I highlighted my shoulders/traps area since that is where I carry most of my tension and pain. Upon entering the treatment room, it was quaint and perfect. My therapist started off in the areas that I experience the most pain and quickly helped me relieve the tenderness in those areas which I was so grateful for. Even after flipping, the upper back/shoulders/traps did not receive the requested attention with only 10 minutes left. And then she proceeded to go back onto my legs, and I had to tell her no. She then went to my shoulders for two minutes or less, and then proceeded to rub my rhomboids. I told her my shoulders and traps hurt not my rhomboids. I don't think she understood. Like I said it's a language barrier... and if I'm pain, I feel it's not my responsibility to educate. Communication:** There may have been a language barrier contributing to misalignment with my goals. Bottom line This session did not meet my expectations for anatomy-informed, goal-directed work. I've been to this spot since it was called The Massage Place, then The Massage Hub, and now Massage One Wellness. I purchase massage packages to take advantage of the package discount, and I've never had any issues with them honoring my package when they've changed the store name. I see some reviews where gift cards weren't honored; maybe it's a physical gift card instead of the packages purchased at the front desk?
