He belittles his staff and is downright demeaning if they forget or do something incorrectly. It was very uncomfortable and I wanted to give them all a hug. He was also very condescending to me just because I took an ibuprofen prior to coming in to dull the pain and he couldn't access my tooth right away. I ended up spending my whole day there which was unfortunate. I would never refer anyone here. If you get referred here, find another alternative.

I had a root canal and I was very nervous for the pain. I brought in all cash and I watched both of the front desk guys count it 7 times. And then when I sat down they came in asking for $50 more because they counted it wrong. The dental assistant was kind but had no idea what she was doing. She took up to 20 x rays during the whole appt and could not figure it out. They brought in multiple other assistants and one of them was rude. I felt like a test dummy with this group. No one knew what they were doing when I would ask a question the dental assistant clearly didn't know the answer so she'd laugh. I feel like the appropriate thing to do is say "You know what I'm not sure but let me ask the doctor for you". I had my final straw when they were trying to put this cap thing on my tooth and this other assistant was manhandling my face for the 4th time of trying to get it on my tooth and it flew across the room. I started crying because I was that much more nervous that this group had no idea what they were doing and I had been waiting already for the doctor in my chair for 2 and 1/2 hours. He finally came in and he was efficient and I was numbed just the right amount but he was condescending when talking to his staff rather than being a good teacher. I'm not sure if literally everyone here was new besides the doctor or what. But please hire people with more experience so this doesn't happen to your patients anymore! Even the assistant kept apologizing because she knew it was bad.

He evaluated my tooth and then said with a care free attitude oh it must be cracked or fractured. I asked him why would he have performed a root canal on a tooth that was cracked or fractured? he simply said sometimes this happens. I ask him if his x-rays wouldn't show that the tooth was cracked or fractured prior to the procedure and he said not always. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me as a Dentist, Who is a specialist and only performs root canals with thousands and thousands of them under his belt should be able to identify if a tooth is appropriate for a root canal or not???? he then told me that I would have to have the tooth extracted and wanted to then charge me an additional consultation fee $450 I am beside myself as his professional demeanor was terrible and lack of concern for my patient care was I've never experienced from any doctor or dentist ever in my life. His office then continue to harass me for payment for weeks and months with phone calls emails and voicemails. Ultimately, I had to have the tooth extracted at another $1200 expense. Please don't go to this man as he is heartless and inhuman to treat somebody that way he knew the tooth was fractured. Perform the procedure anyway to make money for himself and then attempted to charge me additional money for my pain and suffering if you wanna go through something like that, go ahead, but I would highly discourage anyone from visiting his office in the Riverpark area he is not a nice man nor professional. Please do not go see this Dentist.

My wife and I were referred to Dr. Danielson by our dentist, Dr. Larson. My wife has been hesitant…read moreabout visiting the dentist office due to an abundance of horrible experiences in the past. I am pleased to say that Dr. Danielson was great. He was extremely polite. He took his time while explaining different procedures as well as the best course of action to take. He apologized for all of the rotten dentist that my wife had encountered and ensured that he would make her visit and procedure pleasant. Dr. Danielson was even knowledgeable of my wife's rare bone condition and explained the correlation of problems that are taking place with her teeth and her bones. Dr. Danielson was an excellent choice. The 5 star rating is for him only. His staff however is another story. I will start with Genevieve, the receptionist. When we walked in her greeting was dull and bland, just a, hi and what was the name and appointment time. There was no professional courtesy extended to my wife during her conversation with her as far as making her feel welcomed as a new patient. She asked my wife for our insurance information, so my wife told her it should be on file due to the fact that her chart, x-rays and financial information were e-mailed over from her dentist. Genevieve told my wife she could look it up but it would take to long. So my wife asked me to give her our insurance card. She handed my wife the new patient paperwork to fill out. My wife gave Genevieve a printed copy (JPEG) of her own dental x-rays that our dentist gave to her. She asked Genevieve if she could make a copy of them and give them to Dr. Danielson. (she did not do it. When we went back to see Dr. Danielson, the x-rays were not in her file). While we were sitting in the reception area filling out the paperwork, a person of a different nationality walked in. My wife and I heard, Hi, how are you today. The gentleman replied fine thank you. He told her his name and appointment time and she replied. Ok Great the Dr. will see you shortly, you can have a seat. My wife and I just looked at each other and shook our heads. I looked up to see if maybe a new receptionist had taken over. No. It was Genevieve. Selective greetings and reluctant interpersonal interactions based on race is so unprofessional. We are African American. The other gentleman was Caucasian.

One year after that procedure, my molar died during the holiday season of 2023. I was referred to VJ by my current dentist and I am so glad I ended up there. VJ is incredibly fastidious and meticulous. He takes ample time with you before the procedure to ensure you are comfortable with him and his expertise. He makes you feel like you are a family member or close friend he cares about. His entire methodology is based of excellence and you can tell that is what he strives for. I suffer from debilitating TMD and was concerned my jaw wouldn't allow for his tools to reach the infected tooth and that my jaw wouldn't hold up for the duration of the procedure. VJ put my concerns to rest and was extremely encouraging throughout the procedure. He reassured me my mouth was opened enough and that he had plenty of space to get his tools in where he needed them to be. After the procedure, he sat and spoke with me for a while. He wanted to make sure I was doing okay and took his time post-procedure. He really made a procedure no one ever wants done a very simple and pain free experience. I've since recommended VJ to others in need and I will continue to do so.
