Last Christmas when my family wanted to help out with gifts for someone less fortunate, I contacted this agency and was given a list of a family's requests, which I then shopped for and delivered to Welcome House. Sometimes when I pass by this agency it seems there is often a line out front of individuals waiting for it to open. That makes me think they're doing good things to help out the less fortunate.

I also snagged a 1 gallon can of evolve Ultimate Paint and Primer for $17 and a 1 gallon can of evolve Paint and Primer in Sunbeam Yellow for $14. They are currently $35.99 and $30.99, respectively, on Amazon. What great deals! I'm so glad that I came! And, the employees are the nicest people. The manager was nice enough to wait past the closing time for me to get everything that I needed. I told her that I was just stopping in and would come back to get what I needed, but, she told me not to rush and the young lady that helped me take my supplies to my car was so sweet. The store is clean and well organized. The bathroom, which I know is a weird thing to talk about, was freshly painted and smelled really good. ;-) I'm definitely coming to this Restore again first to shop for supplies for projects. You can get what you need for a fraction of what you would pay in stores and online and the money is going towards a good cause.

Happen, Inc was sponsoring the #backtoschool #northsideschoolbackpackgiveaway just a few blocks away from my house on #hoffnerstreet. We arrived just after 10:00 am for the 10 am to 2 pm event. It wasn't busy at all. The main gate entrance to this enclosed garden that I didn't even know existed was the required flow for the parents & children coming here. #Covid19 precautions were being taken. Facemasks and social distancing was promoted. We checked in at the registration table. Emails were asked for so they could keep people informed of future events. Most of their events used to be held at their storefront on #hamiltonavenue until the #covid19 pandemic. The friendly staff directed us to walk through the garden to the next table at the back entrance. My grandson and I got a little bit off of the main path but we made it to the next table. Here my grandson was able to pick out what color backpack he wanted! Green was his choice. He was excited to look inside it and we stopped on the sidewalk just down the street. He sat down and opened it up. To my surprise it was loaded with writing pads, paper, folders, crayons, a ruler and a zippered pouch with a lot of erasers and pencils and a pencil/crayon sharpener. My grandson was so happy! He sat there on the sidewalk sharpening the pencils. I was glad to see that the backpack was made from high quality materials. Cincinnati is incredibly lucky to have an organization of this caliber providing services in our community. Led by Executive Director Arlene Nolan, the Drop is focused on providing high quality services to its residents. They've made tremendous changes over the past few years, improving the quality of meals, offering alternative meals to accomodate dietary restrictions, and remodeling the living quarters to accommodate the feedback from residents. You may have known the Drop was there, but did you know they are the only place in Cincinnati that doesn't turn people away? Clients can enter intoxicated, suffering from mental illness, or just in need of a place to stay, and they'll find shelter here. There is an entire bunk room dedicated to housing veterans and working individuals who need help getting back on their feet. What you may not know is that the Drop provides intensive case management services for its residents. While individuals can just come to the Drop for shelter, all clients have the opportunity to participate in recovery, mental health, and other services to help find permanent housing. If you're not convinced, call the Drop Inn Center and ask to hear some of their data -- it will below you away. So how can you help? 1. Donate supplies. Check out their website to find out what they need most. 2. Donate money. Like everyone else, they're trying to cut expenses without cutting services. The Drop serves a vulnerable population that's already had services cut in so many other places. Help make sure it doesn't happen here too. 3. Visit. There are residents here who are desperate for someone to talk to, to tell their story to, to interact with. You don't have to do anything... just show up and listen. If you want to learn more, call Arlene and she'll make sure you know everything you ever needed to know. This is an incredible asset to our city providing ESSENTIAL services to thousands of individuals each year. We all need to do our part to make sure those services will always be available to people who need them.

I was put out without a chance to explain or defend myself and so I have been homeless and yes, I believe I would have got housed if I was able to stay so staff and resident dialogue. De-escalation is very much needed.

I needed to get something sent overnight. I had a label, but didn't know how to get it into the…read moreenvelope. I needed help. I went to a FedEx OnSite location close to home and while waiting in line I was not instilled with confidence. I decided to leave and go to a full service store. And that's how I ended up here. There was one person working. She was on the phone apparently with her boss talking about the two other employees that did not show up today. So... she was not only busy, but was dealing with management issues. She finally hung up and helped me in no time flat. Though it took a while, once she was able to help me she instilled me with complete confidence. I give this place an A. Had she not had to deal with her boss and management issues, which delayed her attention to customers, I'd give it an A+.

I WAS going to go there to send a GAP car insurance claim via fax. I asked for some help from two…read morestaff members, who said that they'd help me, but then went back to a computer....one staff member was able to help because I had some questions for if the fax was considered local, long distance, etc. Turns out that to send all the pages in the GAP claim (lots of pages), it would've cost $100! HELL NO! I'm not going to shell over $100, for a few pages.....that's TOTAL BS! I'm going to work and going to see if they can help me send it!....

There is only one location, which is in Covington, close to the Parish Kitchen, etc. I feel safe dropping off my donations, and I always get a receipt for my taxes. Note that the donation drop-off is behind the building in a parking lot. You have to ring the intercom for service.
