What a great find! We were just passing through town yesterday and were looking for some good coffee and a quick bite to eat. We stumbled upon Cool bean Cafe and all I have to say is good stuff about the place, people and food. We ordered their gluten-free blueberry muffin, mozzarella panini, another bakery item, and coffee. The sweet gal (I am bummed that I didn't ask her name ) at the counter was all about smiles and politeness. If we are ever in the area again, this will be our place to stop. Not sure what all the hype is about. We thought it was quite an average place, and yet pretty expensive. Food is very generic, very few choices, everything is in plastic wrap, which most likely means that it either gets shipped in from outside or is just days old. Honestly, that's exactly what it tasted like. We would compare it to something out of a vending machine. Coffee and chai are also very forgettable. Staff are all very polite and friendly though, and the atmosphere is pleasant. This review might be biased though because we're from LA and have certain expectations. read more

Hands down, this place has the best Mexican Mocha I've ever had. I got it blended because it was such a hot day outside, and omg...I could not stop drinking it!! Tried to come back here on Sunday to get another blended Mexican mocha but unfortunately, they were closed. 10/10 would come back. read more

Stopped in for coffee and a light breakfast with my kids before visiting Yosemite. Ordered cappuccino, chai tea latte, chocolalte milk, orange juice, blueberry muffins, and a cinnamon roll. Cappuccino was pretty tasty. I was eating in and they were about to put it in a paper cup but I stopped them in time!!! Its not the same in paper!! Chai Tea Latte was great according to my daughter of 12 years. It was the best one she has had since San Diego. I saw the first smile on her face after she drank it since I picked her up yesterday--in fact I've seen three so far. The cinnamon roll was extremely delectable according to my 15 year old son. He said it had too much frosting--my daughter and I said there is no such thing (the frosting was awesome by the way). My six year old son said the chocolate milk that he didnt finish was the best he ever had in his life--ok technically I asked him if it was and he said yes. Take that for what you will. The blueberry muffins were pretty good. I prefer a crunchy top muffin and these were moist, which is fine. Got them warmed up with some butter. They were tasty. The staff was friendly and courteous. Discovered this cool little spot on the way home from Yosemite. My entire family definitely agreed that the drinks are great. The food in my opinion, is just pretty good but enough to fill my appetite. I got the wild berry and banana smoothy (which was very fresh and delicious) and the chicken salad croissant. We stopped by this cool cafe on the way back from Yosemite to home in Oakhurst during Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We were in the line for McDonald's and just chanced this cafe. I took the adventurous route and went there instead. Their coffee lattes were quite yummy and everyone enjoyed them. I always opt of the Cool Bean over Starbucks when I have spare time for a coffee break. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff leave you feeling good about supporting the local market and small businesses. The quality of espresso, coffee and tea are far superior to larger chain shops. I consider myself a little bit of a coffee snob but really I just love coffee. The first time I went into Cool Bean I tried the special, which was a Lavender Tea Latte. It was hot and not to sweet, the lavender flavor really steeped through the cream and now it's one of my favorite drinks. I also tried the spinach quiche, which was homemade and yummy. It was a great cafe experience, Cool Bean is worth spending the extra time to walk in, order and enjoy. You'll be happy you did! read more

Delicious, organic coffee and teas. Fan of the Gatsby and Chaicchino. If you get any of the coffee drinks, I'd suggest getting an extra shot or two, I think they only put 1 in originally, so you get that desired kick. Used to order their chicken salad sandwich all the time, which is really nothing fancy - super simple, canned chicken and mayo on a croissant. Even if I could make it at home, it was still a favorite of mine but I see they've upped it to $5 (from a previously overpriced $4.75) so sadly won't be on my list anymore. :( If they reduced the price to something more fitting, on a lot of their food options, I'd be in all the time after work for some coffee and grub! But most of the time I end up just going to Zander's on the way through Coarsegold, since they have a drive thru and the drinks already come with a good espresso-coffee ratio. Cool Bean's wait time can get pretty excessive depending on the day, so I'd call ahead if you're in a rush. Long story short, used to be a regular, almost daily, still a fan but gotta work on those prices in my opinion. I know, cafes tend to be on the expensive side, and they do have gluten free organic options, but really guys? Lol. I'll be back in more than likely this week next time in Oakhurst, this isn't a bashing of any kind, just a suggestion from a local fan. Thanks for the years of great service. read more
