I met the fantastic owner, Susan, today on my first visit and she's simply a delight. She has curated a fantastic collection of unique vintage pieces, handcrafted treasures and one of a kind quirky finds. A must see and short drive when taking the car ferry from Rising Sun, Indiana or a longer driving adventure when venturing by road when crossing at one of the major bridges across the Ohio River. Pick the ferry up at the Rising Star Casino--$5 each way per car to cross. This tiny town, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, is one you should plan to swing by on your next road trip!!

The racks are so full that you cannot move the hangers to view the inventory, and as result, the clothing often falls off the hangers. Prices seem to have increased. The clearance discount has evidently changed, though that is not communicated anywhere. During my most recent visit, the air was off and the store smelled like dirty feet making for an even more unpleasant experience. My tolerance for the temperature and odor quickly waned upon learning that the air conditioning was not just malfunctioning, but was deliberately turned off at the preference of the new owner... Never mind offering customers a comfortable shopping experience.

Although I did find out that they were getting ready to have a nice clearance sale to send out the spring/summer clothes and transition to fall/winter. The last day of the sale they actually did a bag sale. I made it in on one of the sale days and bought some nice clothing at a more reasonable price. They also had some decor items. The store is fairly small but they packed it full of good shopping. I also found a pair of shoes that I liked. I actually paid more for them than I would have liked but they were unique. I am sure I will stop in again. I may make it when they are transitioning over to spring to pickup some deals on winter clothes.

This should not be done during store hours, or should be done in a backroom where customers who are physically in the store aren't treated like second class citizens to your Facebook lives. Clothes were packed heavy on racks, so I can't imagine they get much business on the sales side.
