It feels like you're visiting the home of an old friend. We particularly enjoy the dry red wines and the sweet wines that Ridgewood offers. For the reds, the Merlot and Cab Franc were noteworthy for their balance and nice finishes. The Merlot was silky, oaky and smooth approach. The Cab Franc is a bit spicier, bolder and robust - wine to pair with a nice, hearty meat dish. On the sweet side of things, the Diamond is a subtle, light choice for those who are prone to be turned-off by heavier, acidic reds. The Peach Splendor is a pleasant surprise with a fresh, light, fruit-forward feel. Pair this with some chocolate squares if you're enjoying it after a meal. The Olde Orchard has a great "fall season" feel, complete with elements of apple pie, a hint of tartness and a blend of sweet. Finally, the Underground is a rising star that everyone seems to be discovering lately. It's a Merlot family member that gains a unique, but delicious flavor thanks to be un-oaked. Elements of blackberry and rose petals, with a semi-sweet finish and a nice, fuller body. This one has a little bit of everything and is probably the most intriguing option on the menu. Very clean. But the best was the Mystery Dinner later that day! An event where everyone showed up in character and you played a part all the way to the end! So much laughter! So much fun! We were also told that if we bought a bottle after the $5 flight tasting would be waived! All the wines were delicious and I tasted all the flavors as exactly described on the sheet, whether it was the smokiness or hints of blackberry - I've never been able to do that with other wines before, which shows me the winemakers here know exactly what they are doing! There was a bar area for tastings but there were also plenty of tables for sitting. The prices were unbeatable and we left with quite a few bottles in tow. I'm the first to admit that my exposure to, and my knowledge of mead is significantly more limited…read morethan other adult beverages. But I have really enjoyed what I've tried from Stonekeep. I've enjoyed visits to both their Fleetwood and Jim Thorpe tasting rooms. I really dig the medieval vibe. It makes both locations feel unique, and not quite like your typical tasting room experience. This is the type of place you would bring someone if they were visiting from out of town and we're looking for something off the beaten path. While Stonekeep produces both wine and mead, it is the latter which truly stands out. My favorite selections are the Red Raspberry Melomel and the Blue Muninn. Both offerings are absolutely delicious, and an excellent way to introduce someone to mead who may not be familiar with the drink. Both are excellent on their own, but really hit a whole new level when paired with chocolate. Consider busting out these meads for your after dinner course when entertaining at home. Or, if you're by yourself, feel free to pour yourself a glass and sit in front of the fireplace.

We tried the Vidal Blanc, Vignoles, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chambousin, Turtle Rock Red, Sangiovese and Pinot Noir. We bought a glass of the Ice Franc. My favorites were the Turtle Rock Red and Pinot Noir which we bought. The prices are fair. Definitely a fan of the wine; it's a great value. Outstanding customer service.
