Our family of 4 stopped in after a snowy hike. They do not have a kids menu, but we knew before arriving that we wanted pizza and barely glanced at the rest of the food menu. The cheesy bread, pepperoni pizza, and margherita pizza were great, and the house-made pizza sauce and ranch were absolutely delicious. We tried a total of 7 beers and would drink any of them again! Nice looking place & overall, good beer.... also a decent salad. Unfortunately, I was there alone ((woman age 60+) & opted to sit at the bar for faster service/food. BUT once I got my salad & beer (served without a smile or any general detectable friendliness whatsoever, the waitress never even once checked on me.....to see if the food was OK, to see if I needed anything else, just never checked not one single time, full stop. By now, the place was not so busy. I figured she'd still never bring me a check, or take my card (& I did wait a bit) so I went to the nearest restaurant computer & stood there. Finally paid & left a $1.00 tip.......perhaps more than was actually warranted, but hopefully it just maybe delivered a message, & if didn't, hopefully this review will. What a super find! After stopping in and checking out this old wild west town we headed for some refreshments at the Cloudcroft Brewing company. We were fortunate enough to be there mid afternoon and grab a table without a wait. Can advise that waits can be long because this location is in high demand. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. The menu has a wonderful selection of house beer and guest taps. Wine and soft drinks are also available. Pizza selection is great because you can build your own. There's also offerings of a house salad that was super fresh and delicious dressings. The soup of the day was a green chili stew , but we did not have a chance to try that. The pizzas were awesome! Crust was cooked perfectly and sauce was delicious. Our server was super attentive and super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the beers. Accompanied by a certified beer judge, he agreed that the beers were excellent and their red was exceptional. We were disappointed to see such a good beer served in plasticware, but dwere informed by the server that due to staffing challenges that they had to go this route to comedy the brisk business without being fully staffed. You would not have known that they were short on staff as we waited for nothing and had a great experience. Highly recommend this is a stop about 20 minutes outside of Alamogordo, the cool vibes of the restaurant, the excellent food and beer get you ready to head for the nearby ski slopes! P.S. 4.5 stars really - read on to see why: Staff were friendly and the bathrooms clean. My wife and I were passing thru en route to Ruidoso. Grabbed a couple of their local beer offerings and ordered a Margherita pizza with the soup & salad combo. Pizza is cooked in an onion shaped adobe type oven and was excellent. The soup of the day was Pozole with pork - OMG! Highlight of our trip so far; amazing - I want the recipe!! My wife had a blonde style beer and it was good. I had a peanut butter one and that was excellent as well. Here is the 1/2 star deduction: the salad! Although it tasted amazing with their homemade sauce, it was served jammed into a plastic box one would expect of having a to go order. We dined at the bar and when I attempted to open the salad container, it sprung out like a kids jack-in-the-box toy - cheese fell on the floor, olives spilled onto the bar top, lettuce all over the place. I'm no prude, so I scooped up all the goodness (sans cheese on the floor) and tucked in. Recapping: 1/2 star deduction for the food packaging (paper plates and bowl with plastic utensils compounded by a circus like clown-car of a salad container. Regardless, will go back!! read more

Cloudcroft was a delightful respite from a long road trip. I fortuitously stumbled upon this place and how grateful I was to do so. The staff are wonderful. There was a local artist playing which made the entire establishment feel like something from a cool CW-era tv show. The pizza was good, but the beer was heavenly. Seemed like a really nice place but the service was very "selective" to say the least. My husband and I were waiting 10min for the bartender and she ignored us after acknowledging us come in and tended to other customers that came in after us. Visiting family at Holloman AFB for a long weekend, we went up to Cloudcroft to camp. They suggested grabbing a couple pizzas and some drinks from Cloudcroft Brewing Company. This was a solid suggestion! We arrived around 7pm or so on a Saturday and managed to grab a parking spot fairly close to the entrance. The place was bustling as we walked in and when we asked about a table, they told us an hour, or we could just grab seats at the bar. Since it was only two of us, we grabbed a couple stools at the end of the bar. I managed to walk around and was impressed with the size of it. Plenty of space inside and some nice outdoor areas - One part had a stage where live music was playing and several tables while another part was pet friendly. The bartenders working were incredibly friendly and personable! They did a good job keeping an eye on us as we drank and ate and chatted with us and let us try a few other beers on tap. Thanks to them chatting us up and their suggestions, we ended up grabbing a growler to take home! For dinner, we grabbed a pepperoni pizza and the "Cory's Fave" pizza, which is homemade red sauce, mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, bacon, and chopped red onions. Both were great bar-style pizzas - thinner crust, probably around 10", and easy to eat! Each pie had a fair number of toppings and were filling without leaving us uncomfortable. The prices were pretty fair for what we got! I really enjoyed Cloudcroft Brewing Company - the vibe of this place was great, the staff seemed genuinely happy to be there, and of course, the beer and pizza were delicious. Nice looking place but the owners policies suck and are violate the ADA. We came in with our pup who is an emotional support dog for PTSD. We sit down outside and the waitress asks what tasks he does and then says they only accept dogs that help with tasks which is rude and insulting. I'm not litigious enough to sue for ADA violation but someone will be and I hope they make them pay through the nose. They have a patio so having a support dog sit with you seems like a pretty easy reasonable accommodation to make. Just unnecessary. read more

Wow, what a gem!? Stopped in because I had stumbled across Cloudcroft a few weekends ago on a Roadtrip and I wanted to come back through. This place was super cool. I could see it being a local hangout spot in the evenings. I ended up having the Wheat beer and loved it. I also enjoyed their soup of the day: Chicken Sausage Gumbo (spicy!) and the Sweet & Tangy pie: kinda like a Hawaiian. Both were excellent! Rude service and bad food when we and our server was very passive aggressive and the food was not good

Live music was going when we arrived. Waited a few minutes for a table as the place was poppin'! Looked over the menu while we waited. We ordered Kory's favorite and Zia pie. Wow! Zia pie had all the flavor and was my favorite between the two. Kory's favorite was a great pizza as well! The crust is amazing. It was a busy night for them so service was a little slow but our waitress was friendly. I had the orange blossom mead. Our waitress described it spot on as a strong wine. Very nice place right in Cloudcroft that we stopped in to one Sunday afternoon. There was live music (he was so phenomenal!) and a beautiful outdoor patio. The pizzas were the BEST I've had in a long time. They're thin crust so you eat like half a pizza though before your stomach has caught up with your eyes - very easy to smash a whole one my yourself. Warning - not dog friendly. You'd think that with a large outdoor patio they would be. They told us it was under construction rather than just saying so and I walked around back to walk my dog while waiting on our pizza to go and found the patio now full. Lots of IPA's on draft to choose from; some really great pizza; friendly and courteous service; and a very relaxing and comfortable atmosphere are all the reasons that this place has become one of favorites while visiting Cloudcroft. On their menu, scan the bar code to see what IPA's are available that day on tap (Easy-Peasy). I ordered "Art's Red Ale" (AKA Rail Spike Rail). It's an Imperial Amber Ale with 8.2% ABV and 56 IBU ($5.00). I found it to be very smooth, with a great taste, and yes, a little bit of punch to it, I highly recommend! I ordered their "Zia Pie". It was my first time at trying it, and my decision was based solely on the pictures posted on Yelp - it looked really good!! The verdict is, it's even better in real life!! It's made with homemade tomato sauce, sharp cheddar cheese, chopped green chile, chorizo, chopped tomatoes, red onions, and cilantro. All this on top of a perfectly cooked thin crust - it was delicious! My server, Cassidy, did an outstanding job of checking on me frequently and making sure everything was good. She had a pleasant personality, was knowledgeable about the menu, and courteous - everything that an employer loves to have representing their business. I love sitting in their outdoor patio area, enjoying the cool breeze from being in the mountains. If you haven't had the opportunity to visit, you need to put this on your list. Nice decor, good variety of brews. Employees on the beer side don't seem to be super happy to be there and the bartender did not know the beers at all. We walked over to the distillery side and had a fantastic experience. Great service. Learned a lot about how they make their beer and liquors, using reclaimed rain water. Superb! Excellent beers, with a surprisingly wide selection. My particular favorites are the Seasonal Brown Ale and the Oatmeal Stout. This place is so popular they are adding on. It is large already, with ample parking (but walking distance from the Grand Cloudcroft Hotel, across the street. Clean, modern, friendly, cozy, and outstanding service from the staff. Yet another brew pub. It's funny to think that these small breweries are trying to compete with multi billion dollar breweries. I like the overblown ego. Everything is served in plastic or in paper boxes. The trash this place produces must be insane. Beer in plastic cups. Klassy. Food is forgettable and sorry for the 15% tip. But to tell me to get up to get my own water isn't really good service. During our meal a guitarist and drummer were preforming. Would have been nice if they played acoustically instead of blasting us out of the cold dining room as quickly as possible. read more
