days to get a call back after stating multiple times in the attempts to reach them, that it got worse or fell out and went from needing an appt. to an emergency. Im over this place and their excuses.. Do yourself a favor, check around, dont just settle for the prices they give you. You wouldnt pay hundreds more for an oil change at 1 place if down the road you can save hundreds right? well this is no different. read more

My teeth legitimately feel worse after their 'cleaning' than before I went in. I was sprayed in the face with water because she missed my wide open mouth not counting the unrelenting splatter because the water was turned up so high. I ended up pushing her hands away from me because I could not breathe due to the volume of water collecting in my throat. I had to tell multiple people I had declined their $25 fluoride. Definitely feels like a money grab they try to force you into. For the two appointments here they had moved my appointment up by half an hour without discussing it with me nor ever bringing up they rescheduled the appointment. My first appointment they blamed me for being late for why their hygienist could not see me. This time around thank goodness I followed up or I would have been late yet again. Yet they have signs up in their lobby that they expect full payment beforehand in the event of cancelled appointments. Worst dentist appointment experience and wait time. 120 minute wait in the office, just for the staff to tell me that "sorry we can't do your dental cleaning today because we have a lot of medical emergencies today, can you come back today at 2:30pm, or else we need to reschedule to another day". I'm a medical doctor (MD), and I purposely took time off for this dental appointment. My appointment was at 10:30am, waited 1 hour in a crowded waiting room, wasn't seen by technician for X-rays until 11:30am, and then not seen by dentist until 12pm, only for dental hygienist to return at 12:30pm to say she can't perform my dental cleaning today because they have too many patients scheduled today. Then DONT OVERBOOK!!!! My previous dentists for the past 40 years would have never made me wait 1.5-2 hours, just to tell me they can't clean my teeth same day. The only reason for the visit was for routine cleaning. What a waste of time! I think management needs to know about this. If you can't handle so much patient volume, then don't be greedy and overbook patients and make them wait just to be rescheduled another day. Insurance fraud. They tell you insurance covers everything and then billing insurance company for inflated prices and work. Dentist Rigor doesn't know how to read x-rays. They charged insurance for $158 panoramic image because he said he can't tell if teeth is decayed. This was unnecessary work and fraudulently billed to insurance. I needed one chipped tooth repaired, Rigor, DDS said he can't do it until we get all four wisdom tooth removed. He he told us the truth, my insurance would not be billed for $817 worth of unnecessary exam. Billing insurance and refusing to fill chip tooth is INSURANCE FRAUD! After 4 phone calls, and promise of return calls gone unanswered. I finally kept calling until they passed the call to front desk on billing and she had no education to understand the question, so I just got the run around. I guess you don't need education for billing and front office staff. I couldn't get the billing person in office to understand and answer my questions. They said manager is out sick for two weeks and they don't know when she will be back. I am filling insurance fraud claim against the Rigor, DDS and office with the license agency and dental board. Don't be fooled by smiling faces. INSURANCE FRAUD! They advertise $59 exam and x-ray but insurance got billed for $817! If that is not insurance fraud, I don't know what is! read more

After two visits I'm really sick of this place. The one thing I did appreciate was Dr rigors filling for a tiny crack in my cracked front tooth. Which I paid cash for. When I first called this place I asked if I could get a teeth cleaning. They said yes but I'd have to get x rays. Sure, im fine with that. Well I show up and they say "oh we don't have a time slot for you". Additionally, they said I needed a deep teeth cleaning which costs like 10x the amount. I said "well can I get a regular teeth cleaning?" (Because that's all I can afford at the moment). No they said, because that would be "negligence". So it's negligence to get your teeth cleaned, that's news to me. if you can't afford their high tech 10x the amount. Even if I denied the "deep clean" service? They made me sign up for some membership thing. Got to make an account and password. Jump through all these hoops all the while just trying to get a standard teeth cleaning. Then next time I showed up, I get there early. I had insurance now but there's a one year wait period before they would cover a deep teeth cleaning, whatever. Ok, doing my absolute best to accommodate these jerks. I asked again, "can I get a regular teeth cleaning in the meantime" "no, it's negligence". They lied to me when I first called and asked to book a teeth cleaning. They didn't say well that depends on your condition. And to be honest my teeth are not exactly in dire straights (see pic). Not only do I pay cash for my first visit, show up early on my second visit, buy the "membership" thing. Get the x rays. I made so many accommodations without one in return. A Dentist that makes you not dread going to the dentist! I was on the hunt for a new dentist, and found this one just because I walk by it when I go to Starbucks. When I originally looked on my dental insurance website, it was not giving me their office an option. I'm really glad I looked into it because they are amazing, and it turned out they did accept my insurance. Modern Dentistry is a perfect description for this place. Their website is user friendly, you can book everything online, and fill out all your health questionnaires through it as well, leaving less time sitting in the waiting room! Also, they have some later office hours for those working folks who need a later appointment. And this millennial loves the option to book or change appointments online, and I know I'm not the only one. The office is very new, and they have all the top of the line equipment! Besides just the ease of technology, the office staff is amazing, and Dr. Rigor is top notch, don't let his age fool you, he's THE BEST DENTIST I'VE EVER HAD. Dr. Rigor is very friendly, thorough in explaining everything in detail.. he will even pull up Google and show you images to better explain something. I ended up needing a crown on my first visit, and did it all in house. I left with a "new tooth" that same day. And he guarantees it if anything were to go wrong, which was just a bonus in my opinion. He listened if I told him I needed more numbing. There was absolutely no hesitation to make me comfortable. I have heard horror stories from people not having that same experience so I thought I should note that. And when he tells you call me if you have ANY issues he means it. I had a little bit of pain the next day and thought it was infected, so I called and they got me right in. He took one look at it and knew it was ulcers (don't quote me I'm not a doctor) said he could zap them with the laser and the pain and symptoms would go away within a day, so he did and he was right the pain and symptoms went away. And while I was there I told him the crown felt a little "long" so he quickly shaved it down (completely painless) and I was in and out in just a few minutes. Also, the Dental Hygienist, Rebecca, will make you feel completely at ease, and like you've been best friends forever! Thought it was also important to note the office staff went over my cost, and options of cost BEFORE we proceeded with my crown. So I wasn't just stuck with a bill with no clue my options or how much everything would cost. And I believe for the care I received it was worth the money. I have already referred them to people who ask, and my husband also now goes there and is also happy with them. I know this is a lot to say about a dentists office, but these are things that would be important to me to know when looking for one! read more

I haven't been to the dentist for a bit and when a crown popped off I wasn't sure what to do kind of panicky I checked yelp I drive by this place on my way home so I gave them a call. I was surprised when they said they could see me same day! I wasn't super happy with my old crown I had since I got it color and shape etc... they let me know options to keep my old one or make a new one and they do it there super convenient. And they had flexible payment options fortunately as this was an emergency appt. My appt took a couple hours but was totally smooth and comfortable. I didn't even feel the anesthetic shot and they seemed to prioritize keeping me comply the whole time! Everyone there was so friendly and caring. Honestly time went by really fast. He is honest, previous dentist told me I needed two root canals, Dr. Rigor said I just needed fillings. He gave me two shots, I never even felt them. He takes the time to explain needs and costs. He gives you options. His staff is friendly, not rushed to get you in and out. He is just starting his own practice, hope he does well. read more

It is hard to find a good dentist who puts you in the center of their focus! But, Dr. Rigor is that dentist. I have searched a lot of other places but it seems that they had bad dentists and staff. I was kinda afraid since this place is kinda new and thought it would be the same but nope!! Dr. Rigor is an amazing dentist. He is professional, patient, kind, and explains pretty thoroughly what is happening and what's needed to be done. He uses google to show and explains which is VERY helpful to see what's happening to your teeth. He always does his best to provide you the least amount of pain and discomfort(ex: ACTUALLY WAITING for the anesthetic to kick in before he poked your gum multiple times!) He listens to your concerns and addresses them properly. You don't feel rushed and you're his center of focus--which I loved. It's difficult to find a dentist like him and I'm glad I chose him! I'm definitely changing my mom's dentist at western dental location to this place as Modern dentistry is WAY better in my opinion. I had two crown done for my molars--he recommended emax --on the pricey side but I went for it after a bit of research of the cons and pros. It came out looking great. So far so good. it looks and feel just like a normal tooth. I think it took about 2 hours for both crown to be done and placed on properly--the crown were made directly in the office in a machine that molds it out. He even said that if it feels funny after a few days then to return for him to fix it up. If you're having multiple crown done in a day, I do highly recommend you letting Dr. Rigor know you need to take a break after the first crown done otherwise your jaw and brain may feel like it's about to explode and you're going to pass out from the pain and pressure building up as you continue to keep mouth open...(he will ask if you want a break as he knows opening your mouth for a lengthy time can cause lots of pain) Update: I came in 2 days later because of strong tooth sensitivity near my crown tooth. Turns out it was an abfraction of another tooth. He showed me photos of what it was and explained it. He then quickly coated it an told me not to worry that this should resolved but if not then to come back and he'll fix it up. I really like Dr. Rigor! I feel he cares about his patient! this guy and the staff are great. Update: 1 week later, I noticed that when I chew..the one side of the crown was a bit too high where It felt uneven and it hurts when biting down. I called in and got booked in the same day to get it checked out. Dr. Rigor was able to see me pretty quickly (within 10 min wait) And shaved the crown more evenly. After testing it on a strip, it's a lot better and I don't feel the bump anymore! The crown still holds its place pretty firmly. read more

Personally I'm one of those people who has really bad anxiety about going to the dentist, but I knew that I needed some work done...Thankfully I had one of the best dental experiences with Dr. Rigor and his staff. The environment was very friendly and welcoming. Terin and Ricky were so friendly and made sure that all of my questions and concerns were answered. The Modern Dentistry staff made sure that I had a pain-free dental visit.  They did an excellent job at making sure that I was comfortable. I thought it would be convenient to go somewhere near home but this place over charges and tried to bill me over $900 for services that were paid to them by my insurance already. They claimed they don't know what happened to the insurance checks that I brought to them. I had to call my dental insurance and was told they had already cleared the check since December 2021. Yet, they sent me to a collection agency. I'm so glad I asked them to make me a copy of my dental insurance checks for my proof. They still can't figure it out.
